Work Market is a labor resource platform designed to help businesses and contract workers find and engage each other. Work Market enables companies to manage employees, vendors, and third parties in one unique platform. Our release notes are here, highlighting key features and updates.
We have been working on enhancing how companies manage their groups for the past month or so, and we wanted to provide you with a recap on all of the latest features!
The following are the key functionality enhancements we have added:
1. An improved way to manage group requirements, including insurance minimums, enforcement of expired items, and buyer/seller notifications
Groups managers can require notification and/or remove members from a group if required credentials such as licenses, certifications or insurance expire
Managers can also set a minimum coverage requirement for insurance.
Workers who fall into this state will be reverted to a "pending override" status, and must either be overridden or update their credentials.
2. We've added an attestation option to user profiles that allow them to declare they do not require Workers Comp coverage. Doing so will allow them to meet any workers comp group requirement without coverage (see last week's blog post for more details!)
3. We added flexibility through company-defined document requirements. Documents can be added by the buyer to their file manager and can be included as a document requirement
Work Market will make the file available for download and support capture of a user uploaded document... but we will not confirm the content in the files. The material will be made available for the buyer to review and take appropriate action on.
In addition to the download/upload flow, we added the concept of document expiration, which is defined by the worker and confirmed by the company - Work Market only takes action on the approved expiration dates associated with a document.
4. Lastly, we enhanced the management page. This includes new search/filtering facets, such as free form, location based licenses, certifications, and more. Additionally, we included bulk actions for group members (approve, decline, un-invite, etc.) and added a nicer look and feel. The largest addition is the ability to download documentation packages for all group members that includes all material associated with the group.

These enhancements will help you better manage your groups and their requirements. If you have any feedback - please email us at [email protected] or comment below!
Our latest enhancements provides additional options for insurance requirements within Work Market for both workers and companies.
For workers:
Under the insurance screen, workers can indicate that Worker's Compensation is not a requirement in their state
They will receive expiration notifications for insurances, certifications, licenses and documents
Allow Workers Compensation insurance requirements to be met either by carrying the insurance/coverage amount or attesting to the above that their state does not require them to carry this
To that end, companies can do the following:
Companies can require insurance for workers to apply for groups
They can override Worker's Compensation insurance if the state they work from does not require it in one click
Adding insurance as a group requirement within Work Market helps build a network of quality workers. Update your insurance requirements today.
New Group Options: Insurance Requirements Notifications
We want to make sure companies are updated on the status of their group's requirements. Now, you have the option to receive notifications if a group member's insurance expires, and/or you can elect to remove members when their insurance expires.
To add these specifications, go to 'Manage Requirements' under your groups. Under 'Insurance', specify the industry and type of insurance required for the group. Then click the desired check boxes to add requirements. Head to the groups page to update your requirements!
This update enhances communication for companies, ensuring that requirements for their groups are met and sustained. Be on the lookout for even more communication enhancements headed your way!
We redesigned the navigation bar and put it on the left side of the screen! Simply open the orange circle located on the left to see your navigation options. We made some other enhancements to Work Market. Check it out:
- The new navigation bar slides out from the left side of your dashboard, and will remain open until you close it.
- The buyer/seller toggle is now found in the profile drop-down on the right side of the page.
- We moved the icon to change the background of your homepage to the bottom right side of your screen.
- We added a search bar to the upper left side of the page.
Stay tuned for even more enhancements coming your way!
Work Market is changing the ways both buyers and workers rate each other. With the introduction of WorkRanking, workers with positive metrics will appear higher in searches, resulting in more work on Work Market
Here is what workers and buyers need to know about our new ratings system:
Worker's ratings are no longer on a 5 star scale. Instead, they are reflected by way of percentages. Ratings are shown as either excellent, satisfied, or unsatisfied.
These metrics are based on overall performance, quality of work, professionalism, and communication.
Workers will continue to receive positive ratings for arriving on time and submitting deliverables on time.
Current star ratings will translate into satisfaction percentages across the site.
We eliminated auto-rate and the default rating is satisfied.
Buyers ratings:
Workers can rate clients from the assignment details page as soon as the assignment is invoiced.
Workers will be prompted for ratings whenever they are paid and withdraw their earnings.
Ratings are released only after they have been paid.
Current star ratings will translate into satisfaction percentages across the site. A 5 star rating converts to excellent, a 4 star rating converts to satisfied, and 3 stars and below convert to unsatisfied.
Work Market's updated rating metrics gives workers more ways to show off their skills, and allow transparency for buyers to build their network.
Workers now have the ability to sync their calendar on Work Market with their Google calendar! Links for this new feature are located on your dashboard and on your profile.
Once activated, all current assignments will sync with your Google calendar. Each calendar event will contain the address, title, company name, client name, and contact name accordingly.
Your Google calendar will update automatically if you reschedule or cancel an existing assignment.
We hope you take advantage of this convenient way to organize your schedule. Be on the lookout for other calendar syncs soon!

You gave us your feedback and we listened! We enhanced the buyer scorecard on Work Market by adding Approval Time. Now freelancers can check out how current and potential clients rank in their average time to approve assignments for payment once completed.
The metrics are based on the last 90 days and display as either Great (less than 5 days), Good (5-10 days), or 10+ days. The truck icon indicates that a client uses parts logistics, indicating they may have a longer approval time due to waiting on the return of parts needed for the assignment.

We made some enhancements to our dashboard, simplifying assignment management for both the buyer (the client) and seller (the contractor).
If you are a buyer, you will only see assignments you or your company own. If you are a seller, you will only see the assignments sent to you. For those who are both buyers and sellers, you are now able to toggle back and forth between views.
Contractors can give clients even more insight in to what makes them stand out by uploading videos to their profile! Videos can be from their portfolio, promotional images, or other professional work and uploaded from their desktop, mobile, or tablet.
Additionally, clients are now able to make videos a requirement for groups or assignments.

We think ratings on Work Market are extremely important, and we want them to be as accurate as possible. So, we removed automated ratings from the Work Market system to give a better picture about whom both businesses and contractors are working with.
Work Market will no longer auto-rate once an assignment is completed. Instead, businesses and contractors can rate the job themselves.
This enhancement allows for even more transparency within your workforce, empowering you to have an even greater experience on Work Market.
