Totally dropped the ball on World Cup countdown lmao T_T but wow Vanessa Lee doing the socials for the tournament made it so fun! Obsessed with the Mete Gazoz cards and the 'beach or mountains' question and literally every time the Mexican team chanted/cheered. Also, Matias Grande was excellent this tournament, I hope he keeps doing well, what a lovely dude! I'm still crying about Mete Gazoz and Kim Jedeok not making finals/semi-finals for men's individuals, but there's always next stage!!

Archery World Cup Stage 2 Countdown: 10 Days to Go!

Work got busy so I couldn't post the past two days lol but WE'RE BACK today with Atanu Das. He's fresh off the men's team finals and a silver medal in World Cup Stage 1, and he looked so joyful to be back for outdoor season. He's been shooting for India internationally since (and I had to google this) 2008 in the Youth Circuit and 2013-ish in Worlds. It's really good to see archers have long and successful careers and keep doing what they love! I love watching his individual matches, but I like it best when he and Deepika Kumari pair for mixed teams. They're adorable and I would die for them. They communicate so well as teammates and it's like watching a romantic sports anime ✨✨✨✨

Archery World Cup Stage 2 Countdown: 13 Days to Go!

Today's feature is Gaby Schloesser-Bayardo. She shot for the Mexican team until 2016, and transitioned to the Netherlands starting 2017. She's about to have a baby, which might be why we didn't see her in Florida earlier this month.

She's the first Dutch woman archer to qualify for the Olympics in over 20 years, which is amazing. I hope more Dutch women are inspired to do archery because of her! I really enjoy watching her in Mixed Team matches, which is where she medals/shines the most. She's got great resilience and doesn't seem to get shaken by bad arrows, and seems to be a super chill teammate to have.

Archery World Cup Stage 2 Countdown: 14 Days to Go!

Today's feature is the 2020 Olympic Champion in men's individual recurve, Mete Gazoz. He is an excellent archer and has so much fun with archery, so it's always really exciting to watch his matches. He just won an individual silver in the first stage of the World Cup this year in Central Florida, so it's safe to say he's in great condition this year. Can't wait to see him take names/kick butt in Stage 2!

Today I'm featuring Marie Horáčková, the reigning World Champion in Women's Individual Recurve Archery. She has meticulous technique and near-textbook form, and is a delight to watch! Also, it's super cute that she's coached by her dad, and love seeing their dynamic during matches. She swept through the World Championships in Berlin and might've been the only archer to beat Lim Sihyeon that year in the international circuit, in what was a totally unexpected upset.
