He was a valuable member, even if he was a little…odd at times. “You’re welcome to stay with me. I don’t have much, but if you don’t mind that, I’d be glad to have you.”

“You’d let me stay with you?! I mean, I’m...I’m just...I’m overwhelmed. That’s so kind of you. I mean, I don’t have a lot either...I mean, I had some things but I think they’re gone from the snap move thing.”

“So wait, we’re going to be roommates?”

“Oh.” It wasn’t an uncommon story, unfortunately. Lots of things happened during the years after the snap. People thought that those taken by the snap were never coming back. But they did. Just because it was a miracle, however, didn’t always mean things would go easy from there. “Do you need a place to stay?” Steve asked. “You could stay with me until you find a place or get your house figured out.”

“Yeah, I could use a place to stay. I mean, I was lucky to have the van to stay in but you know...it’s a little cramped with all the science stuff.” He shrugged his shoulders.

“Well, I kind of needed a place to crash since my house was uh...taken over during the snap. So I kind of have a grown daughter now...and it’s really complicated....You know, you go from having a peanut...to a big peanut. Like I love Cassie but it’s like I missed some of her growin’. So I guess I’ll be here for awhile until I get my own place again...that wasn’t taken over by a family of six.”
