Grey’s 12x22 rant

I actually like that Arizona won. I love Callie to bits and pieces but wanting to take Sofia away from her other parent was a selfish idea in the first place. You don’t move that far away from your kid’s other parent - not for the other parent’s sake, but for the kid’s sake. Sofia has a right to both her parents and she must be prioritized in a situation like this. Which is why I’m stumped that the friends who testified didn’t mind to testify. Did any one of them even tell Callie (especially Callie) or Arizona it was a bad idea, that Sofia’s needs and rights should come first and not theirs? (Maybe they did and I missed it, but still, a few of them friggin’ testified, you guys) I love this kind of story line (the angst is delicious!), don’t get me wrong, but I don’t for one minute buy it. Shonda have said that she wants to treat Callie and Arizona like any other couple, to show that same sex couples go through the same things as straight couples - I feel like that’s why she did this. This story line was just thrown in to make a point. Oh, golly, I love analyzing shit. And I predict more angst so I’m not complaining. I also predict Callie and Penny soon breaking up because Callie’s gonna feel like this is all Penny’s fault. And another thing: I really don’t think Sara is leaving the show. Like, I really don’t. It would be stupid. I mean, we knew Patrick was leaving and we knew Sandra was leaving. They’re just not telling us because if they said she’d stay we’d know Callie would stay in Seattle. Now, if I’m wrong I will be crushed and stupid but... Yeah, I’m probably not wrong ;)

I love how vulnerable Stef is in this scene. This is just my interpretation, but I feel like she’s terrified. She doesn’t want to talk about it, doesn’t want to think about it, she’s already decided on the mastectomy so that it can all just be over with. She barely says anything. She doesn’t want to hear everything Lena is saying and is so tempted to push her away so she doesn’t have to hear it or face the situation. She even tries to pick a fight by asking if Lena wouldn’t be attracted to her anymore if she has a mastectomy but then remembers she doesn’t want to do that, doesn’t want to push Lena away. So she gives that up, because she needs Lena, she doesn’t want to fight with her. “I know,” she tells Lena, allowing herself one single moment of admitting to herself how she’s actually feeling. To me it’s the only moment where she actually breaks a little, and she does it in order to connect somehow with Lena, to give her something, show her she understands where she’s coming from. And god, she looks so small. Strong Stef looks so, so small. Everything Lena says, Stef knows but she hasn’t given it enough thought because it’s too frightening. She’s sad, but tries so hard to keep up a facade. The whole episode she seems to be strong and calm. She doesn’t even get angry about Ty and AJ running away. How can she? There’s no room for that in her.
