Hinata’s complimenting made Nitori’s eyes widen, and his cheeks flush slightly. He wasn’t sure what their first encounter had meant but obviously, it wasn’t a mistake, at least on Hinata’s part. He had said that he wasn’t all that drunk…

The sensation of light movement underneath Nitori’s toes made him flinch back and hold a laugh in, cheeks flushing slightly darker. The blush only went away momentarily when the redhead lifted the silverette’s foot, and looked at him questioningly from behind it. Nitori’s eyebrows raised slightly, but he slowly nodded.

“What….what are you…gonna do..?”

“Oh, ah-” Nitori stared as Hinata grabbed his ankles, almost eagerly. Maybe…he missed him just as much as Nitori did? The pleasant thought made the silverette smile, and he sighed with content. “You make me really happy, Hina-chan…I missed you.”

Being complimented on his feet of all things, Nitori couldn’t help but shrug bashfully and look to the side. “Oh, I mean, I don’t know…maybe because they’re in water a lot, they’re just naturally that way, or..” he laughed and rubbed his arm, wiggling his toes. “I’m not entirely sure, actually. But I uhm…I’m glad you like them?”

Nitori suggested that they play the movie while the massage, but even as the film went on, Nitori couldn’t help but only focus on Hinata’s hands. He really couldn’t even try to deny that it felt absolutely amazing, and it made Nitori regret not getting a massage if any kind sooner.

Soon Nitori was not only not paying any attention whatsoever to the movie, he was staring at Hinata’s hands as he worked with heavily lidded eyes, his skin tingling whenever the redhead touched a certain spot on his foot. “This is really…really nice, Hina-chan..”

Nitori was glad Hinata had agreed to take it easy tonight, and they settled down together, laying like they had been before that night took a drunken sexual turn. Nitori looked at Hinata and laughed, leaning against his shoulder. It was good to be able to just act normal again, he really couldn’t stand being apart from his best friend. This moment in time was perfect, and Nitori wanted to savor it forever.

However, upon Hinata’s offer of giving Nitori a massage, the disgruntled male looked over and blinked, his blush coming back up. “A...a what?” He smiled apologetically, not meaning to sound so taken aback. “Sorry, but...a massage? I mean...uhm, sure, I guess? I don’t...really mind.” Nitori sat up and looked at his feet. They were..clean enough. He had taken a shower before he’d come over. “...are you sure it’s okay?” Nitori looked up at Hinata and squinted, smiling a bit. “You aren’t going to tickle me again, are you?”

Moving so his legs were stretched out, the swimmer took a breath. “I’ll repay you if you want, I could give you a massage or treat you to lunch if you’d like? You can choose, Hina-chan.”

Holy shit. Nitori's entire body blushed at the majorly unexpected confession, and he wasn't even sure how to react. He just felt his face go red and his eyes go wide, and he stayed that way the entire time Hinata spoke. Even after the redhead had finished, Nitori stared at the volleyball player in disbelief. He was flattered, and honestly, relieved. That hadn't been just him then. The thought made Nitori let out the breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding and close his eyes, smiling.

"I um...." Nitori took a breath and accepted Hinata's invitation, sitting criss cross next to his friend. His face had lightened only slightly but at least he was breathing. "Maybe...maybe it wasn't entirely...the drunk part that made me keep going anyways, s-so uhm.." Nitori rubbed his arm and let out an exasperated laugh. "I think that'd be okay...I-I mean, I'd like that, a lot. Just...maybe on a weekend, since I sort of...came so late."

The swimmer did truly want to attempt what they had been doing beforehand again, but he wasn't sure how far they'd go, and if they'd be ready for class in the morning if anything were to happen. So he just wanted to be safe. "How about for tonight we just...try finishing that movie? I want to be with you- I-I mean, hang out, you know..um, and we never did find out if the spy lived or not, s-so..." Nitori gave Hinata a faltering smile and shrugged, laughing nervously.

Even if things were to progress to that point...Nitori wouldn’t know how to go about it. Maybe that’s why he was so hesitant about going the distance with his friend.

Weeks had gone by since the whole Real Redhead incident. Nitori had named the incident because he’d been finding himself wondering more and more if Hinata was a real redhead..

But those perverted thoughts were always pushed aside as quickly as possible before Nitori had the nerve and courage to take action, either on himself, or Hinata. So he tried to keep himself distracted, focusing on work mostly, taking time to swim when he could. He even did the worst possible thing he could do in this situation and avoid his best friend, just so he wouldn’t have to deal with that awkward encounter.

But Nitori missed Hinata...not only for the awkward kissy parts, but because he’d gotten his friend, his family back for such a short time and he just missed him. He decided enough was enough, and that they were grown adults. It wasn’t like it was...on purpose or anything, they were both flat out drunk. Right?

Nitori made sure he knew Hinata was going to be in their room when he came in and closed the door, turning to the bright eyed redhead and giving an apologetic smile. “Hinata..please forgive me.” he started, taking a breath and fidgeting with his fingers as he spoke. “What we- what I did, was really, really out of line, and...I guess it was sort of...bound to happen sometime. I mean..what’s college for if not for..experimenting?” Nitori covered his mouth with his fingers and looked down in regret. “No, no, that’s...that’s not what I meant..I mean-” The swimmer took a breath and smiled again, double the apology on his face now.

“I just miss you...and I want us to be friends again like we were, like we always have been. Please?”

Nitori wanted so badly to ignore his phone as it went off once, twice, and then five more times. On the last ping! his phone made, Nitori shot up and grabbed his phone angrily. He squinted as he read through the texts, one by one, having to read them over to make sure he knew what was happening. He looked up from his screen with a very unamused very exhausted face. A long sigh came from the weary duck, and he typed out a passive aggressive response.

With a loud groan, Nitori dragged himself out of bed and grabbed a jacket, making his way towards the entrance of the dorms. Sure enough, once Nitori rounded the corner, he saw Momo hugging himself and shivering. The silverette grumbled to himself as he made his way over, opened the door and saw Momo covered in snow. 

The sight was amusing, to say the least, and Nitori closed his eyes and laughed a bit, offering the jacket he had brought to the otter with a short sigh.

“Come on you big dork, get inside before you actually die and I’m proclaimed the worst captain in the history of Samezuka.”

In a normal situation without any alcohol present, this would never ever have happened. Nitori was never one to make any moves on anyone in his entire short history of relationships, but here he was, making the most obvious advances - sexual advances, nonetheless - on his childhood friend, of all the people in the world.

The kissing didn’t stop, especially after Hinata showed no desire to end this encounter of theirs. Nitori hastily moved his knee in between the parting of Hinata’s legs, feeling the redhead was just as excited as Nitori was, and Nitori laughed huskily in between kisses.

But it wouldn’t last.

After a few more shares kisses between the two, Nitori had to pull away to get some air, and he stared at his breathless friend through heavily lidded eyes. He moved back a bit in surprise when he saw a flash of Hinata when he was a child. That was enough to punch him in the face with a bit of a reality check. “We...we shouldn’t...be doing this..” Nitori closed his eyes and held his forehead with a hand, holding his head now with both hands, elbows resting on his knees. “I’m...we’re just really really drunk..we should probably get to sleep now, right? It’s so late..” Nitori felt ashamed, so terribly ashamed that this had even happened, that they’d gone so far, and were willing to go even further.

“I’m...I’m gonna just..lay down now..” Nitori was now mumbling as he shakily stood and walked over to his bed, not bothering to grab a blanket or move his laptop before falling onto it, trying to make his face temperature decrease.

The worst part about all of it...was that Nitori wanted to do it again.

Nitori had to roll onto his side and hold his stomach as he laughed, his breath coming here and there when it could. Now Hinata had always had the ability to make Nitori laugh, but you could definitely tell that the pair had been drinking. Nitori begged him to stop although the small redhead wasn’t even doing anything, Nitori just couldn’t stop laughing.

And then Hinata’s poking and prodding came, and though Nitori would’ve been able to keep it a secret that he was still extremely ticklish if he was sober, he had no control and continued to be a wriggling giggling mess. He ended up wriggling so much that he rolled off of the bed, and tangled in the mess of blankets, Hinata followed close behind. This would have been a good sign to stop, and Nitori even began saying so, but the redhead continued his teasing and Nitori couldn’t help it.

The silverette could beg all he wanted but it didn’t seem that the volleyball player could or would stop anytime soon. “Hin- Hina- stop I’m gonna pee-eeeee-” A wasted effort, as the redhead only kept on with his tickling. Nitori’s stomach began to hurt and he needed to breath, so he ended up grabbing Hinata’s wrists and flipping, him ending up on the top and the other on the bottom. Nitori smiled and took a few breaths, leaning his head on Hinata’s shoulder to breath. “We are...we are so drunk..alright, sorry Hina..”

But Nitori’s voice faded off once he lifted his head, and it was then he realized how close he actually was to his friend. Wide unsteady blue eyes studied Hinata’s face, taking note of his shining brown eyes and pink-tinged cheeks and his...perfect pink lips...

Without hesitation, Nitori leant down and closed the gap between them, very lightly brushing the tip of his tongue over Hinata’s lips. Nitori pulled away with half lidded eyes after a moment, letting one of Hina’s wrists free to reach up and run a thumb over the lips he’d just licked. “You taste...good..” Nitori held Hinata’s chin in place and he leant down once again.

Nitori nodded as he opened his laptop, clicking his internet browser. “That sounds like a good idea. Maybe we’ll just tire ourselves out during the movie and fall asleep afterwards. Oh, hey, you know what-” The silverette grabed his backpack containing his blankets and pillows, tossing it onto the bed. “Let’s get comfy, that way we’ll be more likely to just snooze after the movie.”

For some reason, there was a tiny hope in the back of Nitori’s mind that maybe Hinata would convince them to not drink, but his actions proved otherwise. And frankly, Nitori was so happy, he didn’t mind letting loose, if even a little bit tonight. He accepted the canteen and sniffed the liquid, raising his eyebrows at the unexpected sweet smell. “Oh wow...maybe this actually won’t taste bad.” He held his container up and laughed at Hinata’s enthusiasm. It hadn’t gotten old, and now that he was here with him, Nitori realized he’d quite missed the redhead.

Taking a small drink of the liquid cautiously, Nitori braced himself to have to force the booze down once it came in contact with his tongue, but it actually tasted fantastic. Nitori’s eyes widened and he stared at the canteen in his hand. “This is..this is really good...” The swimmer took another much bigger drink this time and closed his eyes and he smiled. “I kind of wish I would have done this sooner. Thank you, Hina-chan.”

Settling themselves onto the bed next to one another so close their shoulders were squishing against each other, blanket covering them from head to toe, Nitori decided to put on a newer secret agent flick he’d had his eye on for a while. “The second one’s coming out later this year, so maybe we could go see it together if this is any good.” Most of the movie went by swimmingly (no pun intended) and truly it was a pretty good movie! But Nitori was having a real hard time focusing towards the end of it.

Unfortunately, the silver-haired male was slowly learning the hard way that he wasn’t very tolerant of alcohol. He had to blink to make things stop twisting, and he felt an oddly pleasant and very warm sensation in his chest. He couldn’t help giggling at the smallest things, even when nothing was happening. Eventually the two weren’t even paying attention to the movie, and more just goofing off with each other. Hinata had made a comment that made Nitori burst out laughing, and he pushed the redhead’s face away with a wiggly hand. “You are the the biggest dork that ever existed ever, Hi-na-chaaaannn.”
