Imagine.
Your caregiver notices as your eyes begin to get heavy and you nod in and out of sleep. They pull you close and ask if you're ready to go 'ni ni', you assure them you're not tired but caregivers know better. They pick you up from their lap and take you to the kitchen where they make you a warm sippy/bottle of milk. Its sweet and fills your little tummy making you even more sleepy. Your caregiver then carries you to your room and changes you into a fresh diaper. It makes you feel clean and safe and even more small now. They then dress you in a cute onesie and give you your paci and favorite stuffie before whispering goodnight and turning out the lights.
Little Space Isn’t Always a Cute Thing
Sometimes it’s putting on a Disney movie to drown out negative thoughts and to calm you down.
Sometimes it’s crying into your stuffies chest and venting to them about your big problems.
Sometimes it’s sucking on your paci, because you’re so anxious you feel like you might explode.
~~
It’s not always cute and aesthetic, but it is yours. Do what you need to do to be happy.
Best coping mechanism in the world 💕

☁️ “it's ok to be sad, honey. i’m here for you. is there anything that i can do to help?”
✨ “how should we figure this out together?”
☁️ “do you need to have alone time? i respect if you do just tell me when youare ready to talk again.”
✨ “i’m sorry that you're going through this, would you like talk about this with me?”
please remember that not all littles are good at communication so they might need some time to express what is wrong or happening in their life. another thing, take your time to listen to your little. that's very important.

You are not broken.
I keep seeing the term “broken little” to describe a little who is traumatized or otherwise strongly affected by being hurt by someone they trusted, usually in the context of their relationship with an ex caregiver.
Please ! do not spread this label !
It promotes the idea that simply being scared, untrusting, or emotionally scarred makes someone broken. It makes these littles out to be weak and wrong. Seeing posts about “broken little” things and relating to them imprints the idea on people that they are inherently emotionally damaged beyond repair. This is not the message to give out to a community centered around a coping mechanism, with most of the community already having mental health difficulties outside of any regression related problems.
If your paranoia prevents you from quickly bonding with a caregiver you are not broken.
If you easily feel like nobody wants you even when it’s not true you are not broken.
If you get flashbacks or triggered by little things that others don’t understand you are not broken.
If you are unable to do certain things because of similar past situations that went wrong you are not broken.
If you are traumatized at all you are not broken.
“Broken littles” are not a thing. There is no such thing as being “broken.” The fact that you are reading this right now just proves how strong you are even in your weakest moments. So to everyone in the agere community, please stop using that term.
i want this!
