STUDENT SPOTLIGHT ALERT, this week we have Idiot Rewrites on deck, we asked them some q’s and they gave us some a’s!
We are a group of 3 idiots who think they can do better than the professionals. Each week we tackle a terrible TV show or movie, or even sometimes just a whole person (our Noah Centineo episode). Originally we would actually sit down and rewrite the show to make it better, but since then we’ve devolved into pure tomfoolery.
How did you come up with this concept and how do you decide what topic to pick every week?
The show began with Lydia and Ava. The first idea was to do some sort of story podcast, but that seemed like a lot of work. Stemming from a shared love (and hatred) of the show Teen Wolf, they decided to make a show all about fixing the worst parts about TV. The day of our first show, Grace just hung around during the planning stages, and the vibe was just too good. Lydia and Ava asked her to stay and the rest was history.

What are you currently watching and will you rewrite that ever?
Ava: I’m currently toying around with the idea of becoming a nerd again. In high school I was really into DC comics, so I’ve been watching all those CW superhero shows. I would love to rewrite them but Grace and Lydia aren’t really interested. It’s probably for the best.
Grace: I’m currently not watching any shows right now! It’s great cause my computer won’t let me watch any streaming service cause it’s too old. So some might say, I’m riding that high
Lydia: Rewatching Schitts Creek because obviously a show with a shit pun in the title is the peak of comedy. I think if we tried to rewrite it Dan Levy's eyebrows would come to Purchase and murder us, and they are stronger than all of us combined, so better safe than sorry
Grace: Vine, are you kidding?
Lydia: I've never cried because of a Vine but I have because of a Tik Tok so you tell me
Ava: Um, how about a BOOK? You ever heard of BOOKS? Just kidding, I can’t read. I grew up with Vine, so I’d have to say that.
Besides Birdgram, who would your ideal cohost be?
Ava: My dream is to do another Riverdale episode with Lili Reinhart. Once she’s out of her contract I think she’ll have a lot to say about the show. (I’d also like to marry her someday).
Grace: I’d like to have my friend Maggie on the show. She’s great.
Lydia: Can I say Ansel Elgort? I think his cokehead energy would be a perfect fit for us
