No one like Him.

Ya Allah, I turn to You alone; do not leave me dependent on anything that breaks me. Aameen.

There are parts of you that do not have words, only weight. Yet even there, Allah is present. In times where you feel most alone, He is closer than anything you can sense. Nothing you carry in silence is ever hidden from Him, and nothing you endure is ever wasted.

Ya Allah, Al-Hakeem, grant me patience and understanding, and replace my hardship with peace. Ameen.

Book: Whispers of Love, Hope and Contentment

Yesterday I witnessed a conversation I might never forget.

My nanu (grandpa), bedridden for months and longing only to stand before Allah in prayer as he once did, was speaking to my mother over the phone. My mother, too, has been carrying her own quiet tests for some time. As they spoke, they asked one another for forgiveness, in case love had ever hurt, in case words had ever fallen short, in case this was the last time their voices would meet.

And I just listened.

It felt like watching two hearts gently prepare for a reality neither wished to name.

I looked at my mother. I thought of my father. And I understood how helpless love can feel when those you would give everything for are carrying what you cannot remove.

There is a chapter of life no one prepares you for: when your parents begin to age before your eyes, and those who once carried your whole world now carry their own pain.

You want to heal them. To take it all away. To bargain with time itself.

But some things belong only to Allah.

So we surrender what our hands cannot hold.

Ya Allah, grant shifa to every soul in pain. Ease the affairs of those who are struggling. Grant patience to the hearts that stay awake wishing they could do more. Aameen.

I always think my poems are whispering the same truth: do not let go.

Yet life is a series of quiet farewells.

Perhaps one day I will learn the beauty of surrender, to find peace not only in what remains, but also in what Allah, in His Mercy, chooses to keep with Him.

Until then, I write. I pray. I love them while I still can.

Shaykh muh‌ammad ibn s‌ālih‌ al-ʿuthaymīn (رحمه الله) stated:

“any knowledge which is a means of benefit, will be a cause of benefit for you after your death. even if you were to teach people a sunnah from the sunan of the rawātib. or a sunnah of what’s performed or said in the prayer, which people will benefit from after your death. you will obtain an on-going reward for it.

so, all knowledge which is benefited from, even if it was a little. it will be written for the person after their death.”

[فتخ ذي الجلال والإكرام • ٢٨٧/١]

At times, the best thing to do for someone in need or experiencing hardship, is not to give advice but to make a quiet dua for them. A heart that's troubled might not listen to reasons. If possible, help whatever we can silently, without offering any words of wisdom or advice.
