It’s nothing short of a pleasant sight on the Hive Beach. The hordes of beach-goers are having fun with such pursuits as playing games, building sandcastles, swimming, and otherwise relaxing.

Suddenly -- nonchalantly -- even,

the sight of a small pig with a keg strapped on his back comes into view. He’s shouting something as he pushes his stocky frame forward on his tiny legs. What it is, you wonder? Well...

There is still a lot about this city, that Arthur doesn’t understand. A lot of magic everywhere. It has to be magic, right? A carriage of steel, without horses, and yet-…

He stops, when someone suddenly calls his name. A familiar voice. His eyes widen and he looks around. Up here? He looks up, and there he is… on a roof. Arthur’s expression brightens up immediately.

“Sir Meliodas!! It’s so good to see you!” It is indeed a relief to see a familiar face in the midst of this bewildering place.

Everything should be fine on the roof, right? As if anyone would dare to steal the roof tiles or the tools he has resting by his feet. He glances around and decides it’s as good a time as any to take a break. It’s not every day that he finds someone familiar in this foreign land that he can hold a conversation with.

He no sooner leaps from the unfinished edge of the roof -- never mind that there is a ladder secured near the building. It’s not too high for him to negotiate a safe landing, which he springs upright again after his feet strike the ground.

“And a pleasure to see you too! So they brought ya here too, huh? This really is an unfortunate occurrence... ”

“ H-Hold still, hold still dammit! “ Fighting with apparently a colossal squid in the waters of the beach would Toriko be wrestling with its tentacles. Given he still wasn’t full strength as of late it posed.. an annoyance. That was until one good sock to the eye finally put it down as he began to drag its body out of the waters. 

“ Alright! I’m up for some jumbo sized calamari! We just need to flour this bad boy up and fry him good! “

With all the mundane activities taking place on the beach, it was hard to ignore something so ostentatious as a man apparently wrestling a giant beast into submission. Meliodas did just about what anyone else would have done in a situation as this -- he stood idly, as a spectator, and watched the whole fight transpire.

Well, it ended as quickly as it began and wasn’t much of a fight really. But he acted impressed, nonetheless.

“Ohh, good job!” he quipped, applauding at the man’s efforts. At the request he’d ease his more serious expression into a grin, and continued, “Not sure where you’re gonna find a sack of flour big enough to cover that around here, but I’d be willing to help ya out!” Anything for food, really; the pig at his side would heartily agree to this.

The sound of the blonde man came to his ears, looking over as he seemed to be walking with a pig, one with some sort of funny charm on his neck. “ Ohh, I was just scoping the place out. Got magically sent here out of the blue, unless this is a dream. If it is, i’m disappointed. You wouldn’t happen to know if any restaraunts are around do you? Looking for some work. “ saying respectfully to the blonde, looking at the pig as he smirked. “ Perhaps we can have some bacon~ huh? Although i’d never cook a companion of someones. “

Meliodas didn’t show a hint of surprise in his explanation; it was a rather commonplace occurrence for people to think they were in some sort of dream after being taken here, wasn’t it? He himself couldn’t explain it, but he could at least grasp there was some other seemingly sinister force at work.

That much, he knew.

On hearing his query, he quirked a brow, a tilt of his head in interest. “Well, I hate to disappoint, but Hawk here isn’t meal material, and this isn’t a dream.” The recent war rendered the small pig all but suitable for being eaten. That aside... “But the good news is this place has got quite the variety of restaurants around! If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m sure you can find something pretty easily!”

A hard day working on a roof under the summer sun was exactly how Meliodas envisioned he should spend his time. With shingle in hand he firmly positioned it next to the previously secured one, making sure the edges were flush with each other before he proceeded to secure it.

Idly he passed a hand across his brow, wiping a bit of sweat from it, when his gaze had no sooner been led to a single passerby on the ground below. Whether his eyes were truly deceiving him was a matter for another time; regardless, for now, he was certain that he knew this person and he couldn’t simply let them pass without at least having acknowledged them.

“Oh! Arthur! Heeeeeey~! Up here!” he springs upright and shouts, waving at his friend. “It’s been a long time!”

“ Job…job….this is a city, so surly I can find a place that serves food. If I can get that, I might be able to scrap on by till I figure out stuff here. I wonder if they have normal ingredients like back home…”

Two bags, one in each hand, and his porcine companion at his side, Meliodas walks back to his apartment. It’s as any other day, except the sight of someone who’s rather deep in his thoughts and mumblings prompts a pause from the duo.

Whatever it is that concerns the other, Meliodas turns his head and boisterously addresses the man.

“Excuse me, is there something I can help you with?” It’s the least he can do, considering he hasn’t had much of anything to do since being transported here.
