I’m at The crossroads

I’ve bathed in alignment And thrown it To the street

I’m burning My hesitancy Letting potential Hang In the air

Owning my life Is skydiving; being buffeted By wind

I’ve never felt so scared I’ve never felt More Alive

If I hit the ground At least I chose it

I try to remind myself I deserve a love More freely Given One that never asks me To hunt

But his eyes Don’t do what hers Do

His touch Doesn’t make an animal Of my heart Beating Against caged ribs To find her

I wish it did

He is everything Good And she loves without Foundation

Fatigue

It’s pulling me Down

I’m kicking Fighting To get to the surface

My hand Breaks Through

Everyone sees The above but no one Can imagine The below

Not unless you’re in it too

Not unless you know What it is To drown In a dry Body

i love you and i have been pretending i don’t remember that warmth

i want you and i am terrified of needing you

Is a home On fire

I can’t take all of you With me

What I have is Singed and Barely Alive

The truth of our effort Enriches the ground And makes space for another Love

One without you, but not Without You

My heart reaching Through the bars of its cage To hold the hand Of your fear and Want

We both know it doesn’t take much For you to run But neither of us knows If those words are spoken From planted feet; Rooted in Us or Hips angled Toward desolate freedom

I hope you choose me

I know you won’t

His smell Is all over me

But she’s the one who’s under my skin

The marks he Left On my neck Are no match For what she’s inflicted On my heart

He whispers adoration In my ear and She visits me In my dreams; Holds my face as though Softness named itself After each Of her fingers

Years ago, she Would have torn you apart Left you open To the crows

But you’re older and today She’s just A bruise

Stark bright And already Fading

memories of you are a twist in the chest

is to be in love to give my heart away? or to give you full control to pierce it how you please

you take my breath away twice first, when you touch me and second, when i remember you’ll never touch me again

I know you think You’re safe

That This Is where it’s at

But you’re not jumping With the rest of us

It is far sadder To rifle through people And never fall Than it is to fall And feel its full force

You’ll never get hurt, but You’ll never get To hurt
