moira in overwatch’s retribution, 2018
Retribution Legendary Mode (All Heroes).
Hero composition:
Orisa - Shield, Damage output and no spread, halt ability, fortify stops heavy assaults, supercharger is an amazing damage buff
Bastion - High damage output, self healing if needed, armor in turret form, can hit snipers in ulted form if needed
Mei - Ice wall blocks immense amounts of damage. cryofreeze can bait enemy abilities, block chokes, regen health, and revive teammates. Her freeze ability is crucial to beating heavy assaults, as it stops their constant fire. Blizzard is a godsend.
Mercy - Resurrect and Valkyrie. Resurrect can bring up downed teammates in a shorter time than what it would normally be. Valkyrie should be used to increase healing to sustain the team, and can also double as a supercharger. Valkyrie also has the uninterrupted self heal.
----
In the starting room, set up in the room with the broken window. This limits enemies to two doorways that bastion can shoot down. Bastion can set up behind the table and still fire, but hide most of his hitbox.
Mei should mostly stay behind the shield, but it is also viable to lurk in the corners of the rooms to get a freeze on enemies coming in. Use ice wall on a choke if the team is getting overwhelmed. Cryofreeze can block enemies from getting into the room in one choke as well. Mercy and Orisa should support bastion, but Mercy should focus on keeping the team topped off.
Your first obstacle is the assassin. As soon as she spawns, clump up tightly together. Fight any enemies that get near until you hear her advancing on you. As soon as she hops on a teammate or you know she is about to, melee to immediately get her off. If Mei does not melee, she has a chance to freeze the assassin. Rinse and repeat and no one should die to the assassin. If it is coming for Mei, she can cryofreeze to make the assassin vulnerable to attacks. Alternatively, Mei can ice wall the assassin to give her team time until it attacks. Careful, it will continue its charge when the wall falls.
The door has been breached.
Handle all of the enemies near the breached door. You should attack them when they all come into the small circular breach door. Mercy should walk outside to activate the enemies, and then guardian angel back to the safety of her team. Mei should prioritize freezing the Enforcers.
Your next obstacle is the drop ship + assassin. As soon as the assassin spawns, or shortly after, drop Blizzard. The enemies from the drop ship and possibly the assassin will be frozen. Focus the assassin first, and she should die.
Next, proceed up the staircase to where the first sniper would be in a normal mode. Set up Orisa’s shield in the window with the bastion. Mei, this is where your palms will sweat. Send mercy to trigger the enemies and then fly back. Mei’s job is to protect the staircase on the left. Bastion can turn to kill any enforcers. Mei also has to be aware of the back and right staircase. If the Orisa shield is down and your Orisa has no shield up, Ice wall the window while your team gets ready.
Here comes the sniper.
Mei, I hate to tell you, but it’s on you to take that thing out. Your icicle does a surprising amount of damage on headshot. Bastion, if your Mei is struggling, ult and snipe from your position. Just be wary of your sides.
Next is the window room. Kill the three enemies that crash through the windows, and then ice wall your team up to the second floor. From there, set up your shield in one of the windows. Mei should try to take out the snipers, but this is difficult with how thin the windows are. As soon as one is down, taking the other down is quite simple. Don’t be afraid to use ice wall to protect your team. Orisa should try to focus the snipers. Bastion should try to cover the team as much as he can. Mercy, may the gods have mercy on your soul, and may you be able to heal past this chaos.
Next area is another assassin. Use the blizzard strategy as well as clumping up and you should be fine.
After this area will be your first heavy assault. Stay away from the bridge and instead head into the blue building on the side. Head up the stairs, and set up on the balcony. The heavy should trigger, and this should be simple. Mei should try to freeze it at any opportunity. Blizzard works well here. As soon as it makes it to the top of the stairs, send in blizzard. Bastion and Orisa should unload hell as mei hits the back of the heavy. Mei should be ready to freeze the heavy when blizzard ends. Orisa, activate fortify when the heavy charges you. Bastion is your main damage dealer, and getting him downed here will be risky. Luckily, Mei can ice wall so mercy has a scot free resurrect. Supercharger should be saved until this part, or charged up after a previous use.
After you bring down your first heavy, proceed to the beginning of the art gallery. You should have charged blizzard again from the last fight. Activate blizzard when you hear the assassin. This area should be simple.
The last area...
Set up on the balcony right above where you first came in. Mercy should NOT exit the art gallery until the rest of the team is set up in that area. Mercy should walk out of the gallery, and guardian angel up to the team. Your enemy now has only two spots where they can get close. Assassin is going to be a problem, as there are a lot more enemies to deal with. Blizzard should work again, but you still need to worry about out of range troopers. Do not try to attack the assassin if it pins someone. Simply punch it. You cannot risk extra damage here.
The two snipers that spawn will either be easy if you’ve mastered the headshot icicles, or a terrible experience if you miss your shots. They deal heavy hits to the shield and the ice wall. It should be possible to take out the first sniper easily, and dispose with the second as quickly as possible.
Here comes the two heavy assaults.
Focus one at a time. If they approach from the same staircase, blizzard will work well. Otherwise, try to separate the two with an ice wall. Your chances of living are increased if one of them is unable to attack, whether they be frozen or blocked off. Orisa, fortify when they charge. A charge is an insta kill to anyone else on your team, minus maybe bastion. If you kill one of the heavies, the other should not be that difficult to take out.
Mei, as usual, you need to use your ice wall to give your mercy time to heal or resurrect. If anyone on your team falls, it’s up to you to protect or revive. Mercy, Valkyrie is a must here. Orisa, drop supercharger when they approach. Bastion, you probably shouldn’t ult. Just unleash hell.
When you take out your last opponent, haul ass to the drop ship. If you don’t get on the ship, you deserve to die.
----
Apologies if this guide did not touch up on the other three heroes that well. I played through as Mei with 0 incapacitations, and it was pretty stressful when all three of your teammates are downed.
Good luck out there, and may your trials be victorious.
Please people, get on the ship.
We hit 1000 notes and I nearly deleted the original post on accident lol
What the fuck
Please people, get on the ship.
i… i never thought i’d ever say these words, but… stop slandering genji, we all know it’s mccree that tries for that last minute highest kill count
Ah yes, the mccrees who do not know that even a fully charged deadeye cannot kill a heavy unit. Your wish is my command
Please people, get on the ship.
