Happy Birthday, Anthony Mackie! September 23rd, 1978.
Please read!
Hi everyone, how are you? Iâm doing quite well, even though Iâve been home for the past six months, Iâve been enjoying myself. I do hope that you can stay home while you can, and if you must go to work, I hope youâre taking all the precautions necessary.
Okay, letâs cut to the chase. Iâm closing this tumblr. In fact, Iâm closing all my blogs. Tumblr is so draining that even if Iâm not here, Iâm always thinking about what things I should be posting and how the stuff I post never gets any notes. And that sucks.
I believe marvel fan fiction has kinda come to a low point in this website and itâs just not worth it. I will keep writing because I donât want these ideas to go to waste, but everything will be posted to my AO3, WritingForTheAvengers, from now on, as it has been for the past few years.
I want to thank everyone for being with me through these five years, CAN YOU BELIEVE IT??? Iâm so grateful for all the amazing people Iâve met and the friends who have stuck with me. Thanks so much!
Look for me in AO3, theres exclusive content as well đ WritingForTheAvengers

who the hell looked into my brain?
i was waiting for her to post because i always noticed that the two of them had a special bond during the Black Panther press releases. chadwick even said once that the minute he saw her, he just knew that she would be his sister, and not just on-screen; letitia, on the other hand, often referred to him as her big brother.
i pray that tish is receiving all the love and support she needs right now to get through this. iâm gonna miss seeing these two together.
i love you 3000, chadwick.

And he did this just before a road trip, stuck in the car with his parents asking what he was thinking.
The look of utter defiance Dudley gives Vernon as he steps over the fence thoughÂ
And how he does it really slowly as well as if to say âWhat you gonna do about it huh?â
The phone rings. It was an absurd wedding gift from his father in-law, and one which much to Harryâs surprise, had actually worked when heâd plugged it into the landline. Arthur had taken to phoning him on it, just for the pure novelty of the thingâthough how theyâd managed to get a BT engineer out to the Burrow without causing an incident, Harry doesnât know. Heâs not sure he wants to.
âHello?â
âUhm,, is thisâŠis this the Potter residence?â
Thereâs a beat of silence as Harry adjusts the receiver against his ear, not quite sure heâs heard who he thinks he has. ââŠDudley?â
âYeaâŠuhm, Harry?â
âDudley.â Harry repeats numbly, turning to look at Ginny who is looking at him expectantly, eyebrows raised. âUhâŠChrist, Dudley, hi how didâŠhow did you find this number?â
Thereâs another beat of silence and the crackle of static that might have been a sigh or simply just the line breaking up. âHi, sorry I know you probablyâŠsorry this was stupid. I uh, I put your name in the computer and this was the only thing that came up.â
âOh.â Harry breathes, still trying to recover his equilibrium. Ten minutes ago heâd been using his wand to clear away dinner, heâd been getting ready to sit down and read through some reports before putting the kids to bed, and now somehow, heâs talking to his muggle cousin who he hasnât seen sinceâŠÂ âHow, how are you?â
âGood, yeaâ Dudley replies, seeming to rally, âYou?â
âYea, uh, doing wellâŠâ
The conversation lasts maybe a half hour, faltering and awkward. But theyâre going for a coffee at the end of the week and Harry supposesâŠthatâsâŠthatâs a thing that is happening.
*
âHarryâŠâ
Harry turns and looks up, and looks up some more at the looming figure blocking out the light.Â
âDudley,â he says, standing up and hoping the pang of something awful doesnât show on his face. For a moment he thought heâd been looking at Vernon. âItâs good to see you.â
Dudley gives him a look that says he clearly knows Harry is lying, but is thankful for being humored. âYou too, youâre looking goodâŠâ
They pass the  first few minutes with awkward pleasantries and even more awkward silences. But itâsâŠnice would be too strong a word, but itâs not bad either. He even manages to get a smile out of him when he calls him Big D, the other man shaking his head with a self depreciating eye roll.
âDad died,â Dudley says after a while, and Harry feels an icy hot flash go down his spine, curdling in his gut.
âOh,â he says, not quite sure how heâs supposed to feel about that, âIâm sorry to hear that.â
Dudley snorts into his coffee. âSomehow I doubt it.â and itâs not accusing, but Harry still canât help but feel like he should defend himself. The words they locked me in a cupboard are on the cusp of his tongue but Dudley gets there before him. âThereâs a lot of thingsâŠlooking backâŠlot of thingsâŠâ and itâs not an apology, not really. âTook me a long time to realize certain things werenât rightâŠtoo long.âÂ
Harry nods at that, because yes, it had also taken him a long time too to understand the full of extent of what had gone on in 4 Privet Drive. He still doesnât like tight spaces.
âYou realize things though, when you have kids,â Dudley carries on, shaking his head, âLike theyâre just kids, how can you do that to a kid? They need you for everything.â
And Harry can relate to that too. Lily is three and Ginny is pregnant again and James already has an alarming alacrity for finding trouble and with or without magic Harry doesnât have enough hands to deal with it all. But he loves it, and he loves them, and the thought of anyone ever treating his children the way he remembers his first eleven years of life is enough to make the electric lights over their head flicker.Â
âYouâve got kids?â
âTwo,â Harry says, âthird one on the way. You?â
âNice. Just the one, so far.â He hands over his phone, the image of a bright young girl with dark skin and tight ringlet curls staring back at him from the grasp of Dudleyâs arms. âEffie.â He smiles ruefully at Harryâs obvious surprise. âDad wasnât too happy about that either.â
âSheâs gorgeous.â Harry says, handing the phone back and pulling out his own wallet to reveal the moving pictures inside.Â
Dudley flinches a bit at that, but he guffaws broadly when he spies James. âCor, he donât half look like you. No glasses though.â
âNo,â Harry says, pushing his own glasses back up his nose. âHeâs got his motherâs eyes, thankfully.â
âActually, Harry, there was something I was hoping we couldâŠtalk about.â
And ah, there it is. âWhat about?â
âItâsâŠitâs about EffieâŠâ
And when heâs done talking Harry just wants to lean back and laugh and laugh and laugh, because of course Vernon Dudleyâs granddaughter is a witch, of course she is. But he doesnât, because Dudley is doing the one thing he can think of to try and help his child, and Harry canât fault him for that.
*
They keep in touch after that. Christmas cards, postcardsâgifts for the kids on birthdays. The year Effie turns elevenâthe same as JamesâHarry drops a casually long thought out text into the familial void.
âDiagon A this weekend, if youâre up for it?â
The text comes back quickly, a little too quickly for the way Dudders pecks at his phone whenever Harry has seen him typing. âSnds gd, 1st pint on u ;-) - Big D đșđșđșđđâ
Itâll be painfully awkward, it always is. But itâs something.

Out of jealousy, Nat proposes a bet to Clint, and though reluctant at first, he accepts. If Clint makes this girl fall in love with him within a year, he will get Natâs apartment, but if he loses, she will claim his new apartment.Clint doesnât like the idea of putting his heart on the line, but the idea of a free car and a jealous Nat is very tempting.

â Part 1  â Part 2 â Part 3Â
There was a wide spectrum of things Clint didnât like to do, but dancing, strangely, was one of his favorite things. He didnât do it often, at least not surrounded by a bunch of sweaty strangers, but now that he lived alone in a brand new apartment, he enjoyed the privacy to work on his moves. The one person he liked to dance with was Natasha. He liked Natasha, he could even say he loved her, and for many reasons; first and foremost, they knew each other for a very long time, and even though they had changed and grown, it felt as if they had done it together.
But there he was, dancing with a stranger. She was a lot younger than him, probably in her late twenties, and she was clearly nervous to be around him. She didnât look at him, or did so very quickly and glanced away or closed her eyes, feeling the beat drum all through her body.
Clint wasnât drunk enough to forget about the bet that Natasha had proposed, and though he liked a good game and a better bet, he didnât like the idea of playing with someoneâs feelings. Especially if his were on the line of fire too; this girl didnât have any kind of participation in his life other than the incidental exchange of looks, but apparently Natasha wasnât okay with it. He knew he had it coming, since he wasnât okay with what she used to have with that blind, fighting-crime dude from Hellâs Kitchen.
A song he didnât know started playing, but the girl apparently did because she gasped, and she grabbed her friendâs arm to sing something in what it seemed like Spanish. Then, it had a weird suspense sound coming, like the one in old shark movies, and his dancing partner changed personalities completely.
âMami, que tu quiereâ? AquĂ llegĂł tu tiburĂłn,â she quickly got rid of her inhibitions and started dancing on her own, forgetting completely Clint was even there. âYo quiero perrearte y fumarme un blunt, ver lo que esconde ese pantalĂłnâŠâ
She made a beckoning sign at him and she started rubbing herself onto him. She was so naturally careless, and though Clint was holding onto her hips, he wasnât completely sure if he want enjoying it. She placed her arms on his shoulders and looked at him seductively, batting her eyelashes and tugging at her bottom lip. From up-close, she was very attractive, and the sheer layer of sweat that had gathered on her forehead gave her another kind of glow, not necessarily a literal one, but there was something new about her, something he liked very much.
She looked at him again, focusing on his lips and then on his eyes and smirking naughtily. It was so out of the sudden; it hit Clint like a snowball to the face, but there he was, leaning in to crash his lips against hers and holding on tightly to her waist. She grazed her fingers on the nape of his neck and along his short hair at the back of his head; discovering a soft spot that, until then, only Natasha had had any access to.
Her lips molded perfectly with his, and her mouth was just a little bit open for her to slightly slide her tongue on his bottom lip. Clintâs grip on her waist tightened, and he pressed her against his body harshly, eliciting a soft, nasty moan from her perfectly plump lips. One of his hands roamed up her arm and shoulder to meet the back of her head, at the base of her hairline. He kept her in place, as they were no longer dancing with the music; they were at another pace, a pace of their own.
She broke the kiss and continued to dance away from him, but only at the reach of his arms. He felt flustered and kinda bothered. He didnât remember the last time a girl made him feel like that, and though he didnât really mind, he did feel a certain attraction to her. He grabbed her arm and made her twirl, only to make her press her back against his. She held on to the back of his neck as she swayed her well secured hips. Clint was holding on to the hem of her jeans while pulling her closer, but there was no space left in between them. She rested her head on his shoulder as she sang loudly to the lyrics of, yet another song he didnât know.
She turned around one last time and placed her hands around his shoulders to pull him closer to her. Clint was already too into it to care about Natashaâs glare a few meters away.
âIâm getting kinda thirsty,â she said to his ear in a raspy voice. âIâm gonna go get a drink.â
âLet me come with you,â Clint offered.
Natasha saw the two walk away to the bar and then towards the table. She told her dancing partner to with her, and on their way to the table, she dragged Bucky along.
â(Y/N), hey!â Natashaâs dancing partner exclaimed as she met her, apparent, friend at the table. Clint repeated the name in his mind over and over again as if he feared heâd forget it. âThought youâd ditch me!â She went so sit next to her friend.
âIt seemed to me like you were in good company,â she chuckled lightly, squeezing closer towards Clint, who had a hand on her thigh and the other around her back. âHey,â she greeted the two strangers. The redhead that had her hand intertwined with Bailey earlier was looking threateningly at her, and (Y/N) felt suddenly intimidated, and shrunk smaller and smaller in the seat. She leaned onto Clint, trying to regain confidence again.
âBuck, help me get us all a couple of beers, would you?â The redhead smiled widely, but (Y/N) couldnât seem to buy it or trust it. âWeâll be right back,â she swayed her hips as she walked to the bar.
âSo, (Y/N),â Clint said in a seductive voice. âIt seems like you have a name,â he teased. âIâm Clint, by the way, Clint Barton.â
âNice to meet you,â you smiled and pecked his lips swiftly. â(Y/N) (Y/L/N).â
âIâm Bailey Miller, in case you were wondering,â Bailey chimed in. âIâm this bitchâs best friend,â she pointed at her friend, âand I do need to ask, is your friend single?â
âBucky? Yeah, I guess so,â he shrugged. âWhy?â
âYeah great,â Bailey said carelessly, âbut I was talking about your other friend, the redhead one⊠I think she said her name was Natalia, but with the music I couldnât really her.â
âNatasha is the name we all call her, but Nataliaâs good too. Sheâs single, as far as I know,â Clint blinked perplexed, and though he knew Natasha liked women too, it was the first time in perhaps forever, that he didnât care who Natasha was with, âbut Iâm not sure if she likes women,â he lied.
âMaybe,â Bailey tilted her head to both sides, âbut the way she kissed me back there didnât really give me a straight vibe,â she shrugged carelessly. (Y/N) kicked her friendâs shin under the table for not thinking before speaking. Bailey glared at her for a split second. âRude,â she hissed.
Natasha and Bucky came back with the drinks and the new acquaintances shared some more vague details about their lives. Clintâs hand grazed lazily over (Y/N)âs thigh, drawing irregular shapes on the fabric. He kissed her head lightly every once in a while, which seemed to bother Natasha very much.
Clint loved it when Natasha was jealous. It was so obvious, and when she had more alcohol in her blood it was a fun spectacle to watch. Bucky watched his two friends stir the sexual tension between them, but he did notice that Clint held (Y/N) in a strange manner. Maybe the alcohol had gotten to his head, but he couldâve sworn that Clint had never hold Nat like that.
âI think weâre gonna head off,â (Y/N) gently patted Clintâs lap. âIâve got work to do tomorrow, and I need to finish it,â she pursed her lips. âIt was nice to meet you, Clint Barton,â she giggled softly and kissed his cheek. âBailey, come on,â she pointed at the door with a quick movement of her head.
âYouâre not gonna give me your number?â Clint pouted.
âWhy donât you give me yours and Iâll call you,â (Y/N) offered. She wasnât really interested in exchanging numbers with him. It was all fun and games, but she thought it should stay that way. Though Clint insisted, her answer remained negative. She didnât like when men insisted too much about anything, it made her lose interest right away. She stood up. âBye guys,â she waved them goodbye and started walking away.
Natasha and Bailey exchanged a few more words and the redhead walked her new conquest to the door. They shared one last kiss, and then the spy came back to her table, feeling rather triumphant, unlike Clint.
âAlright, Nat,â Clint said, feeling hot and bothered, and especially frustrated because he couldnât get that girlâs number. âYouâre on.â
A wide smile spread on the redheadâs lips. âGood.â

You decided to extend your stay for a couple of weeks since you had friends and graves to visit, and just when you had lost all hope on Tony, he called you to meet that exact same day. He asked you out to a nice restaurant you once went to when you were at the beginning of your relationship. You had good memories of it, and you hoped there would be some more.
You werenât sure why you had said yes without hesitating, it seemed as if you were still at his beck and call. But as you stepped out of your hotel and took the subway to meet him you started to regret it. You were completely sober, and it was the only way you could ever have this conversation, especially if it would decide the fate of your story with Tony Stark.
The time that took you to the restaurant only made you miserable, because it was an excellent moment to relive all the good stuff that happened with him. There were so many, even through the sad times there was a way to find happiness. He made you incredibly happy, and there was no way to deny that. Even now, you could swear he could still make you happy.
He welcomed you with a warm hug in which you couldâve stayed forever, and then he walked you to the table he had booked for the two of you. At first, all you had was small talk, and you realized you hadnât got any better at it. He asked about what things you had done these last couple of days and if you had visited Rhodey to talk, but then Tonyâs face changed drastically and you got scared.
âI feel like I have no reason or right to ask this,â he left his cutlery on the table and rested his back on the chair, âbut is there someone in your life?â
âWow,â you choked with the wine you were drinking. âI was not expecting that. No, thereâs no one in my life.â
âWhat about Steve?â
âWhy Steve?â You rolled your eyes. âWhy do you have to ask about him or talk about him? When I left you asked about him too, even after I told you countless times I had nothing to do with him.â
âIt just seems like a possibility to me,â Tony shrugged. âI always feared youâd leave me to go with him.â
âTonyâŠâ you tugged at your bottom lip. âThe way Steve and I broke up was so nasty, and it took me so long to actually forgive him that I could never be with him again. Weâre great friends now, but weâre not the same friends we used to be. Besides, Steve got married to Sharon. Heâs very much in love with her, and so is she. Thereâs some distance between us now, and weâre trying to build the bridge again, I suppose itâs for her. I mean it, Steve and I have been through enough to not be together ever again. We fell in love, fell out, and we forgave each other. Weâre just friendsâfamily now I guess.â
âI just thoughtâŠâ
âYou think too much sometimes, and you donât get to the right conclusions. What about you? Any special lady with you?â
âNot physically at least. She doesnât live here in the StatesâŠâ
âOh,â you couldnât say anything more. Deep inside you wished Tony was still single, getting back together was a real possibility until a few seconds ago.
âIâm talking about you, silly,â he chuckled. âYou donât live in the States. Youâve always been my special lady. Even when I didnât have you. I loved you, and god knows I still do, (Y/N).â
âI love you too,â you confessed before your brain could stop you. âBeing without you has been terrible sometimes,â you shook your head. âIâm always on the verge of calling you, texting you⊠trying to know anything from you, but then I think youâve moved on and I get a bit sad because I donât think I have. I know I look like I have my shit together, but⊠truth is that if Iâm not working, then Iâm thinking about you, and thatâs no way of living, Tony⊠So I need to knowââ
âIâm sorry,â he chimed in a gloomy voice. âI know this apology comes in a little late, but Iâve been going over this with my doctor and Rhodey so many times and I still donât know how to put it into words, but I suppose itâs just gut feeling, right? Itâs always that,â he smiled quickly. âIâm sorry, (Y/N). Iâm so sorry for putting you in danger. Iâm sorry for making you feel betrayed and not loved, even when I loved you so much. Iâm sorry for going behind your back. Iâm sorry for breaking us up. Iâm sorry for making you leave the country. But above all of this, Iâm sorry for making you feel the same way you felt with Steve. We talked about it before, and we promised each other to not make the same mistakes, but I did the opposite and I hurt you⊠I never wanted to hurt you, because youâre the best thing that has happened to me in a very long time.â
Your eyes filled with tears when you heard the words you had waited for. You didnât even know what to say, or even if you should say anything. You pursed your lips tightly and looked away. You thanked the dim lighting of the restaurant because you were not on your best look by then.
âYou were wrong when you said I didnât change,â he said in a soft voice, reaching out his hand to yours. âI have, and you havenât been there to see it, but I know I haveâRhodey knows it too, and I wanted you to know it too. I know I shouldâve called or something, but I know you needed time to heal, and I have no idea how much it really hurt you, but if you had to move across the ocean to be safe, I suppose it was a lot. Iâm sorry for that, for all that happened between us. I never wanted things to end like this, but Iâm learningâstill learningâŠâ he looked at you with worried eyes. â(Y/N), can you please say something?â
âThis was not the apology I was expecting,â you shook your head. âDonât get me wrong, the one I settled for in my mind was way less than this, so I guess you have changed, butâŠâ you tugged at your bottom lip. âI donât really know what to sayâI never knew,â you stayed in silence a bit more. âTony, do you mind if go? I really donât think I can do this,â you collected your few belongings and hurried to leave.
Tony watched you leave again, but this time he was decided to not let you go. He got up right after you, grabbed your hand and made you turn. Your vision was blurry from the tears, but you knew he was in front of you, begging silently for you to not leave again.
âTony, donât make this harder pleaseâŠâ
âNo, because I saw you leaving once, and Iâm sure as hell not gonna let you go again,â he looked straight into your eyes. âThereâs no way we can go back to how we were because weâre not the same people anymore, (Y/N). Weâve changed, weâve grownâIâve grown.â
âWhat if weâre too different now?â
âYou said you loved me,â he pointed out, âthat you still do. Love is all we both needâall we ever needed,â you sighed heavily. âDonât even try to make up an excuse, (Y/N),â even after all these years he could still read you like a book, âwe didnât need an excuse to be together back then, we donât need it now.â
âI donât know if I can trust you again.â
âIf you can trust me or if you want to trust me?â Tony cocked an eyebrow. âLook, in the years we were together I never did anything to break your trust. Not a single thing, and you know thatâs true. We started in honesty, there was nothing secret in between us. I know that I fucked up real bad, and it cost me everything I had, everything I worked for and I know it was the same for you, but after Loki, shit started happening because of me only. I shouldnât have signed that crap, but here we are, alive and well after all⊠If you come back, I can promise you that youâll be safe, even if youâre not with meâŠâ Tony said softly. âI love you, (Y/N), and I donât know how to make that sink in that stubborn head of yours,â you looked away, trying to hold back the tears, but Tony held your face in between his hands. â(Y/N), I donât want to pick up where we left off, because weâre two different people now, but I want you to know that there is future with me. Iâve slowed down, the world has slowed down too⊠I just wanna be with you again, and thatâs about it.â
âStart over?â You whispered.
âYes, babe. Start over, make things rightâŠâ
âI wish I didnât love you this much,â you chuckled in between sobs. âOtherwise, I wouldâve just taken a plane back to my house⊠Oh, Iâve missed you so much, Stark,â you tugged at the collar of his vest and pulled him closer to press your lips against his.
His kiss gave you a sense of home that if gave you warm chills all over your body. His arms wrapped around your waist, and if you hadnât been at a public place, you wouldâve made love right there, but he drove back to the tower to calm his hunger for you.
You were everything he ever wanted, and all that he needed, and now that he had you in his arms, he would make sure to never hurt you again. It was hard, since he never really knew how to not break stuff; building suits was easy, building relationships with people not really. But with you it was easy, itâs like you had never left, and that you were still the couple from three years ago.
You were writhing underneath him, calling his name and feeling exactly like home. It took you a minute to realize that Tony was your home. Your heart was with him, and youâd make sure it never left his side.
âI love you,â Tony panted, pressing his sweaty forehead against yours. âI love you so much.â
âI love you too, Stark,â you smiled tiredly, holding his face with your hands. âYou up for another round?â You teased and Tony smiled wickedly.

A wide smile spread on the redheadâs lips. âGood.â
