I am happy to announce that the first chapter of the Pasha Saga novelization is live! This has been a blast to write, and I think I’m far enough in to start posting completed chapters. It’s definitely got a unique style, and that may take some getting used to. I’m not going to change the general narration style, but I’m happy to field any good-faith suggestions on how to best clarify or represent it.

As always, I welcome feedback on my work, so don’t be shy. :)

When his already-fraught relationship with Roy escalates to a confrontation, Hector must decide how to make amends— if he can stomach the thought of apologizing in the first place. Takes place a year before FE6.

Characters: Hector (POV); Roy, Cecilia, Lilina, Wolt, Wolt’s dog.

Summary: When his already-fraught relationship with Roy escalates to a confrontation, Hector must decide how to make amends— if he can stomach the thought of apologizing in the first place. Takes place a year before FE6.

Warnings: Mild blood.

Author’s Notes: When I started this fic a few years ago, it came from a desire to respond to the (mostly FEH) fandom’s portrayal of Hector harboring a seething, sitcom-dad-level hatred for Roy out of an instinct to “protect” his daughter. There were two directions I could go: write something fluffy in which Hector and Roy are already pals, or explore a scenario where Hector evolves from antipathy into respect and even love. And, while realistically I’m inclined to think Hector never had a problem with Roy (and FEH later basically confirmed this), one of those is a story and the other is not.

Also big shout-out to Kotaro Yamada for putting pandas in Lycia, which is the only part of Hasha no Tsurugi that is acceptable as canon

Words: 4.9K Genre: Friendship Rating: K Characters: Lilina (POV); Roy, Hector, Eliwood. Summary: When his pen pal comes to Pherae to visit, Roy’s embellishments may finally catch up with him. Takes place about 7 years before FE6. Technically a slight canon-divergence/AU, although even canon isn’t totally clear on when these two first met. Definitely sweet, but not without some gravity; I wanna say it’s more of a sea salt caramel than cotton candy. Warnings: None. Author’s Notes: I finished this about a week before I finished “Whetstone,” but I wanted to post it afterwards as a palette-cleanser of sorts (though one of the plot points is just a tad bittersweet if you did read “Whetstone”). If it’s not already apparent, I find the interim years between FE7 and FE6 really rich for story opportunities, and I really like how the characters ended up coming through in this. Special Thanks to /u/electrovalent and @brynnaillusart for previewing. @julystorms, you beta-read a WIP of this like, a geologic age ago, so thank you for that as well! Also, @markoftheasphodel, I accidentally ripped off The Secret Garden again, but at least I’m aware of it this time. P:

Words: 7.4K Genre: Drama Rating: T Characters: Marcus (POV); Eliwood, Roy (major roles); Hector, Rebecca, Lilina, Bors, Wolt, Lance (minor roles) Summary: Close, cold, and tireless as the waves upon the shore, Marcus shapes the ones history will remember. Takes place from three years prior to FE6 up into the events of Chapter 3. Bleak, but not hopeless. Warnings: Mortal injury and resulting (canon) character death.

Author’s Notes: One of several fics that were stuck in WIP hell for literal years. I do see the cracks in it a bit better now, but there’s a lot about this story that I’m very pleased with. Still, Marcus is a tough character to pin down, and I’m not going to pretend like my interpretation completely does him justice. I also wrote most of this before Heroes gave us the “Marcus tells Roy stories of Eliwood’s heroics” tidbit, which I think skews all three of their dynamics a bit differently than I’ve portrayed them.
