idk if this is a phenomenon that has a name yet but like. scheduling doctor's appointments when you work a 9-5 job is really fucking hard when said doctors' offices are also open 9-5 and closed any time i could actually make it without needing to take PTO. im lucky bc my boss doesn't care if i duck out for under an hour for medical stuff but he very easily could force me to submit PTO for all of it. staying healthy in this country is such a hellscape on so many levels
Especially if you don't get PTO and have to just take off work, or work customer/food service and don't have a reliable schedule so you don't know when you can schedule appointments for even if you don't necessarily work 9-5
The phenomenon does have a name! It's systemic ableism.
Our world is set up to dissuade and prevent disabled people from participating in society in any way. With the state of late-stage capitalism destroying unions and grind culture so normalized, this starts to affect abled people as well. If you prevent your employees from taking care of their health without punitive action, you not only keep your employees too tired to work around your anti-union bullshit and simultaneously keep disabled people out of the pool of applicants. I have at least one doctor's appointment per week, and have for the past 4 years or so. No employer will hire me despite it being illegal to discriminate based on my illness, and they use the structure of grind culture to circumvent that.
Disabled people have been rallying against this for decades. It is legal not to hire us as long as they come up with an excuse, and their excuse ends up hurting abled people as well, preventing you from getting basic care to make sure they don't have to extend accommodations to otherwise capable workers. It's a side-effect of systemic ableism and historical eugenics and I'm very sorry that you've been caught in it.
The answer to this is to unionize. It is illegal to prevent you from doing so. Unionize, ignore the company rhetoric about unions being a drain on you, and rally for health time PTO. Vote for the SSI Restoration Act, to raise disabled people's income to the poverty line after decades of gutting funds, and remember that we are at the root of this and need your help. We can work together and change things if we can remember that late stage capitalism is not the natural state of existence. The 40 hour work week was won by unions, and getting time off for your doctor's appointments will be, too, if you can put in the work.
Just don't leave us disabled people behind when you get there.

I’ll represent you in court :)
Isn’t it consensual when she gave him the photos when they were together 🔚
From a lawyer: “The photos were consensual. But she did not consent to distribution “
He really thought he did something with that comment and his lil stank emoji at the end lol
Reblog to save a LIFE dat shit is not ok
for the ladies, and even gentlemen, who follow me and find themselves in this situation.
Same goes for you Men. If your ex leaks photos of your dick or any videos you sent her, you can sue too. Yea, giving the photos with consent is Aight, but spreading them around and “exposing” Ain’t it chief
Had a dream where this became the new meme for a bit
Did I do it right?
You did it perfectly.

I’m absolutely not against robits in the home, I think the possibilities are really cool but like… Alright actually, here’s a side by side comparison:
Alexa can play Skyrim tho
Damn you’re right.
I’m on mobile can somebody add that as a point for Roomba.
here you go
Roomba creates maps of the inside of your house
You’re like the 400th person to add this so:
This is the outline of my bedroom, with approximate furniture. Information I might not want handed out to the government or corporations or whatever. Not even including dubious terrain like rugs and clutter:
Here’s what a roomba, at floor level, with clutter and obstructions and stuff-under-stuff might be able to ‘map’ as navigable area:
This is completely useless to anybody except people developing robot vaccuums who might want diagnostic data. This isn’t even close to the level of Alexa’s microphone bollocks. Hit Alexa with a hammer, Roomba is… Safe, for now.
I saw the red and blue and my first response was “Roomba is using this sensitive information for GERRYMANDERING purposes”
SWAT team, bursting into your room, having been briefed with detailed Roomba-collected maps: *avoids difficult rug*
Yeah it's not at all "too late"
my wife’s so cute because we both love animals so much but her way is very pure and genuine whereas my family is:
me, holding up my cat: stinky
wife: no!! don’t be mean!!!
me, swaying him back and forth in the air: stinky bastard man
wife: No!!!!!!!!
my mother, not looking up from chopping veggies: naughty boy. brat cat
wife, distraught: NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In case anyone doubted the validity of my claims:
The wife:
The mom:

IS THIS THE ORIGINAL OMG
capitalism is like. resting is a waste of time. eating is a waste of time. sleeping is a waste of time. playing is a waste of time. living is a waste of time. you must prove your worth to live here and everything else is a waste. and we’re taught not to question it.
this shouldn’t be a hot take but your life has exactly the same value whether you work 7 days a week or 5 days a week or 2 days a week or 0 days a week.
your life is valuable because it’s your life, and you have a lot to offer the people around you. it doesn’t matter how much you’re able to work.
the most important thing is that you are as happy and healthy as possible, whatever that means for you.

tbh the best way that i explain to other people what it feels like to live with an anxiety disorder is the one time when i had to get a fingerprint and background check done for a job and i, someone who has never received so much as a speeding ticket my whole life, spent thirty minutes panicking that i would fail because i might secretly be a criminal and have no idea
This is the most accurate post on anxiety ever.
"of course i remembered" is a love language
