In my mind she’s still 20 years old and just put out Fearless and 8 year old me is dramatically dancing around my room to “Crazier” holding fake roses because I just saw Hannah Montana: The Movie in theatres and freaked out when Taylor made a cameo. I remember buying Speak Now in Walmart and on the drive home telling my mom that I’m glad my idol isn’t some crazy super famous person and someone who not everyone obsesses over.... Little did I know that come 2019 she would be named ARTIST OF THE DECADE and WOMAN OF THE DECADE *9 year old me is quaking* I remember winning 3rd place with my friends in Wigg Idol (if you know, you know) while lip sinking to “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” dressed as Taylor when I was 11. I remember going to the 1989 world tour with my mom when I was 14 which was my FIRST CONCERT EVER. I remember being Taylor for Halloween three years in a row! I remember going to Rep Tour with my friends and being so close to Taylor and having THE BEST night of my life. I remember buying a Taylor replica dress (blue Our Song music video dress) for grade 8 grad.... And buying a Taylor replica dress (2009 CMAs dress) for prom, although it came in and was so poorly made and I sold it.... I met some of my best friends in a the ENTIRE WORLD through Taylor. I listened to Taylor’s music and followed her story through all of the break ups, make ups, friendships, drama and now with her finally finding the one. Wow this decade has been insane. This woman has been such a huge role model for as long as I can remember and I can’t wait for another decade of amazingness (yes I made up a word) to come!
