With the music playing as loudly as it was, it shouldnāt have come as a shock that his words went unheard. It wasnāt until she finally pulled back from the refrigerator and her eyes landed on the strange man that his presence became known. Eyes went wide and a harsh yelp tore from the girl, the carton of juice hitting her floor and making an immediate mess. āHow the fuck did you get in here?!ā Dove demanded, reaching for one of the kitchen knives and holding the blade towards him. A bluff, but one she hoped would be bought.
He wasnāt surprised when she didnāt hear him, he hadnāt spoken loud enough to drown out the music that rang through the air. It was frustrating to say the least, but he couldnāt let it bother him. After several millenia, death had built up a thick skin for things of little consequence. He noted the expression on her face, and stood strong despite her demands. ā I let myself in. ā he answered, raising an eyebrow as she held the blade in his direction. ā I mean you no harm, and the knife wouldnāt serve you either way. ā he admitted. ā Believe it or not, Iām here to save your life. ā
