4 THE THRILL FEST did a Facetime interview while solid is in Europe 🇪🇺 (Like stated before, some questions mah have been asked in other interviews with solid as well) This was released Aug 10th, 2025
• Growing up in Michigan? : Turnt bc he always made the best out of his situation. He was locked up for 16 months and tried to make the best out of it.
• WRLDTOURMAFIA? : That was never the original name of the group chat, it was actually called SLAMASLUTRECORDS. The name WRLDTOURMAFIA came later, inspired by how the crew was constantly traveling between different states. But Solid didn’t think that name suited them. He wanted to call it CROSS STATE BOYS instead.
• When did music start? : Solid always had a thing for music.Always been fascinated by how people put rhymes together. He’d freestyle in the car, after church when people would give him money to hear him freestyle Music became more than just something to listen to, it was a way to speak his his mind, an outlet . Music has been a part of him for as long as he can remember.
• A lot of people in detroit have known each other before they blew up, Who did he know before rap came into the picture? : Detroit’s small, everybody knows everybody. Solid and Babymoney went to high school together, and him and Solid’s grandma lived in the same neighborhood.
• Does being from detroit influence his rap sound? : Nuar
• Where did he get his sound? : Solid really started rapping and releasing music back in 2022. His first project was called ORIGINATOUR. He figured out his sound by dropping different projects, every one sounds different. Confidence played a big part in finding that sound too.
• Any big names embracing solid? : BabyTron and Lucki.Tron first linked with Solid when Solid was waiting to check into a hotel in Atlanta. Nobody was responding to Solid at the time, but Tron saw his story, slid up, and that’s how things started between them. As for Lucki, he used to visit Detroit frequently. Meanwhile, Daemoney was in Chicago working with him. Eventually, Daemoney introduced Lucki to WTM, and Lucki’s been rocking with them ever since.
• Solid mentioned wanting to drop three more times before the year ends, but he doesn’t want to overwhelm his fans. He wants listeners to really sit with his sound, he felt like Imagine That didn’t get listened to enough. Killa $eason came right after. During the interview, he’d been in Europe for about five days, already recorded five songs, and only went to the studio three times. He thought about dropping those five tracks as an EP (which he ended up doing / TOUROPEAN)
• The Europe trip so far : Food is weak, weed is weak and prices are crazy $100-$200. Other than that it’s been fun and smooth, all the studios out there fuck with them. Solid met alot of new people and fans in europe. Solid doesn’t plan on stopping in europe, he wants to take it further
• Solid has found a way to balance his music with everyday life. As a father, he’d rather spend time with his daughter than be out partying. His focus on music isn’t just about chasing success, it’s about building something meaningful for her future too
• What does solid have coming up? : He went to a pop up event in europe and introduced his music people to, they liked it and even wanted to throw a show in there.
OVERLOOKED, a media group known for interviewing artists, spotlighting emerging talent, and covering music media, recently interviewed SOLID. This Interview also has similar questions to Solids other interviews. This interview was released April 2nd, 2025
• What was the first time solid wanted to create and record his own song? : His first song GO was made back in 9th or 10th grade, during the time he went by the name KYSOLID. He wrote the entire track instead of punching in, but after making it, he wasn’t sure if he even wanted to continue making music. It wasn’t until 2022 that he really started dropping music and staying consistent, releasing his first full project, ORIGINATOUR. After the first WRLDTOUR tape, fans began asking for more solo work from Solid even though he only appeared on two tracks from the project.
• Did WTM start before solid started making his own independent music? : Solid (KYSOLID) GO was already out before WTM even existed. WTM wasn’t really a music group at first, it started as just a group chat. Solid and all his friends travel a lot, taking trips to different states at different times, but they all mainly live in Detroit. The group chat had a few names over time like Cross State Boys and WRLDTOURMAFIA, which eventually evolved into SLAMASLUTRECORDS. When everyone gets together, they’re SLAMASLUTRECORDS, always with the girls. But when they’re on the road, it’s WRLDTOURMAFIA.
• When everyone has their own unique style but still works together on group projects, it makes the group stronger. When they come together, it’s all about work, and each member represents the whole team. Even if one person releases a song on their own, it helps everyone. Their music is very inspiring and unique, that’s what brings them alot of attention.
• Solids fashion is all about how he carries himself. In his second song, CLOSER THAN CLOSE (KYSOLID) he mentions brands like CDG, HBA, and BALENCIAGA, reflecting the early labels he favored. Since elementary school, Solid has always cared about dressing well and looking put together. He’s not concerned with others’ opinions about his style. He enjoys adding unique elements to his outfits, like plushies or unexpected accessories that you wouldn’t normally see on someone else. Confidence is the key to the fit.
• Spiderman? : Spiderman references appear in his outfits and music. When Solid was younger, he was a big fan of Spider-Man. As he grew older and rewatched the movies, they reminded him of the good times from his childhood, making the experience enjoyable. Spider-Man 3 is Solid’s favorite Spiderman movie, and he also really likes the one where all the Spidermen come together. However, he’s not much of a fan of the other Spider-Man versions.
• Thoughts on punching in and Freestyling vs song writing? : Not everyone can pull off punching in, it takes the right feel to make it sound authentic. Solid started off as a writer, putting pen to paper for most of his earlier work. Overtime, his process evolved. He leans into humming melodies and punching in line by line a method that suits him creatively and brings out a different kind of energy. There’s a noticeable contrast between writing and punching in. Writing and punching in can create a different sound, and sometimes it lacks that natural, organic feel. What sets Solid apart is his beat selection, it shapes the entire mood of his music. He doesn’t stick to a specific type of beat, if he likes it, he runs with it. That freedom in choice made his latest project stand out, showing more versatility in both flows and production than any project he’s put out.(IMAGINE THAT)
• 2 Favorite Songs off of Imagine that? : Lani Interlude, Not My Hoe, & Joaquin Guzman
• Upcoming rap groups often clash due to conflicting egos, making it rare for rappers to stick together over the long term.
• TIKTOK/SOCIAL MEDIA : There’s a love/hate relationship with TikTok songs. The platform can be a great way to promote and expose music to a larger audience, but the trend of creating songs specifically to go viral often takes away from the authenticity and artistry of the music itself. It shifts the focus from meaningful expression to trend chasing.
• Solid wants to bring the fun back to music. You can always tell who’s authentic versus who’s just chasing a moment.
•Artists/Genres Solid has considered doing : BabyxSosa. : He’s thought about doing country or rock songs and even bilingual raps. Eventually, he wants to translate his past and current songs into another language. But for now, he’s just focusing on the detroit genre
Where does solid sees himself in 5 years? : Super rich in the next 5-10 years. He’s checked off most of his boxes, now it’s time for the billionaire dollar plan.
How can new artists start getting noticed? : Solid believes that a person should be genuine and pursue it out of passion, not with the expectation that others will support them.
Rene of First Place sat down with Solid for an in-depth interview, released on January 7, 2025. Rene asks solid questions, like which brands he likes or used to wear, his motivations, recording process, inspirations, and more. ( Some SOLID interview questions are repeated, but each time solid adds more details)
• When did Solid pick up the mic? : Solid first picked up the mic in 9th or 10th grade, when he wrote and recorded his very first song. Music has always been a huge part of his life, he’s loved it from a young age and was even writing his own raps/songs as early as 3rd grade.
• If it wasn’t for music what would solid be doing today ? : If it weren’t for music, Solid would be into fashion. He grew up loving both music and fashion, and he cares about fashion just as much as he does music.
• Any Brands solid use to wear in the past ? : Solid loved polos, especially the big horse polo. Then he expanded his style to True Religion, but now he wears whatever he likes, regardless of brand or price.
• What is something from the past that motivates Solid today ? : His entire past motivates him because he knows exactly where he comes from. Based on what he has seen and experienced growing up, his childhood was smoother than many others’, as he had both parents actively involved in his life.
• How does detroit have an impact on Solids sound ? : Solid doesn’t consider himself having a Detroit sound, he thinks the beats he chooses might give that impression. His lyrics, flow, cadence, and swag are completely different. While most Detroit styles tend to be predictable, he aims to keep people guessing, never wanting his next move to be anticipated.
• What was the creative process behind the projects BIGG and Matter of time? : Originatour was Solids’ very first project, with him mainly recording all the songs himself. Around the time of Matter of Time, he met his two engineers, Brvdo and Juno. They would record tracks at Brvdo’s house, including tracks that never made it onto the project. BIGG showcases Solids’ progression and growth as an artist. Matter of Time was primarily produced by Brvdo and Juno, BIGG featured a variety of producers. For the projects, Solid stated he traveled to cities like LA, Atlanta, New York, and Detroit to record songs.
• Fav songs from each project
Orginatour - No Competition
Matter of time - Be my hoe & I mean
BIGG - FTP & HTOWN
• What inspired the name of Originatour and how does it play into solids identity? : Solid was going for a DJ Screw vibe then later found out people called DJ Screw The Originator. Solid always felt like he’d originated a lot himself. He took the “tour” off of WRLDTOURMAFIA and added that on. He’s not chasing the title of originator but the truth is, he really is one.
• Does Solid have any musical influences that helped shape his style, or even influencers in general who have motivated or inspired him? : He views them more as inspirations than influencers. His number one inspiration is his daughter. His family, along with the things he watches and reads, and many other positive influences, are what keep him going
• How Is Working With WRLDTOURMAFIA? : Everything’s going well with the music. Fans say their recent projects are some of their best. They keep making new songs and aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
• How did Solid & Rafa meet? : Solid first met Rafa back in middle school at a roller skating rink called Great Skate. They both happened to be wearing oversized horse polos and Ray-Bans that day. Eventually, Rafa started coming over more often, especially since their families lived on the same block.
• Any Collaborations that have pushed solid out of his comfort zone? : He’s not too into collaborations he doesn’t want his big moment to come because of someone else. He’d rather make it on his own first and then start working with others, unless it’s with close friends.
• How Important is it for solid to have a small circle around him? : Solid says it gets hard to maintain everything. He started this journey mainly to create stability—for his kids, his family, and to keep everyone on the same path in life. If he had taken the easy way out, things like his music wouldn’t even exist. He worked hard for all of it.
• How to balance quality and quantity in work? : He’s been consistently working and uploading music, but he’s mindful not to overwhelm fans by dropping too much especially with other artists releasing content around the same time. He focuses on quality over quantity, taking his time to ensure each track hits. He’d rather create one great song than rush through five and only really connect with two.Tracks like Where Would I Be, Truth is and NBA were all made in one night and those are quality songs. These tracks can be found on his EP It Gets Greater Later.
• Typical studio session : He doesn’t usually jump straight into recording. Solid has a close bond with the producers he works with it’s less business, more like family. He likes to ease into the session, roll up, share some laughs, and get a feel for the vibe before getting to work.
• Memorable moment with a fan : Before Solid and Rafa opened up for Summrs and Kankan, the crowd was booing them. But once they got on stage and started performing, people began fw them. After the show, a fan who had just recently discovered Solid through the show asked for a picture. That moment made him realize that most people haven’t really been exposed to his music yet and that his streaming numbers don’t really mean much due to that
• As his music expands how does he want fans to perceive his music ? : He wants his music to inspire personal growth. For him, music is about evolving as a person, not just about making money.
• One track he’d recommend a new fan to listen to? : Street gospel - BIGG
• Unreleased?? : At the time, his project Imagine That Didn’t Drop still hadn’t dropped but he already mentioned the five features: Rafa, Samuel, Warhol, WTM RE, and Connor. The project was then dropped on Feb 7th, 2025
• Next phase for career of any goals outside of music? : Get a billion dollars. He is open to learning everything atm
• Dream 3 car garage
Lamborghini urus
ferrari truck
lincoln navigator
• Any racing games growing up? : Solid mentioned that he was never great at driving in games, but he used to play Midnight Club because he could customize his own car.
• Go to solid song for Traffic : Turn on some solid, wrldtourmafia, and chief keef
• Why does solid deserve to be in first place? : Solid is in first place because God is on his side. He didn’t ask for it, he just did it and God took care of the rest.
