So you must understand that “close” counts for nothing. Sometimes it is even worse than having nothing at all, it is inferior to anything in this world.

This commission was finished by the artist on February 14, but I’ve been busy with graduate school applications recently, so I didn’t have time to post it on Tumblr. That’s why I only just saw what Ryan said, and honestly, it kind of startled me. I don’t know—I feel like the furthest I can accept their relationship going is friends with benefits. At least in my view, because of Alicent and Criston’s relationship, Gwayne wouldn’t fall in love with Criston, or at most would just genuinely treat him a bit better, with sex being more of a stress-relief concept. As for Criston, I’m not sure either. He just seems very melancholic, almost death-seeking, and deeply starved of love. I don’t know, I just feel a little freaked out by what Ryan said — “maybe the historians missed that we're able to dramatize.” WTF. Did they even meet in the F&B? One was basically guarding the Red Keep and the other was guarding the gates of King’s Landing — what kind of interaction could they even have had? Please don’t scare me like this.
