THINGS THAT DO EXIST: An English accent, a Scottish accent, a Welsh accent and a Northern Irish accent. All accents vary depending on the region people live. Once again, for possibly the 1000th time: There is no such thing as a British accent.

THANK YOU. And really, there aren’t English or Scottish or N.Irish or Welsh accents, either - we’re VERY regional. In Scotland alone you will never hear a generic Scottish accent; what you get are Glasgow accents, Fife accents, Aberdonian accents, Shetland accents, accents that vary depending on which of the Hebrides you’re from and my very own Morningside accent which is a SUB-ACCENT of the wider Edinburgh accent - just… we are REGIONAL. We are SO SO regional you would not believe.

Sherlocked talks: Andrew Scott and Mark Gatiss

It is impossible to get across just how silly these two are together. But here is my attempt! Lots of giggly moments, some serious points… This is the last of the four talks I went to. Thanks to everyone who has reblogged and liked. I’ve never had so many notes in all my life! Enjoy!

Q: How come Moriarty has developed such an obsession with Sherlock, but not at all towards Mycroft?

Andrew Scott: How do you know that’s true? Mark Gatiss: All strictly off-camera. Andrew Scott: It wasn’t in the script. Mark Gatiss: You can’t just say that! Andrew Scott: That’s a very good question. Mark Gatiss: I would say because Mycroft is the uber Holmes. He has shut himself off all emotion and is successful. He has tried to teach his little brother to do that but Sherlock is not as good at it. Moriarty sees a chink and can get in. Don’t read anything in to that. Andrew Scott: Too late!

best/funniest talk of the weekend

One is asked a lot in interviews in the press about fans and fandom and the first question that is always asked is “How many freaky fans are there? Are people really unusual? Do you get stalked?” And I feel really passionately that people who are fans of stuff can be extraordinarily creative and it’s an outlet for people. And it’s about love. It’s about having an absolute passion for something and it’s totally without cynicism and something that I think the media could learn from and I think the idea that people can gather in a room and be really positive about something is amazing.

A Q&A with Claire Pritchard-Jones - a summary of her talk at Baker Street Vienna about all the things Sherlock
