[Let me put it another way: If you've been engaging in ERP for years, it's guaranteed by now that you've, even by accident, ERP'd with a minor lying about their age. Or you just never even TRY to ask. You can't reliably verify!] I'm assuming that you're thinking of engaging in random ERP, because short of asking for W2s from my long term partners that I've been doing RP that includes ERP with in some cases for close to a decade I know they're adults. I know about their jobs, their living situations, I've seen pictures of their pets and of them living their normal OOC lives. We're friends OOC and I talk to them regularly, including initial conversations confirming adulthood and generally going over preferences and boundaries while repeated IC conversations started to develop into IC long-term relationships. Sure, it could all turn out to be a massive, eight year ruse, but I just don't know why someone would bother to make up an OOC adult persona who was something like a forensic accountant in Florida or driving forklifts in New Zealand, complete with pictures from vacations or conventions or with pets that consistently show the same clearly adult people, just to eventually get access to the pretty bog-standard schmoopy vanilla romantic ERP that I do.

I make events for a group. Build campains. Try to give everyone the spotlight. To do so, i reach out, ask them if they want some story around their characters, if there's something they would like to develop, if they would like their background story to be used.

I'm usually met by crickets. Except for the same few people over and over. And then i get to hear by others that the story is about these people.

Well, yeah? Im not a professional writer, this is my hobby as well, and if you dont give me more about your character than "human paladin #456" or "elven mage #123", im not sure what im suppose to do...

Positive post: Handy addons that should be boosted edition!

YetAnotherNotepad: A small, easy to use note taking addon so you don’t need to tab out. Great for pre-typing emotes or keeping track of event stuff as a DM

Chattery: Same function as Emote Splitter. Excellent backup for when ES inevitably breaks again

Languages: Functional Tongues replacement. Also has small dictionaries of replacement words and phrases for many dialects that is entirely optional and easy to set

Global Ignore List: Automatically syncs your ignore list from every character after logging into them once

Misspelled: Catches typos and can be set to several languages

Housing Music: Set playlists for each of your houses

Homestead: Marks decor vendors on your map and shows how many of their items you’ve learned

Guestbook: Allows you to leave notes for home owners

Dump Decor: More tracking for housing items. Makes ones you don’t own more visible on the UI

Barbershop Profiles: If you don’t have Narcissus, allows you to create saved settings for characters in the barbershop

Advanced Decoration Tools: Adds more functionality to decorating your house, including a copy/paste function, hotkey bar for placing favorite items, batch placement, decor locking, and a lot more

All of these addons have less than 200k downloads but deserve SO MUCH MORE.
