I have just finished my first batch of shells! I got these from surfside beach SC while they were doing beach rebuilding, some are from previous years but all from the same beach.

First I dipped them in acid for a bit until the outer layer of calcium comes off, then rinse in baking soda water. Later I put baby oil on them and let that soak in, then rinsed and dried them.

This is just my first batch, I have lots of very large ones to do next!

All my posts so far have been photographs I’ve taken in the past (whether that’s a week or a few months) because I’m about to start college again and may be too busy to go out and take photos for a while. Also I’m trying to space out my posts a little to fill my blog better
