OMG HI okay so long story short, that’s… Thing (functionally she has no name, could name herself but prefers not to and so allows others to call her whatever they like) and she was injected with compound V. the powers she was given were too powerful for her body at the time it was administered to her, causing strange behavioral issues. Thing’s parents are so overwhelmed by this that they just Ditch Her. she survives on her own until she figures out that with her abilities she can make the impossible happen!!! many opportunities are to be had!!!! so she starts a group of prayer and acts as a voice of god, all you must do is obey her and come and visit sometimes and she will make sure god grants you whatever it is you desire!!!!!!! huzzah 🙌 (this background was made season 4, she’s currently being updated as season 5 rolls out…)

her whole uniform was based off of american revolutionary uniforms to symbolize the cultish ways of america’s military. this is her redesign, originally she wore something vaguely warlike but i decided to hone in on the revolution to provide commentary on how solidified it is in our system, how it’s almost always been this way. (this is the meta answer. in canon it’s probably just because she thought it was cool LOL)

I’m getting slight Oh Father vibes with the religious angle mixed with Homelander vibes given that she has a cult following of people who borderline or actually DO worship her. (I bet Homelander would be throwing a tantrum right about now.)

I have to ask: what are the logistics of making miracles?

Is it that she can alter atoms? Create something out of “nothing” by recombining electrons, protons, and neutrons?

Is it that she has biokenisis and can heal almost any wound or malady, regardless of its genetic or an obtained injury.

Thing actually reminds me of a story I listened to a few years ago. It’s called, I’m a social worker for psychic children I think you might like it. I think it was the mentioning that her parents didn’t know what to do with her that reminded me of the story.

Ditching her seems cruel but if she really is that powerful and prone to issues she might have been a legitimate threat to their lives. Not that it takes away from the irony that they did this to her and now she’s suffering for their choices. But there’s a list of questions there.

My oc is named Ottilia Risinger, she is a belated sixth success of the original five V1 subjects. She’s unique from Soldier Boy, Bombsight, Torpedo, and Private Angel because she was a prisoner at Dachau alongside her sister, Clara. (I have an entire analysis right here because it’s so complicated)

Ottilia is belated because when initially injected she turned (melted) into these vines of flesh that were highly aggressive and occasionally carnivorous.

She stayed like that for about thirty years subsisting on the metals of her cell and in the ground before reforming into something that moreso resembled an android than a human. Cue the next several decades of her trying to track down her last remaining family member, only to be horrified at what she has become.

SO FUNNY you mention that because she is jealous to death of homelander and he has no idea she exists yet… though this might change as i update her for the new season 👀 she is very very desperate for attention i must say her “miracle making” is, actually, a result of her being able to alter atoms!!!! her powers often show in her acts of cartoonish mischief when not being used to grant her supporters their desires. at the cost of being able to alter atoms, she must have the knowledge of the molecular structure of all that she is going to manipulate. this knowledge is not something that she learned — rather that was implanted in her brain as she was injected with V, causing her to be helplessly irritated as she had awareness of everything all at once. this information continues to update itself along with advances in general technology and science, so it continues to cause her severe pain and stress. i read your analysis post and i have to say your writing is TOTALLY FANTASTIC!!! i really enjoy how in depth you went like that’s awesome brotato. and ottilia’s story sounds kickass in a very very tragic way. her lore is super amazing, i’d love to hear more about her!!! like if she had any relationships with the V1 subjects, besides clara, and what were they like? and if you have any drawings of her then i would love love love LOVE to see them~ (o^^o) also i will definitely take a listen to the story you’ve recommended me when i find the time…

im on chapter 2 of rdr2. i only ever run away from the o'driscolls when they see me. sometimes it makes me feel bad because i feel like a coward. but then i remember arthur is so brave all the time always and maybe this time just sometimes he can be scared and it's okay because as long as we don't lead them back to camp neither of us are doing anything wrong by running away. i am a coward always and i know it but that makes me feel just a little nicer
