character voices r so hard. half my time writing is spent analysing my dialogue and asking myself "WOULD arthur rlly say that???? would he????". and then i delete half of the conversation in a fit of rage

imagining charles finding arthur's journal, paper facing down, on the floor as he passes by his tent. arthur is still recovering from 'blessed are the peacemakers'. charles, though he doesn't want to invade his privacy, knows how much that journal means to arthur and decides to pick it up from the muddy, wet ground. he wipes the dirt off of the page, and he tries not to look, but he finds it hard not to when he sees himself drawn so delicately on the page; and not just one either. charles doesn't say anything, and probably never will... especially considering it didnt weird him out one bit. he actually quite liked how it felt — to be seen.
