Itâs immediate, Gabrielâs impression of the other. Rather odd, actually. And what a shame he canât see the grace of this angel, or even know heâs an angel as well. Gabriel is unaware of the luminous and the divine light. Itâs a missing beauty.Â
âCome now, you already know I am not human. Surely someone as quick witted as you would be able to guess.â
A smirk plays on Gabrielâs lips and the angel blade does not deter him. He raises his hand in a friendly gesture, opening himself up to vulnerability as well as a semi symbolic sign of surrender. Though heâd never actually do that; surrendering is never a choice.
He sighs and eyes roll. The archangel doesnât give the other any time to respond, but at the same time his answer is vague and barely answers Balthazarâs question.
âIâm an archangel.â
âYou should see yourself. Itâs a rather strange symbiosis that you have going on  there. Like colors that donât exactly fit together. Or a Grace put in the blender with a soul. ItâsâŚâ
He lowers his blade, not because he trusts, but because the threat isnât immediate, not right now. Heâs not feeling better about it, however.
An archangel.
Right.
That actually makes sense. He can feel the power, his Grace actually warned him, but thereâs still this problem right before his nose: this isnât a vessel. Thatâs what puts him in such a confusion.
This is not normal.
Nor natural.
âI have lots of brothers, brother, none of them being quite like you. Iâd like to say youâre more handsome, but thatâs not exactly what I mean.â
He glances at the blade in the otherâs hand and finds amusement in the fact itâs being lowered. Gabrielâs lips twitch in a half smile, wondering if thereâs some kind of solidarity in the comfort of finding someone whoâs similar to you. In this case, somehow theyâre not both human.
âIf this helps any at all...Iâm the better brother.â
Gabriel attempts a flirtatious eyebrow wiggle, as is itâs in his nature. After all, the vessel standing before him has appealing...features.
âIf that doesnât ring a bell...My name is Gabriel.â
