Listening to Xander’s words, Tootles thought that maybe the pirates were getting to Xander too. “Dylan and Sam? I don’t know who they are. And just the fact that you find them attractive is just…ew.” He shivers at the thought. “Pirates are bad and they always will be. They lie, cheat and manipulate you into doing things you don’t want to. For fucks sake they torture people Xander.”

Staring at Tootles he chuckled. “Wow you are so out of the loop. Dylan is Peter’s and Sarah’s grandson, and the son of Curly and his pirate husband Jacob. So ya...he married the pirate Sam and they had kids together. Well Sam had one of Nibs’ kids….but Nibs is dating Sam’s brother so it’s a weird messy relationships. But ya overall the pirates aren’t so bad.”

“Pirate lost boy couples? Who are they? Do they not have any morals?” Tootles exclaims rather shocked he didn’t know about such a thing. “The pirates must have brainwashed them somehow we need to help them.” He responds while getting up and leading the way back to camp so they could plan something.

Confused he followed the boy. “How could you not know? Sam and Dylan are married with kids, Nibs and Ash are mates and as far as I know having some difficulties, but they love each other very much. No brainwashing at all.” He said trying to convince the boy everything was fine. “Besides what’s wrong with liking a pirate? I mean have you seen Ash? He’s like a human chipmunk and sometimes this hot piece of ass that I don’t know where he came from.”

“Well I mean I don’t have a plan of action now. Normally I come down here and scare a few pirates so…you can come up with the brains of the situation.”

Xander paused not really sure what to do. “I don’t know. I only know that a lot of the pirate lost boy couples are fighting and struggling to stay together. The lost girls have been pretty silent for awhile. I only ever see Sarah when I run into her on my walks.” He said with a shrug running his hand through his hair.

“Oh please, Peter hasn’t left the tent since the whole Fox incident. I highly doubt he would bother with some boys having some fun don’t you think?” He asks while looking at the other with a small laugh.

“I suppose you’re right. Alright you lead the way and explain. I’ll follow along and see where it goes.” Xander replied stepping to the side and putting his arm out to motion Tootles to walk and talk.

“Those sound like such childish pranks though we have to up our game you know?” He responds while looking at the other. “Maybe we should mess with both at the same time somehow.”

“How would we do that? It’s hard enough messing with one how do we mess with both?” Xander asked, both curious and worried. “Besides what if we get caught? Do you really want to face Peter? He’s not very friendly lately if you haven’t noticed.”

Tootles looks up at the other. “I am not shooting to kill them. Just make them jump a little. See them running away.” He responds while putting the bow back into position. “How about you suggest something fun then.”

Xander took his hand away and shoved them in his pockets. “We could put stink bombs in the girls camp. Or hide leeches in the captain's bed.” He said trying to think of pranks to pull on people. “Switch the alcohol with spoiled grape juice.”

“Well we could change that couldn’t we? I’m not close to pirates nor am I close to lost girls so I don’t really care if they were to come after me because well…they don’t even know me.” He responds while looking at the other. Seeing one of the pirates coming out of the ship, Tootles raised his bow and arrow to take the shot.

Xander saw Tootle raise his bow and was quick to jump up and put a hand on the boy’s arm to stop him. “Are you crazy!?” He asked shocked to a bit of soberness. “You can’t go around shooting random people on this island. That has nothing to do with fun.”

Tootles had been walking through the island looking for something to do. He knew that there was things going on somewhere on the island but he just wasn’t sure where that was yet. The boy thought he could stir up some trouble by going to kill or at least agitate some pirates for something to do. Hearing a familiar voice nearby, Tootles saw Xander and thought that maybe the boy would want in on some fun. “You know if nothing is fun you could always make your own fun right?”

Xander looked up to see Tootles and chuckled. “I know, but I know most of the people on the island so it’s hard to have fun and mess with them. Although I do get a kick out of messing with some of the pirates and other lost boys. But lately everyone has been sticking to their tents or causing drama so I’ve had to sit around doing nothing.”

Xander walked through the darker part of the island kicking stones and tossing back shots trying to find something fun to do. It had been awhile since he found anything fun or wanted to do anything. He figured this is how Peter felt when he lost Fox. Angry, hurt, confused, but Xander knew better than to lock himself away, however that didn’t mean he would enjoy wandering the island either. He stopped when he found the brighter side of the island again and sat on a dead stump. “Why is the only fun around here people dying and getting fights. This island seriously is pointless.”

“Isn’t it always like that though? In any place. Any…world? I guess.” Now she wondered if there were other worlds out there besides where she came from and where she was now. “Everything’s always temporary.” Her family’s fortune and her previously good life certainly was.

“That’s only partly true here. See with no time no one dies and nothing ever passes as it should. Also the emotions are temorary, but people can’t just up and leave Neverland like they can the real world. You know travel to another country, so you always see the person.”

Chephirah can’t help but smirk a little bit. Being deaf wasn’t the only thing that made her unique. To make communication easier, she pulls out the notebook she always carries around these days and writes, That’s not the only thing that makes me unique around here. I’m a shifter. Lioness. The only one on the island. Maybe the only one to exist anywhere, for all she knows.

“A lion shifter, that is unique. But wouldn’t you have to have had a mother and father to be born? I doubt Pan has the power or free time to have created you.” It was blunt, but Xander had been resorting back to his ways before meeting Slightly. It was something he couldn’t control without the boy.

Tala shrugs, not even knowing anymore her feelings towards the island or being on it. She didn’t hate it anymore, at least. “It’s alright, I guess. Better than home.” She corrects herself, “Where I was before.” Calling it home didn’t seem quite right anymore, somehow. “Have you always been lived here?” she asks.

“No, I came a while back. It’s been an interesting time here. I’ve loved and I’ve lost. But in the end everything is temporary here.” He said not sure what else to tell the girl since his time here wasn’t something to be spreading about.

Chephirah glanced over her shoulder, back towards the forest, the thought of just turning and running crossing her mind, as it often did at least a few times when she was around people. But as she looked back at the boy, she noticed he was speaking again, and concentrating on reading his lips temporarily made her forget about running. She rolled her eyes at his question and, after scrubbing her hands on her jeans another time, she signed, I’m not a mute. Which was, technically, true. In her mind at least. I’m deaf, she signed.

Xander watched the girl and tried to figure out what she was saying. He realized what she was saying and made an oh face. “Sorry. We don’t get many people here with disabilities. You and the blind girl Tala are the only two I know of.” He said slower so she could have an easier time reading what he was saying.

“Lost Girl’s a stupid way to put it, I think,” she said, but not in a mean or bitter way. Almost in a casual tone of voice, like she was simply stating a fact. “More like I was kidnapped.” She shrugged though. She was slowly starting to come around to the island, though it still angered and frustrated her that she couldn’t navigate it very well yet. But other than that, she’d decided it wasn’t such a bad place to live. “My name’s Tala Winter.”

“Kidnapped huh. Well I will say it’s better here than anywhere else you could be kidnapped to.” He chuckled looking at the girl. He could tell something was off by the way her eyes looked, but he didn’t want to say anything. “So Tala, what do you think of the island so far?”

“Isn’t everyone here a bit lost?” she smiled a little bit, then giggled quietly, almost nervously. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt your playing. I haven’t met anyone yet who could play a guitar.” She added with a shrug, “Not that I know of, at least.”

“Some are, others are found.” He replied before just shrugging. “No big deal. I’ve been sitting here for a while now. The beach is the perfect place to clear your mind. There are a few others that play. Just have to find them.”

Chephirah looked over her shoulder, scrubbing her hands against her jeans to try to clean off the blood. It stung and burned, but she ignored the pain as she looked in the boy’s direction. She could see his lips moving, but, not entirely paying attention, she couldn’t quite make out all of what he was saying. She could make out that he was asking if she was okay though. I’m fine, she signed quickly, getting to her feet quickly, spinning so that she was facing him.

Xander was confused as to why the girl didn’t speak. “So are you a mute of some kind? Or just don’t like talking to guys?” It was weird she was speaking and it never occurred to him she couldn’t hear.

“If you don’t mind,” Tala nods, then takes one step backwards before sitting down. “I don’t think I’ve met you before,” she commented, not recognizing his voice.

“Nor I you. Xander’s the name, lost boy is my thing.” He chuckled looking at the young girl. “So you a lost girl I take it?” Xander asked already knowing the answer to it.
