saint isnât overly surprised or thrilled when the guy starts making his way over. he figured it would happen sometime, this game of ignorance going on for far too long. silence was a gift. he knew he wasnât going to be able to enjoy it forever; however, maybe an ally could be discovered here today. a good thing could come from this.
âitâs hard to find quiet, uncrowded spaces around here.â itâs said almost sheepishly, the corners of his mouth lifting up into a shy smile. company wasnât too bad to have. saint has to keep reminding himself that he can isolate. he canât cut himself off. he wonât possibly survive living that way. âi donât mind. please, take a seat.â
step one: complete â now to hope he doesnât get his head bitten off by this seemingly nice stranger (you could never be too sure âround these parts). âthatâs true,â he gave a small nod followed by a soft smile. âthanks, hope iâm not intruding on that quiet.â there was only the sound of the chair he pulls out clattering against the legs of the others â the rest was silence. he rests his tray on the table, the glass of juice nearly spilling from the momentum. chariot promptly sits down, eyes locked onto his food for a lack of better words.
âiâm chariot, by the way,â he manages to finally introduce himself after twiddling his thumbs a bit. âfrom cerulean â oh, but you probably already knew that, huh?â god, this was so awkward. ânice to meet you.â at least it ended on a friendly note, he thinks to himself, finally taking a bite of his food. maybe he should just keep his mouth shut to save them both the time, or go back to that treasured silence â though it was probably more awkward if he just stayed quiet the whole time. besides, he knew his fellow faction members could never be too bad â most that could happen was probably just being disliked. âiâve noticed you here often so i thought itâd be nice to finally say hi.â
sorry for the lack of activity yâall iâve been busy dying in the sun and kinda got myself sick so...iâll get to replies later on but iâll try to reply to all ims now!

âNever felt better.â
Both he and Bishop are a mess, arms caked in drying blood as he stands before the other, catching his breath with a grimace. A long-range weapon can have its uses but when it comes to short-range fighting, Apolloâs bow had been all but useless, cylinder ending up back in his pocket at one point, fighting with pure strength. His knuckles are fucked. Torn up. Â The maleâs stamina is also reaching breaking point after forming arrow after arrow, even using them as a tool to maim when rolling in the dirt with the mercs.Â
âI say we split- one statue each, meet in the middle, touch it together then high-tail it out. Normally, staying together might be smarter but we just donât have the time. Sometimes the best way to have your friendâs back is to stay out of their way.â

chariot closes his eyes and takes in a deep breath after watching the other two leave. this was it, the âboss battleâ of this mission â god, how he wished he could simply head for the safe zone. points meant nothing to him, but there was no backing down now. his eyes flutter open as he breathes out, steeling his nerves as he enters the shadows. there was something akin to a map in his head â build from various visual clues he picked up on on the way here. it was a trick he learned from playing games, sure, but if his misspent teenage years were worth anything, they would prove themselves now.Â

he stops a few steps away from the edge of the pool. someone else is already in there, finishing up their last few laps. bishop opens his mouth to call out a greeting, but his voice dies in his throat as he sees the familiar head of hair⌠familiar back⌠and itâs been a long time since heâs seen this view. so long that he doesnât know what to do except stand and stare.
him. great.
there was a lot you could complain about life in this game, the lack of freedom, the constant eyes on you â and letâs not forget the literal death matches. chariot misses his family and friends more than anything â heâd kill to be able to cuddle his old cat again (wonder how that olâ guy is doing).Â
it was a goddamn awful situation to be in â but all things considered... not that his past life had been particularly miserable, but the luxurious new life he had been living since two months ago was something else. there was a part of him that wondered how many people died for them to live like this (but those were thoughts for another time). when he first found out about the amenities in this hellhole, he had laughed out loud at how ridiculous it was. what kind of prisoners were they? it was hard to settle into a escapist mindset when they were throwing extravagance at him. he didnât think he was being blinded by riches, everyone has wanted to live a life like this at least once before, right? if they were imprisoned here for the time being, might as well enjoy it while it lasts.
tap.
his fingers finally meet the end of the pool, his head rising above the water for a gulp of air. his poor legs were sore from the laps â well, along with the rest of his body. the size of this pool simply couldnât compare with the tiny one he frequented back in the day, his usual three laps ended up being one of the best (or worst) workouts in ages. he took in another big breath of air, letting his body cool down in the water â god, he dreaded getting out, having to deal with gravity again...
âhm?â chariot tilts his head up, finally spotting the figure next to the pool after removing his goggles. he pushes his hair out of his face, using the moisture to slick it back as he pulls himself closer to the edge. âhey, you here to cool down too?â

but he knows apollo will do it whether bishop agrees to it or not, and as much as he cares about chariot, apollo is one of his oldest and best friends in this damned game. he canât send him to his death. âlook, i donât know. i have your back, apollo, but i donât even want to plan something if chariotâs not on board. heâs the one who will have to shoulder the risk of being out here alone.â
he turns to chariot. âballâs in your court, man. if youâre okay covering for usâŚ?â
chariot bites down on his lower lip, having to hold his tongue in front of the other two. they were much more experienced than him, been through many more missions and such, but was this really possible? or were they simply putting up fronts? he could never tell with the veteran players; professional actors, all of them.
his breathing quickens as the conversation drifts dangerously close to his disadvantage. part of him knew this was his fault, relying on others too much â or at all, really. of course they would go for the gold, and if he was slowing them down then they would simply get rid of him. there was a small urge to throw a fit about it, but this wasnât the time or place (when was it time for a grown man to throw a tantrum, really).Â
apolloâs quick clarification was almost as if he had been reading chariotâs mind. it shouldâve put his thoughts at ease, but there was some bitterness that came with being talked down to (not that they were wrong). âyeah...okay iâll do that then.â simply obeying orders was the path he chose for now; canât be letting any weakness show. âas soon as we scout them out, iâll find a good spot and fire from there. letâs try to avoid combat as much as possible, though â i rested up a bit during the walk here, but the both of you must be more tired than youâre letting on.â he looks up at the sky knowingly. âiâll focus on taking them out, and you guys focus on getting out of there aliveâ i-is that...okay?â the sudden hesitation comes, chariot suddenly remembering that he was the newbie here (damn strategy games).Â
absolemblck:
chariot was always one to overwork himself ( or so absolem thinks by the various injuries he got. either that or he just sucked ass at fighting, but she isnât saying anything. absolem never got the chance to train with him so she wouldnât know ), and absolem would be the one to patch him up. she didnât mind, it brought a sense of relief to her knowing that a part of her past is still there.
she glances up at the male, a little stunned, cheeks flushing at his cute smile. heâs so cute, what a pure smile. he was like a twin she always wanted but never got ( but she isnât saying that outloud. how embarrassing! ). Â âslow learner? donât say such things.â she lectured like a mother would. Â âat least youâre still learning.â the moment he mentioned zoning out, she let out an unladylike snort before covering her mouth and letting out a laugh. Â âand some things never change.â she rolled her eyes playfully, patching up the wound and moving onto the next one. âwho couldnât land a hit? you, or him? because from my point of view, it looks like you couldnât land a hit.â she teased him.
âawe- can charchar not handle the stinging? lame. ( sheâs joking ) just hang on a little longer, weâre almost done.â
âman, you sound like my sisteââ his voice, though joking at first, drops before he finishes his sentence. âohâ uh...ignore that.â he wasnât sure if mentioning his family to anyone in this game was a good idea, however much he trusted them. besides, he wasnât much in the mood to bring her up anymore.
âshut up~â he feigns offense, his tone singsong. âyou canât expect someone who uses guns to hold a candle to a knife kinda guy. you should know, right? oh, waitâ i forgot little miss perfect doesnât spar.â his face was smug, a knowing smile just begging to be punched. âone day weâll have a shooting contest; once you stop chickening out.â
chariot rolls his eyes, a mix of exasperation and affection for the girl. âthat nickname is still confusing to me â where did you even get it from? i get absol but câmon.â it was fun to banter, but there was no mistaking how much he cared for her. she likes to act all tough, but he finds the small shows of cuteness to be precious. âit was just a dull pain, let me live.â
âthanks, though. youâre a big help.â

The flowers sort of scatter around him in slow motion- falling slower than he did in the first place due to their light nature. A few land on him, but he still doesnât budge. Maybe heâs embarrassed, but his face wouldnât show it⌠No, heâs just⌠a bit frozen in place⌠Heâll be fine. He just needs to stay on the ground for a moment first.
chariot doesnât like being alone much. itâs a trait that has been around since his past life. he always surrounded himself with friends, acquaintances â anyone who would stick around and keep him company. to say he was scared of being alone would be pushing it, but there was a nervousness that settled in whenever he went too long without any contact. they helped to ground him, convince his insecure self that he was still worth talking to. his issues with self-worth werenât anything to talk about â people like him had them all the time (and the world wasnât short on people like him). it wasnât anything that was hurting his lifestyle, he wasnât depressed about it or anything, so he chose to ignore the problem.
it comes back to bite him in the form of a cruel world filled with cruel people, ready to jump on any signs of weakness. making friends was a much heavier task under these circumstances â trust was hard to muster. the first few weeks were difficult, his social side clashing with paranoia, but if there was anything he was proud of, it was how fast he adapted. it was simply necessary to learn how to survive alone, and that was exactly that he did. outwardly, he kept a friendly demeanor, refusing to trip up and make enemies through misunderstandings. it was better to appear weak, let them underestimate you. whatâs important here was that he was here to survive, and that held true for every other candidate out there.
the sun was setting, blue hues melting into warmer tones, orange dissolving into black on the eastern end. chariot was in what he liked to call a meditative state, isolated from the collective and as surrounded by nature as he could be in this situation. discovering the field upon a stroke of luck, it had quickly grown to be one of his favoured spots. he never much appreciated nature in his former life, but heâd like to think he matured during his short stay here.Â
heâs almost in a trance, staring up at the sky, lost in the clouds â in his thoughts. there was a lot to think about, though heâs never been good at organizing hisâÂ
âwhat theââ chariot jolts up, heart racing faster than heâd like to admit. not only was his foot tugged on, a shadowy figure had drifted across his line of sight andâ oh...it was just a person. âerm,â he wants to ask if the other was okay, but they were lying rather motionless, face down, in the grass. did they pass out?
âare...are you okay?â

@blckbishopâ &Â @apolloblckâ
itâs been awhile since they started moving. chariot was glad they had decided on (sloppily) patching him up before they went on an extensive stealth slash combat mission across the city. the other two had taken up the front, thankfully allowing him to conserve energy as time passed. the sun was sinking below the horizon, and before he knew it, it was gone. âitâs dark.â nice observation, genius.Â
the temple should be just around the corner, he tells himself in an attempt to calm his nerves. what if they get there late? chariot tenses up as he spots someone approaching, but recognizes them as a masked one before he did anything reckless. they hand him a piece of paper which he takes with caution, eyes trailing after them as they slip back into the darkness. he motions for the other two to join him under the now-lit streetlight.
âseven hours...traps...more mercenaries...are they serious?â there was a tone of desperation in his voice as he reads through the text. âitâs good to know we still have time but...â his eyes moves in the direction of the temple. âhow are we supposed to get past all the mercs? wait, they said traps too, right? and this sidequest? urgh...i canât take much more of this...â he looks at the other two. âwe...arenât doing this sidequest, right? itâs impossible!â

@blcksaint
as different as his current life was, chariot still maintains his one habit â eating himself to half-death. as opposed to his past self, he moved around much more now, training his mind and body almost every day. just a few months ago he had been lazing around on his couch playing some game on his console without a care in the world. oh, how quickly life changed. if there was any upside to being trapped in this godforsaken place, it was that the food was absolutely delicious. it was almost ridiculous how luxurious this whole place had turned out to be â what kind of money must the sick bastards running this place make? and why choose to spend it on them? it didnât make sense to chariot why theyâd shower them with such extravagance â they are prisoners, right?
the thought tires him out as he sets his tray down on the table. the sun was barely peeking out from the window, shining horizontal beams of death straight into his eyes. he squints in displeasure, attempting to block out the light with his hand. this has always been his spot â something about the rotation of the earth, yadda yadda the sun can go fuck itself.
the early morning annoyance was bringing out the worse in him, he sighs as he looks around for a seat to relocate to. his eyes land on the only other person present. chariot has always noticed him, but never thought to do anything about it. people here generally scared him, but this guy didnât seem so bad (bite your tongue, sweet summer child).
âyouâre here early,â he tries his best to sound friendly, a small smile on his face as he gestures to the seat across from the stranger. âmind if i sit here?â
nurse joy + @blckchariotâ
theyâre suppose to be enemies, given their factions, but absolem was always the odd one out. she became friends with the other, instantly melting at his smile as it brought a sense of calm to her. she hid her love for the other from her faction.
âheâs just some loser that canât patch himself up.â âheâs cute, besides, iâd like to make him hurt myself.â âan eye for an eye. youâll never know when someone comes in handy.â âheâs just a tool, stop worryingâ
were her generic excuses whenever she was confronted.Â
âhonestly, iâd expect you to learn from your mistakes by now. i swear, these are the same ones from last time. â she softly lectured him, softly dabbing the cotton ball on his wound to clean it.
chariot doesnât know when he got so into training himself. somewhere along the line, he had thrown away all thoughts of pacifism and simply decided to survive. to do that, he needed to be prepared â and what better way to do that than to fight everyone.Â
well, that was an exaggeration, but his multiple training partners were beyond helpful. they were good teachers as well as students; he taught certain ones how to use guns while they taught him how to defend himself up close and personal. of course, that lead to quite a bit of roughhousing, leaving him with bruises and scratches after every session. however, he didnât know jack shit about how to treat those wounds but thankfully, since the first time he was found all tattered up on the way back to his complex, he had found a friend to help with that.
âwhat can i say, iâm a slow learner,â chariot grins, watching the girl gently. âi also mightâve zoned out a bit during training and gotten this because of it,â he points to the shallow slash on his cheek. âfreaked him out so bad when he saw it,â a small chuckle leaves him. âcouldnât even land a hitâ ow! god...i forget how much that stings.â

blckbishop:
[ â ]
shit. bishop shouldâve noticed sooner. shouldâve done something instead of being preoccupied with his own shit and joking around âiâm sorry,â he says, so low only chariot can hear him. then looks over his shoulder and calls out to apollo, tone businesslike. âapollo, howâs your first aid? letâs get chariot taken care of. i think he wins the scar pissing match.â his attempt at lightening the mood falls flat, voice too thick with concern. he canât let anything happen to chariot. not him.Â
chariot only manages to nod in response to bishopâs explanation. it didnât matter that much to him since it basically went in one ear and out the other, but he had to at least acknowledge him. he should be friendlier â he knows that â but the survivalist side of him was trying to cut out chatter that was only wasting precious time. the brawl earlier couldnât have gone unnoticed â proven by bishop presence. it would be bad if they ended up surrounded while they were chitchating away about stuff that could easily be left to the safe zone.
however, he was glad that it turned out to be a friendly unit that ended up reaching him first. his fatigue was settling in and he wasnât sure if he couldâve stood up to another group of mercenaries alone. he knew bishop wasnât weak, and counting on him to help out wasnât too far-fetched of an idea. putting his trust into someone he has only met a few times seemed like a bad choice, but for some reason, bishop made him feel safe.
as the extra cylinder is taken from him, chariot tries to inconspicuously lean against the wall. now that the adrenaline was fading away, his wound was beginning to sting and throb. he didnât want the other man finding out about his injury â whether out of courtesy, or not wanting to be seen as a weak link. one hand lets go of the rifle and wraps around his side, attempting to put pressure on the entrance the best he could.Â
âi just picked it up somewhere along the way,â chariot answers. âwas annoying as all hell to get â thought it was mine.â it was a half-truth. there had been a part of him that felt it wasnât his to begin with, but he hoped he could pass it off as a mistake thanks to his status as a newbie. he hadnât taken it out of maliciousness â he just liked the odds being on his side as much as he could manipulate it to be.
he watches as bishop forms his weapon, noting that, thankfully, he seemed to specialize in close-ranged combat. he retained some knowledge from his simpler days, and that is that long-ranged types like him never do well when ambushed. close combat was one of his acknowledged weaknesses, though he has been learning how to fight with his fists. his body strength was good enough that he could conceivably wrestle another man down, but if he was up against someone with a weapon? that was game over for him.
chariot snaps out of his strategizing when he hears a new voice. he pushes off the wall and pulls his blood-stained hand off his wound, ready to reach over and prop his rifle up, but stops before he gets there. a sigh of relief leaves his lips as he returns his hand, hoping that the action hadnât drawn attention to his wound. ânice to see you too, apollo,â the newcomer was much more of a familiar face than bishop was, one that set his mind more at ease. he lets the latter do the speaking for them, too preoccupied by the uncomfortable warmth that had been spreading across his hoodie by the second. the fabric felt so heavy, sticking to his body in a way that made him feel gross moving around. he was sure the bullet hadnât hit anything vital, but the amount of blood he was losing was somewhat worrying.
he zones out of their conversation for a few seconds, only tuning back in when he hears his name followed by the words ânot a scratchâ. part of him wants to laugh, but he manages to keep it down for the sake of not unnecessarily moving his abdomen. he has been trying to keep it hidden, but the fact that bishop had been as unobservant enough to miss the giant, dark stain on his hoodie was a bit hilarious. the very fact that he follows up the statement with another comment on how he was uninjured almost sends him over the edge.
âyeah, yeah i did,â he bemuses when bishop turns around long enough to finally notice. âdidnât hit anything important, though.â his eyes widen halfway through his sentence as the other approaches with surprising speed. he pulls his hand away from the wound long enough for him to take a look, hoping he could help. the following quiet, but sudden apology takes him by surprise. what was he saying sorry for? he, however, leaves the questions for another time as the newcomer was called over to help. âitâs okay,â he whispers back before apollo gets close enough. better to ease the tension before it got out of hand.
