Y’all are Elam and Astara “together” or is the English tripping me in the dialogue?

When you introduce yourself to Elam he says “I’ve been with Astara at this Sanctuary since its inception.” Am I reading into the “with?”

He talks about “dusky beauties” and spending time with a woman after he killed her husband but I think I low key prefer him to be part of a power couple with Astara lol.
