I just learned that a person I’ve covered work for as a librarian just had one of her sons drown in a canoeing accident just like. a day or something ago. He was going to graduate this summer. And the mother was apparently away on a trip with the other kids when this happened. The police still haven’t found the body but it is very much assumed that he’s drowned. It feels kinda surreal. Like I didn’t have a PERSONAL connection to her so to speak, but I’ve talked to her multiple times before and stuff. I can’t even imagine the guilt she must feel what a tragedy
