I played clarinet for 1 year in 6th grade (I realized a woodwind instrument is a bad idea when u have asthma) and one time I was practicing at home without shoes or socks on and a BIG glob of spit fell on my foot and it was terrible and disgusting and I had undiagnosed OCD. I think this is maybe part of the reason I am a chronic sock wearer now.

Also i really hated having to suck on the reed like a fucking popsicle every time I had to replace it. If I wanted to go lick a tree I can do that for FREE

I got another spam comment today on AO3, and I want to share it as a PSA. But before I do, I want you to understand that you SHOULD NOT DO what this comment is asking. Ok? Ok.

See that bit at the bottom? Don't do that. Insert ParamedicGuy.gif going "Don't."

Other malicious spam comments I've gotten seemed designed to make an author question their writing, or outright encourage them to delete their stories from AO3. This one is different, in that it tries to get you to destroy the work on your own computer.

If you ran that command, it basically locates your Documents folder, then deletes everything in it, including all subfolders. It also does it without any prompt, so you have no chance to second guess your actions.

This is just fucking trolling.

Coincidentally, we just did training on a cyberattack similar to this, called a ClickFix attack. You can read about how that works here.

As a general rule, if ANYONE or ANY WEBSITE tells you unsolicited* to do anything in Powershell, CMD RUN, command prompt, shell command, or something similar, DON'T.

*There are legit reasons for running commands in PowerShell or the command prompt, but in those cases you are likely seeking out a solution to a problem you are already experiencing. Don't just run random commands on your computer as recommended by some unlogged-in guest on a fan fiction site.

Always think and consider before taking action, and get a second opinion from a trusted source. When I got this comment I was pretty sure what the command would do, and it took me about three seconds of googling to confirm it.

The problem with the new AI detection system on Pinterest is that it is often wrong and makes people think my art is AI generated

Pinterest uses some sort of detection system and I've noticed it's been getting worse over time. It will tag Minecraft builds as AI generated, as if that isn't the easiest type of image for me to look closely and tell "nope the perspective is all good, each block has a clear outline, this is real" 💀

Some official assets from an unreleased FNaF project from 2023 were released and they kind of make me uncomfortable. They're by Pinky Pills so thats not a huge surprise... I like the vaporwave-esque aesthetic they have going on though.

I made some edits to the Toy Baby one in Procreate. Maybe I'll do the others idk. Some more comments under the cut.

I never want to be the "I improved/fixed your art" kinda person and I am not claiming to have done that!! I just made some edits to change things that made me a little uncomfortable, especially due to Pinky Pills past behavior.

Adjusted the waist, hips, and legs posing to seem less suggestive/exaggerated

Reduced the size of her behind to keep the pear shape of her body while also being a little more proportional

Removed the small protrusion on the right (viewer's left) side of her face

Removed the earring on that side to be more consistent with the perspective

Adjusted her mouth to be a bit more natural & draw less attention

Removed the breast accentuation so the top doesn't look as skin tight

Replaced the orb(?) bellybutton with an "x" like some plushies have to draw less attention

Gave her a skirt bc imo it always felt kinda iconic to her character. I could've done a better job with the skirt or maybe made it into shorts, but oh well, I did my best

I tried to add in a bit of shading & an overlay for scratches to make my edits blend in more

Pexels has images that are free to use without credit. They don't allow AI images so you don't have to worry about vetting that :)

Wikmedia Commons has a ton of stuff and you can filter by license type

There is no excuse for using AI art when there is so much free to use stuff out there that is fun to look through and can be genuinely inspiring on its own.

Im still annoyed about the time in my anthropology class that my professor and a student mentioned something (i dont remember well but I think it was) about there not being many delis in Texas. I responded that it was possibly bc of the lower Jewish population there (just a guess) and they proceeded to argue with me that delis are not Jewish (i know not all of them are) because the word deli is Italian. I feel so insane about ai. I've had face-to-face conversations with people who use it for therapy, who use it to calculate the safety of pill interactions, who use it for all their emails and grant applications and legal documents and academic papers and finance sheets and for every single question they have about the world, and if you tell them about the ecological costs they just laugh and say "I guess I've used a lot of water." and I've been in multiple gatherings of 10+ people where I'm THE ONLY PERSON who doesn't use chatgpt. it's turning me into a ranting raving pariah, because how don't you people see??? why don't you understand??????? this bullshit didn't exist five years ago, you absolutely do not need it, and it is destroying everything
