in light of the modern day puritans convention happening at simsecret, i’ll just take this moment to remind you that i’m an adult! i’m 21! and while the content of my story isn’t necessarily graphic, i’m still an adult who sometimes talks about adult things! please block / unfollow if that makes you uncomfortable in any way
I've added an excerpt under the cut. Memoirs of a Requiem are little stories, a collection of memories that belong to my sim Aleck... Ive been into writting again so I might post these here and there!
Over the next thirty minutes, there was enough books on the large table to build a makeshift fortress around Alecks line of vision. A fortress that provided him little stability, it lacked the information that would ease his determined and curious mind. Out of the first four books, he was only able to count the word ghost more times then there was sentences. "Maybe Im not looking in the right places" he said to himself as he pushed the chair back with his legs to stand. With careful handling, he closed the books and started stacking each of them on his arm in the order he had pulled them from. His intricate genetics allowed him to remember everything, from the slightest movements to what his first grade classmate wrote on the bottom of his desk, to the sound of an artificial heartbeat in womb. It was all strange to him. His babysitter Maxwell, who was his families butler, always told him that he was just different, but Aleck knew better than that. There was much more to him than Maxwell and even his father let on.
His toned arms began to shake a little as the load got heavier and unbalanced, indicating that he would have to come back and get the rest. Aleck put his other arm under to stabilize the pile of encyclopedias and began to walk towards the far isles in the back, his knuckles turning white from holding on the bottom tightly, his face scrunching up as he began to struggle with the books. Normally with his strength, this task was a breeze but tonight it shifted. Aleck was flawed with a weak immune system, which meant he got sick easily. And he might have made the mistake of studying in his damp clothes "I got this..." his voice broke trying to keep the books lifted, with quick thinking he held them against the wall so that he could gather energy. After a few moments of regaining some of his strength, Aleck straightened his shoulders and took a deep breath, mentally counting to three and pushed off the wall with the books. A cart would have help a lot you idiot. He mouthed to himself as he stumbled backwards a bit from pushing too hard, horror dawned on him as the top book fell to the ground and then the next. "Help.." Aleck barely spoke out, as he fell back on his ass. The books spilling out onto the floor around him with multiple thuds. Each loud thud sound making him cringe. Aleck disliked the sound of anything dropping, especially books. Books that belonged to someone? that wasn't a pretty sound. Books that belong to a store? that made him feel physical pain, books that belonged to a library? it was like he dropped the most sacred monument in the world. It only took him a moment to ignore the pain in his tailbone and pry his eyes open to look at the chaos.
The more Aleck sat on his postérieur and stared at the books laying on the floor, the more he felt the pull of gravity weighing down on each of his limbs, it was beginning to feel a lot like someone was dropping boulders on his joints and at the same time it had made the air thicker, which began to cease normal functionality of his lungs, leaving him gasping for long deep breathes. The room was spinning, the shelves felt like they were going to swallow him up but Aleck was familiar with this feeling by now and he knew very well that it was the start of a panic attack, a condition he developed just recently and had hoped would be under control by the end of the week, just as any issue had. Ignore it. With a strong mental push, he ignored the signs and scrambled onto his knees to keep himself upright. Ever since the nightmare he had a couple weeks before, his body reacted in ways he wasn't used to, first came the waves of constant paranoia and then the panic attacks. Maxwell had told him that it was normal but he felt there had to be more to it. There was things he could remember before and then suddenly not remember, there was definitely something strange going on. Out of his thoughts and trying to focus his wary mind, he had finally noticed the sound of his phone going off. Ding ding ding. He wasted no time on getting to his feet and searching for his phone. Once he found it, he read the text message from Maxwell.
“There seems to be an altercation with your brother. I pulled this from surveillance cameras in the area”
Aleck watched the video. Whatever strife he was feeling over the pile of encyclopedias on the floor had dissipated. His brows knitted together in annoyance. The video revealed his little brother being followed by a large group of masked men—a robbery attempt. He knew his brother could hold his own but the situation had two issues. The first one being that his little brother was supposed to stay at their family estate, he technically had no business being there, and the second issue being that these robbers did not bring fists to a five versus one fight.
“Let me go take care of this” Aleck stuffed his phone into his pocket and grabbed his jacket. Leaving the mess behind and leaving the premises to get his younger brother out of trouble.

He had arrived just in the nick of time. His little brother had already managed to scare off a couple of them but the remaining men were quickly gaining advantage on the tall boy. “Bats to a fist fight boys?” Aleck held the pistol up, aiming it at the two men and especially pointing it at the one holding the bat, looming over the back of his brother. “Aht aht aht! this isnt a fair fight now is it, fuck off will you?” He seethed. The men backing up and dropping the bat, the hunk of metal chimed as it hit the concrete.
“Aleck what the hell, put the gun down, I almost had him!” Zeppelin whined out of annoyance, his hand had gripped onto Alecks wrist so that he would lower the pistol. It was clear the boy was lying but Aleck knew his brother best, even if he had lost and got his ass kicked. Zeppelin would have won the next one. A stifled laugh emitted past Alecks lips at the proclamation. “Zeppelin, thats such bullshit. Look at you. You’re bleeding and you look exhausted” Zeppelin fell to a crouching position, an attempt to catch his breath and regain some of the energy he had lost trying to defend himself. “What are you doing here, you were suppose to stay at home”
Tsk. Aleck glared at Zeppelin, annoyed now. “No. You were to suppose to stay at the estate. Instead I find you causing trouble?” Aleck couldnt help his angry tone but it was out of brotherly love that he would often throw himself in the line of fire for his little brother, so yeah he had his reasons to take up an attitude every time. A low groan came from the man that Zeppelin had knocked out previously and out of his own annoyance and frustration, Aleck walked over and used his foot to knock the man unconscious again. “Lets go Zeppelin. Maxwell will see to it that this mess is cleaned up”
The two boys walked away from the scene and headed home. They would together deal with the consequences of their night.
