Settling Down - Chapter lll
(A/N): AHHHHH things are getting good!!
Summary: Y/N has a heart to heart with her parents. Afterwards, her and Chris decided to watch the sunrise together. And maybe they had a heart to heart too.

Now that everyone was settled in the house, it was time to explore. Y/N was heading to find Chris to see if he would go walk around with her, but with just her luck, she ran into her parents instead.
“Y/N, darling, we were just looking for you. Let us go on a walk. There is something we need to discuss.” Her mom said, with that all too familiar face that she used to see all the time growing up.
“Well let me find Chris, so he can go- “ Before she could finish her mom cut her off.
“No, your mom and I need to talk to you. Alone.” Her dad said sternly.
Y/N was speechless and hands down embarrassed because she knew that someone had to have heard that whole conversation.
It took everything in her not to cry but somehow, she managed to hold the tears in and walked out of the house with her parents. She was expecting the absolute worst to come out of this.
She was out the door and her parents were hot on her heals. Chris came out of the bathroom and saw the three of them walk out the door. He was so close to following but decided against it.
“Y/N, sweetheart, we need to talk about what’s going on here.” Her mom told her, as her dad nodded his head agreeing.
“Mom, Dad, if you brought me out here to scold me on the decisions, I make now could effect my future forever or any of that bullshit, I don’t want to hear it. I am an adult, I know how to take care of myself. I don’t need you nagging me on every decision I make.” Y/N nearly shouted, the more she said the angrier she got. “I let both of you control every aspect of my life for 18 years, and then when I finally realized how toxic that was, I stopped. I get it that your lives may not have been perfect, but this is my life and its time that you finally let me live it.”
Her parents were speechless. They were both at a serious loss for words. This was a side of Y/N they had not seen before. She was always on the quiet side and when she was confronted with something she usually just listened.
“I’m sorry for getting so upset but do you guys seriously not see how wrong that was? You never gave me the chance to just be a kid or teenager.” Y/N said after she calmed herself down.
“Honey, we are so sorry. We just wanted what was best for you.” Her dad said grabbing her hand.
“I know you did but you should have let me live my life and helped guide me some along the way if I needed it.” She explained to him.
“Sweetie, how serious are you about this guy?”
“I’m in love with him. He is so perfect, it is almost unreal. He makes me laugh, he never disrespects me, he understands my boundaries when it comes to certain things. Now that I have him in my life, I do not think I could ever let him go. He is my forever, mom.”
Y/N was in tears at this point. She did not realize how in love with Chris she was until she heard herself talking about him.
She was head over heals in love with him and never wanted to spend another minute apart from him.
Her parents both hugged her. She had not experienced a hug like this with them in a long time, if ever. This was a true hug.
She felt as if she had finally escaped this cage that they had her in for so long. She felt so unbelievably happy and loved.
“Go get you guy sweetie, there is something your dad and I would like to say to him.” Her mom told her.
Y/N went to head to get him only to see him heading their way already. She ran to him and grabbed his hand only to pretty much drag him to her parents.
“Chris, we wanted to apologize to you for coming off the wrong way at the start. And we wanted to thank you for loving our daughter the way you do. You brought a side of her that we didn’t know she had and that we needed to see.” Her parents told him.
Y/N stood aside and watcher her parent and the love of her life talk, and she felt like she was dreaming. Life had never been more perfect for her then now.
She was truly and one hundred percent happy. Who would have thought that this trip would be this great?
The next more Chris and Y/N got up early to see the sunrise. They loved the family time, but they needed some time to themselves.
Even if it was just a couple of hours, they just needed a moment alone together, away from the chaos.
They decided to leave their phones their to just escape for a little bit. Well let us just say that was the first mistake.
Alongside, not telling anyone where they were going. They walked and walked until they found a spot that luckily had a bench.
“I love you. You know that?” Chris asked.
“I love you more.” Y/N replied with a small smile.
“Baby, I wouldn’t if I were you because we both know I will win this.” He said smiling back at her.
“You seem to be growing on my parents.”
“I know, they don’t seem so uptight anymore. Like they are finally loosening up.”
“They are and I’m loving it. I haven’t seen them so happy.” Y/N said looking at Chris.
She just sat there and stared at him in awe. She was so full of love for him she felt as if she was going to explode.
“What are you staring at?” Chris asked laughing.
“I want you to know that I want to spend forever with you. I want it all with you. I know that none of this is going to happen tomorrow or next week, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You are my future, Chris. You are my forever.” Y/N told him.
“And you, baby, are my forever. You know that day I met you, I went back home and told this buddy of mine that I thought I had just met my future wife. And I was not wrong. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” Chris replied grabbing both of her hands.
“Christopher Robert Evans, are you asking me to marry you?” Y/N asked.
“What if I was?”
“Well, if you were, I would probably say that you were crazy.”
Chris reached into his pocket and pulled out a little black velvet box and Y/N gasped at the sight of it. She pulled her hands from his and covered her mouth. Chris went down on one knee.
“Baby, I know we haven’t been together long, but my mom always said when you know, you know. And I know that I want to spend the rest of my life loving you. So, my love, will you marry- “
“YES!” Y/N cut him off and then kissed him.
When she pulled away, he stood up and pulled the ring out of the box and slid it on her finger. She looked at it and then wrapped her arms around his neck as his went around her waist. They both looked out at the sunrise and just held each other close.
Everything was absolutely perfect.

Settling Down - Chapter ll

Summary: Chris came up with this idea for them and both of their families to go on a vacation together. He thought it was perfect but she thought the exact opposite.

After a couple months together Chris and Y/N were at a great spot in their relationship. To say they were happy would be an understatement. She instantly became a part of his family.
He loved watching her play with his niece and nephews. The way they instantly loved and adored her was crazy. Made him wonder what she would be like with kids of their own.
Y/N sat listening as Chris explained his “genius” idea to have her and his family all go on a vacation together. She was an only child so it would be her parents, the rest of Chris’ family, and the two of them.
He thought this was such a great idea, but she did not know. Her parents were the exact opposite of his. They were a little bit on the conservative side, and all around a lot stricter.
Growing up with them was hard enough. As she got older, she thought they would loosen up. But they did the exact opposite.
They criticized every decision that she made. She knew that she just wanted the best for her, but they took it too far. So far as they ran off every guy she brought home.
“Think it’s a good idea?” Chris asked her.
“Babe, you know how my parents are. They already have their doubts about you and me, and I just don’t want to get anywhere and then they make some smart-ass comment and then ruin the whole thing.” Y/N explained to him.
“Stop stressing about the what ifs and think about the fact that this could be a good bonding experience for my family and me to connect with yours.”
“I get that but if I get them to agree to this, we get there and something goes wrong, you better expect an I told you so.”
“So, is that a yes?” He asked with a shit eating grin on his face.
“Yes Chris, I will talk to them.” She replied as she rolled her eyes at him.
After Y/N talked to her parents and the agreed after some convincing, she instantly regretted everything. But she held it in because she knew that Chris was looking forward to this and she was not going let him down by not even trying. They leave in a couple days, and she planned on staying with Chris at his parents until then.
“Oh my god that was hilarious!” Y/N said, dying from laughter after witnessing Scott scare Chris.
“What is this? Are you two ganging up on me now?” Chris asked laughing.
“I had to welcome her into the family in the correct way and that was introducing her to the scare war we have going on.” Scott explained, high fiving Y/N.
“Baby, you should have seen your face! It was so cute.” She said walking over to him wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Oh, you have no idea what you just signed yourself up for, Y/L/N.” He said, placing his hands on her hips.
They both heard the front door open and in came three little kids running up to hug Y/N and Chris.
“Uncle Chris! Y/N!” They all three shouted.
“How are my little munchkins?” Y/N asked hugging them all.
“We missed you Y/N, and you too Uncle Chris!” They giggled going to hug him too.
“Well, I now see who the favorite is here!” He said laughing and looking at Y/N.
They took Y/N’s hand and ran into their playroom, her following closely behind them. Chris stood and watched with her with them through the doorway.
His mom walked up beside him with a smile. She just stood there for a minute looking in between the two.
“You really do love her, don’t you?” His mom asked him.
“More than I can even explain.” Chris said, turning to look at his mom.
They both turned and looked back at Y/N only to find her underneath a dog pile of little kids. It was then that Chris finally let it sink in how much he truly was in love with her. She was his forever same as he was hers.
The morning came and it was time to wake up everyone to head to the airport. Y/N woke up and went into the kitchen to find Scott awake making coffee.
After chatting with him and fixing herself a cup, she headed back to Chris’ room to wake Mr. Sleeping Beauty.
“Babe, its time to get up.” She said, shaking his arm and planting a small kiss to his cheek.
“Mm, five more minutes…” Chris said, in his sleepy morning voice.
“This was your idea, so you got to get up.” Y/N said shaking his arm again, going to stand up just to be pulled back down.
“I change my mind, let us just stay here and let everyone else go. We would have the whole house to ourselves to do anything we wanted.” He said slowly moving his hand down her back.
His eyes quickly opened at a cough coming from the door. He looked and there was his parents standing outside of his room.
“Hi mom, hi dad…” Chris said holding back a laugh. Y/N on the other hand buried herself into his chest trying to hide her red cheeks.
“You two love birds need to get moving or we will all miss our flight.” Chris’ mom said before they both walked away.
The airport was slow and boring as usual. But they made it on time. The plane ride there was easy, so was the car ride to the house they were renting. Everyone was getting settled and aquatinted to with her parents.
“You two have raised and amazing woman.” Lisa, Chris’ mom, told Y/N’s parents.
“Well, we tried our best to keep her in good schools with good grades to ensure she has a good future. So far we have been successful.”
Y/N stood from afar, watching this interaction happen between their parents, scared out of her mind but she held it in. She promised Chris she would not stress out about them the whole time and she intended on keeping that promise to him.
Although she had a horrible feeling in her gut that this vacation was going to get remarkably interesting.

It became tradition for the two. Every day while Chris was in his hometown, they ran the same paths just to see each other. That was until the day came that Chris had to go back home to LA. It was last run until he was able to come back and to be fully honest, Y/N was a little worried.
They had become close and she does not know what to think about everything. She knew this day was coming, it just came a lot sooner than what she wanted. She had so much on her mind because in all honesty she did not know what to expect with him going back.
She continuously let her insecurities get the best of her. Worrying if when he went back, was he going to meet another girl. Was he going to forget all about her? Was this whole thing just a joke? Did she even mean anything to him at all?
Even though she knew most of these things were not true at all, her mind as just going a million to nothing. She could not stop thinking of all the things that could possibly go wrong. And if anyone knew Y/N, you would know that when her insecurities got the best of her, she would shut down. She would go MIA and hide from the whole world.
Chris was not used that type of thing. So, when he went to say goodbye to her, and she was not there, he did not know what to think. He was trying not to panic in a way. He had to be at the airport in an hour and there was no way in hell he was going to leave without seeing her first.
He did not know where to go or who to contact. For weeks, they had this little thing going on and he had yet to meet any of her friends or family. Hell, I do not even think he took her on a proper first date. All they did was look forward to running together and talking about their lives, maybe sneak in a bit of flirting and a few small kisses.
After thirty minutes passed, the panic had fully set in. He felt like he could not breathe. Chris had no idea where Y/N was or if she was okay. He did not know what to do, but the only thing he did know was that he would be damned if he was going to go anywhere before he knew if she was okay.
The next morning rolls around and Y/N decides to finally go back home. Her heart hurt thinking that Chris was gone, and she never said goodbye. She managed to hold the tears back until she pulled into her neighborhood and passed by the spot where they first met. They finally came down with full force. She sobbed the whole way to her house.
When she got there, she saw a figure on her front patio. She wiped her eyes to try and see who it was. When she did, there was a very sleepy looking Chris waiting for her. To say she was shocked would be an understatement. She jumped out of the car and ran over to him. He looked exhausted, like a tired and lost puppy.
Y/N bent down beside him and shook his arm lightly. He opened his eyes and they immediately locked on her. His arms engulfed her small body and he held her tight as if he never wanted to let her go.
“Where were you?” Chris’ raspy and drained voice whispered.
“I thought you were gone.” Y/N replied softly.
“You didn’t answer my question.” He whispered again.
“I needed to get away. I needed to run and try to escape the pain. But it obviously didn’t work out too well.” She explained.
“You weren’t going to say goodbye?” He asked, and she heard the hurt in his voice.
“I wanted to. But I didn’t think that I could.” Here came the tears again.
Chris slowly let go f her and when she pulled back, he saw the tear-stained cheeks sparkling with a few newer fresh tears, he would have sworn his heart just broke. He placed his hands on both sides of her face and wiped the tears away with his thumbs.
“Baby, I thought something happened to you.”
When he said “baby” she almost melted. She placed one of her small, cold hands on his cheek and kissed him so passionately it almost hurt. That kiss was the most real thing they both had felt in a while. The mix of sparks and butterflies between them was the best feeling.
Once they pulled away, she placed another small peck to his lips and then placed her forehead on his. Both of their eyes were closed, and they were just soaking in all of it. Every feeling and emotion shared between them.
“Be mine.” Chris whispered to her breaking the silence.
“What?” Y/N peeled herself away from him.
“Be mine,” He looked her in the eyes and took her hands in his,” When I couldn’t find you yesterday, I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I was so worried and felt like if anything had happened, it would have been my fault. Which is why I did not leave. I stayed here because I needed to know that you were fine.”
Y/N was taken back from everything he was saying. She felt the same way towards him but now that he was actually talking about it, she does not know what to think. If she could run again, she probably would but I do not think that Chris is going to let her out of his sight right now.
“I knew from the first day I laid my eyes on you, that you were going to be special. That you were going to change my world. And baby, you have. You have changed my life in ways I did not even know was possible. But now all I know is that I want you and I want you for the rest of my life. So Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N, will you please be mine?”
Settling Down (Prologue)

Summary: The day Chris meets his person.

Chris needs a refreshment. He needs a break. He believes he is at a point in his life where he knows he should be settling, like getting married and starting a family. But he has yet to find anyone to motivate him to get there yet. All he knows is that he needs to find that, rather sooner than later.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Scott, his brother, asked.
“I don’t know. I have been thinking lately, and all my buddies are having kids, getting married, or already have that all. And I think that I’m at a point in my life and career that maybe I should start trying to get there and start setting down.” Chris explained.
“Well, if that’s what you want then go for it, but you do know that to get married and start a family, that means you need to find a serious girlfriend first, right?” Scott and him both chuckled.
“Yes, Scott, I know that these things are a two-person job.”
The next morning comes and as he was taking Dodger on a walk, this person caught his eye. He stopped dead in his tracks and was almost star struck. He had never seen her around before. She felt his stare on her and looked up at him with a small grin.
Chris snapped himself out of the trance he headed across the street to get to the sidewalk she was on, Dodger right on his heals. Before he got to say a word, she spoke up.
“I’m glad you actually came over here, for a minute I thought you were going to stand there gawking all morning.” She said with a little giggle.
“I’m Chris.” He said with a smile.
“Y/N. And who is the cutie beside you?” Y/N said bending down to pet him.
“That would be Dodger.” Chris said.
Y/N stood back up and held her hand out for Chris to shake. He took her small hand in his and, for a minute he swears it went numb. He was in complete and utter awe of this woman.
“So, Y/N, are you new to the neighborhood? I haven’t ever seen you around before.”
“Yes, in fact I am.” She smiled again.
“How are you liking it?”
“Loving it! The community here is amazing. Everyone is super sweet.”
Before Chris could reply she spoke up again.
“Sorry to cut this short but I need to get home and get ready for work. It was nice meeting you though!”
The just like that she was gone. And for the rest of the day Chris could not stop thinking of her. If he didn’t know any better he probably say he just met his future wife...

Space | Connor Brashier
Connor’s been extremely busy since he’s come home from tour with Shawn. He’s been almost as busy as he was on tour.
Collabing with David Dobrik. Connecting with Madison and planning future projects. Filming a music video with Kygo. Meetings with Shawn’s team about new music and the docu from tour.
You’ve seen him just about as much as you did while he was on tour. The difference being, you share a home, and he is actually home. Well most of the time. While with David he hopped a flight to Vegas and didn’t tell you until after he had arrived. He’s traveled to Canada for meetings and to see Brian. Never once thinking to invite you.
“I’m busy, what the fuck do you want me to do about it?” He spits, eyes glued to his phone.
You actually wonder if his eyes are still blue, because you can’t remember the last time he looked up from his phone long enough for you to be able to focus on the color. Soon they have to turn into a screen themselves right?
“Take a break? It is a human thing to do.” You mutter, washing up the dinner dishes.
“I don’t need to though. You’re just being fucking needy.”

Seeing Someone

Summary: You finally got all of your memory back after and decide to go and see Shawn after two years. It all goes well until Shawn has something to tell you.

Two soft knocks at my front door wake me up. I cautiously get up and walk downstairs and over to it. Stopping and checking the time. Almost seven in the morning. Who the hell would be here right now?
I peek out of the small window in the door before unlocking it and opening it.
Someone grabs me and pulls me close before hugging me tightly. I push the person back, stopping to look at who it was.
"What the hell?" I say stepping back into the house a little. Am I dreaming right now?
"Y/n?" My tone softens and is sadder at the sight of my girl. Wait, is she even my girl anymore?
"I remember." She says her voice cracking and her eyes were puffy and red.
My mouth fell open. I’m trying to find the right words but can't seem to fit them all together.
"Please. Just listen. All I need is for you to listen to me." She says and taking a slow step into the house. I nod and walk around her closing the door and then sit on the couch.
So many memories flood back. The time her and I first stepped into this place and instantly knew it was ours. All of the New Years parties we threw here. When she forced me to watch the movie My Girl with her and we both ended up crying because of it. And so much more. All of the memories her and I shared here came flooding back in my mind at the sight of her.
I look at her intently waiting for her to say something. She looked so gorgeous. Even after two years without seeing her, she still looked like the same girl I fell in love with.
"I'm sorry I hugged you like that and didn’t even say hi first. I couldn't help myself. But Shawn, I remember everything now. I have for a couple months now, but nobody would let me visit you before. Until today, I got your mom’s number from my mom’s phone and bought a plane ticket by myself. She came and picked me up and brought me to you."
"You’ve known for a couple months? How long is a couple months?" I say quietly.
“Nine.”
“What the fuck?!” I said raising my voice slightly. Nine months? She’s remembered for nine months and hasn’t said anything. What is going on right now?
"I know! And I just want ready then! I just got all my memory back and I didn't want to rush into coming and seeing you. And I was scared to get here and see that you’ve moved on."
"Why now? Why didn't you call and tell me you got your memory back but wasn’t ready to come home yet? I went on everyday for those two years praying to god that you would come back to me. And now that I finally started to accept everything, you’re here and saying that you remember."
"I'm sorry. I just. I don't know what I was thinking okay?I just-"
I cut her off by pulling her into a kiss. A gentle but passionate kiss that I have craved for so long. But it feels so wrong.
When I pulled away tears were streaming down my face. She reaches up, caressing my cheek and wipes away the tears with her thumb.
"Don't cry bub." She said pulling me closer and kissing my cheek. Bub, I haven’t been called that since the night before her car accident.
She holds me the way she used to when we kissed. Her small hands on my face, fingers getting lost in my hair. I look down at her. I missed her more than I can ever explain.
“You know, I blamed myself for what happened to you for so long. If I wouldn’t have ever told given you the idea to come and surprise me at the studio, you wouldn’t be in the situation you have been. You would’ve still been here with me and we would be engaged and about to be married by now.”
“You shouldn’t have been blaming yourself. I had that idead long before you mentioned it. I was planning on doing it anyways. I just thought that I would go sooner rather than later.”
I started at her. The woman that I loved more than anything on this planet. The woman I tried to put my life on hold to wait for. But failed so desperately at. And now I have her sitting in front of me, ready to start our lives together again.
What the fuck am I supposed to do now?
"I love you." She says and gently pecks my lips.
"Wait. There’s something I need to tell you." I said slowly, realization settling in.
“Okay. What is it bub?” She says, looking me in the eyes, trying to read me.
“I’m seeing somebody.”
“You’re what?!”
