BABBLER | The Duchess of Henford Masters 'Tiara Diplomacy': Shines Bright in Colonial Diamonds to 'Foster Unity'
(OOC: This is totally unrelated to feelings about real-life state banquets and visits, haha.)
Last night, the Duchess of Henford gave a masterclass in how to make history literally sparkle. At the annual Diplomat’s Reception, the future Queen of Vernick arrived wearing the Princess Beatrice Pearl Tiara, which features 7 large peals supported by a bandeau dripping in diamonds, none of which originated in Vernick (side eye). With the kind of effortless grace only royalty can pull off, the court jeweler called the diadem a “symbol of unity and reconciliation,” which had many wondering whether irony was also part of the dress code. The Duchess, all dazzling smiles and unapologetic glam, showed us the art of ‘Tiara Diplomacy,’ embracing the idea that maybe the best way to smooth over historical wounds is to outshine them in carats. Bold move? Absolutely. Ironic? 100%. But hey, who can argue with that level of sparkle?
