As soon as Swineheart had assured her Bigby would in fact survive this, she demanded to be let into his room, or she'd cut the funding to the doctor's operations. Soon enough, she sat next to the bed and waited for Bigby to wake up.

HE HAD a knack for getting into fights he couldn’t win, but who could’ve known that the mundies had made another movie with the Woodsman? Bigby hadn’t even been mentioned once, and the extra spurt of power on the Woodsman’s end had him knocked out cold, with an ax through his brain.

So there he lay, with IVs of Fable blood dug deep into the flesh of his wrists. He’d been cleaned up, so he didn’t look as rough as he had, and his own blood only showed where there were bandages for it to soak into.

All that came from him was a stir, much like that of a dog’s, and a jerk of his arm before his since-calmed eyes flickered open. For a moment, he thought himself still under attack, and a growl drew out -- alerting the nearby doctor to his aggravation until he realised; Snow was there. She was safe. He hadn’t failed.
