hello everyone ! im almost done building wrio (I'll fix him soon i promise) , which team would be good with him?
Depends what you want to do with him.
If you give him more Elemental Mastery (probably an EM Sands) you can run him in a Melt team with Bennett/Xiangling[/Thoma{requires high ER and HP investment}]/Anemo flex [Kazuha, Sucrose, Lynette, Jean)
If you want to do Freeze, you would have another Cryo for Resonance (extra Crit rate) with Xingqiu[/Ayato/Kokomi/Yelan/Barbara]/Shenhe[/Layla/Rosaria/Kaeya/Diona/Burst Ganyu]/Anemo Flex (see above, Sucrose is more useful in Melt with her EM share)
You can do Hyperfridge (Hyperbloom with a freeze element) so [Nahida/Dendro Traveler/Collei]/Xingqiu[/Yelan]/Kuki Shinobu[/Raiden Shogun on an EM build]
You can also do Mono-cryo (No reactions except Cryo Swirl) with Shenhe[/Rosaria/Kaeya/Layla/Ganyu]/[Kazuha/Lynette]/Flex (Healer required at C0 so Diona would slot in well here as would Sayu or Jean)
Another Variation for Freeze is Double Geo with Yun Jin (buffs Normal attack damage)/Zhongli[/Noelle, though not reliable]/Xingqiu[/Yelan/Kokomi]. Though do be careful with this one as he can break the Freeze status with Shatter reactions
All of these builds use 4pc Marcheussee Hunter (Atk% Sands [Freeze/Cryo/Fridge], Crit Rate or Crit DMG head piece (DMG for Freeze/Mono Cryo. Your Crit Rate before Resonance and Hunter should be around 40% ish. 50% for Fridge and Melt WITH Hunter set) & a Cryo DMG Bonus Goblet. For Melt you can do 4PC Gilded Dreams instead to ease up on EM requirements since you'll get it from the 2pc set and the 4pc effect, though more EM is always helpful when triggering these reactions. In this case it's EM/ATK% Sands/Crit Headpiece (Whichever gets you to the 1:2 ratio, with Wrio and Widsith Crit Rate headpiece is preferred in Melt)/Cryo DMG Bonus Goblet
Personally I'm running him in a Freeze team with Ganyu/Kazuha/Kokomi
I've heard melt is his best team comp since he deals more damage but of all the characters you mentioned, i only have xiangling and yelan built 🥹 cuz i only focused on my team and now I'm all out of materials for everyone else,,, maybe melt would also be the fastest to build since i got xiangling at 85 already, shenhe at 50, only bennet is lvl 1 which means it's gonna be a pain farming for him
do you think i should invest some time in shenhe and bennet? rn im playing with wrio (previously kaeya), dendro traveler, yelan nd xiangling
also I don't have any healer except apparently bennet so
Melt does more damage because of the type of reaction it is, which is Amplify (the other is Transformative, which scale off EM and Level only. Swirl and Bloom fall under this category) so it scales off you EM and Crit stats.
And that's ok if you can't get teams all set up and running right away. You can do a little at a time.
And yes if you have Shenhe, I figure she's one of his biggest damage amplifiers on account of directly buffing Cryo Damage and being able to use the Nobellese Oblige set to buff his damage further. However she won't do much if you decide to use Melt (or Burn-Melt, which is a team I forgot to mention but it's really only usable with Nahida due to Dendro Traveler's burst exploding when coming into contact with Pyro) since her burst will steal Melts from Wriothesley.
Wrio, Dendro Traveler, Yelan and Xiangling does work as a team as long as you remember to use Yelan's hydro attacks to transform the Lotus lamp before unleashing Xiangling. It's similar to a Burn-Melt team with extra Burgeon but survivability becomes an issue when you can't use food.
Also you should have Barbara, she was free from completing Mondstadt's archon quest. She works well as a healer if you don't want to commit to building Bennett at this time.
Considering Shenhe and Bennett create different team roles, it's once again up to you which team you want to try. Melt/Bennett will give you a higher damage ceiling and can be used against bosses but Shenhe/Freeze will give you comfort play vs enemies that Can be frozen (non-bosses) though it also does open up Mono-Cryo for bosses as well though you will still need to have an invested Anemo character to swirl Cryo and a healer to deal with his hp drain.
