OK I fixed some stuff,, I drew chaeya in the famous pool scene from the csm movie partly cuz kaeya would look DAMN good as reze ALSO childe has a lot of parallels with denji…… both are seen as weapons/their powers instead of who they are as people i feel like… and childe’s ties to the abyss alongside kaeya being the heart of the abyss HELLO

pls how are you so good at poses and hands (and everything else ofc but those two really stood out as the best in my opinion) could you maybe give some tips and tricks on how to make good poses or hands? (If not that’s totally fine)

This is really funny to me because like. Have you seen some of the hands I’ve drawn. Wait don’t go look through them, I have tips yeah lol

For poses I answered a similar ask here, and another ask about building on top of gesture drawings and refs here! Those are a good place to start practicing!

As for hands, I’m taking an applied approach so this isn’t meant to be a substitute for an anatomy class.

I LOVE how you draw smiles, do you have any advice on how to draw natural, hearty smiles? I've tried looking for references but real life faces are nowhere as expressive as your art

Let's cover the basics first!

What I keep in mind when I go to draw smiles especially is that they are in motion along with the characters. The right smile adds story to the gesture!

(sorry for the shit quality and watermarks on that last page, the drawings are for a project I’m doing with a friend)

When you’re doing your own studies, I recommend using candid photography as reference! It'll yield much more lively results than the stiff posed-out stuff.

so when i was approx 11 yrs old, i was deeply in love with L from death note. my friends actively discouraged me from this but my love was true and unstoppable.

so when it came time to decorate my binder for sixth grade, naturally i immediately printed out the best graphic of L i could find to slide right in the front. unfortunately, as i mentioned, my friends thought this was dumb as hell. so, embarrassed after several hours of merciless mocking, once i got home i crumpled up and threw the picture away in the trash

several days later i came home again and what do i see on my desk? that picture itself, flattened and framed. my stepmom had found him and said “hes cute! protect him.” and how could i say no to that
