I’ve seen a lot of people talk about their social media problems and it reminded me how little I utilize it. Is that bad? does that show my age? probably. but it also makes me remember how much easier traveling is with technology. not as much social media i guess. but, i remember traveling in the middle of the night to a new town and not knowing if there would be any free hotels. now i can check it with the click of a button.if i didn’t show my age with the social media question, i really am now. do you remember any crazy travel stories pre smart phones? or if you’re that young, do you have any crazy ones post smart phones? | @hollyweirdstarters​

“No social media in most cases only causes issues for people. It creates unneeded drama for others. I prefer to spend my days doing things for comeback or hanging around with my friends. I remember my childhood without phones or computers. I remember being outside and climbing trees and wasting the day away with friends. That was always much more fun to me than social media.”

I just think that a lot of things aren’t widely talked about out of fear that includes our health mentally. I still have baggage I carry with me from childhood and from time to time it likes to creep up on me. So honestly there needs to be things in place long before something tragic happens. It’s creepier without the makeup! It probably helps that I had been doing that face since I was ten.

“I think it’s just due to things being something new every concert date almost. Since things differ with us and how we act with each other and such. It’s true though! It was insane what you went through and yet through it all remained so positive. It’s not easy to discuss a battle like that and you did so fearlessly, you should be proud. Not too bad! I went back home to visit family for a little. I don’t get to do it often since they’re in China and I’m in Korea.”

Yes it was a huge deal. I remember when I was living in Australia for awhile and naturally once it got out that I was living over there; someone had happen to have the DVDs of the movies. So, yeah, High School Musical travelled far. I have actually seen videos of celebrities chewing out the paparazzi for following them too closely, for cutting people off. I’m not about to put bad vibes out into the universe but you would think if that were to happen accidentally that they’d feel pretty guilty about it. You’d hope so anyway. Normalcy goes out the window when you’re famous I’m afraid.

“You know what though, be proud of that. Be proud that you made something so good that people all over the world couldn’t stop talking about it. That’s how I feel with my group, we made something that has somehow traveled all over the world. It’s incredible, absolutely. You know I actually think that some of the things paparazzi do should be considered illegal and actionable. Some of the stuff is just downright dirty and therefore they’ve earned their spot in the cell in my opinion. Yeah I’ve noticed that, I can’t believe people have camped outside the dorm here. Like it’s crazy to think about it being over you, you know?”

Definitely! And the only one that called me by my birth name was my grandmother. But pretty much my whole life I’ve gone by my childhood nickname. Well yes it is dumb that they did that. Thank god for my mother and her fighting for me on my behalf when it came to having ownership of my name again. Well I was lost after Hannah Montana wrapped, I didn’t know who I was. 

“You seem to have an amazing mom, one that knows when her daughter needs help. You’re both lucky to have each other, I’m glad. Well of course not, you had no rights to your own damn name basically. I know it’s a nickname but it was clearly yours and not something they came up with on their own.”

And that’s why I live alone where the only one that can bother me is my dog. And luckily for me, we’re very alike and she’ll sleep the day with me as well. Nah, mate, think my body knows tour season is creeping me up and making it fuckin’ impossible to get out of bed ‘cus it knows it’s gonna be functioning off of two hours a night very soon.

They only renamed the character to Miley, which isn’t my birth name by the way, because when we were in blocking my dad kept saying Miley instead of the character’s name on paper. When I wanted to start a music career outside of Hannah Montana my mom had to get a lawyer for me to perform under my own name because Miley was now owned by Disney in their eyes. So it definitely wasn’t a great time working for Disney and I definitely do not recommend it to anyone. I think I’m in a better mindset because I control my path now. I’m the boss of my career versus when I was a kid. 

“Well I can see it being hard to call you another name when he had called you that for a long time. Are you kidding? Your own name was being held captive from you? I’ve never heard something so stupid in my whole life, that’s literally part of you. I think you’ve blossomed into someone real, someone human. That should’ve been a common rule already. Even I, someone who works 16 to 18 hours a day on a movie the whole duration of filming, needs a mental break for my sanity. You just cannot take those. It’s sad how there’s usually no regard for people’s health. And I didn’t even take acting lessons! Okay maybe I shouldn’t brag about that but it is what it is, I did not. I purposely searched for this because this is so not attractive.

“It absolutely should’ve been, I agree. Perhaps that tragedy could’ve been prevented had it been a common rule. It was devastating and it still is, the whole K-pop community still feels it everyday. Yeah thank god though now they’re making that change, they let people have breaks so that we can prevent things like that. Wow that’s amazing! Listen though, you took on that character almost instantly and that’s the true meaning of acting. Becoming the character you play.”
