i headcanon them as very similar to each other, but having taken different paths in life. lars is a more mature version of hwoarang who serves an institution, as opposite to hwoa who follows his own ideals. i feel like lars “rebelling” against the zaibatsu and the tekken force is where their hearts meet(?) and unlike some jin kazamas lars would actually communicate with him, for the good and the bad stuff (though that has to do with the fact he’s older and more experienced?)
