It's been so cold this week. The news is always disheartening. I try to keep up but there is always something worse, something awful. I don't want to become "used" to this reality. I don't want to consider it the new "normal." None of this is okay.

It's a new year. So many things have changed and so many things have not. Each year trying to better myself but still not attaining perfection which is also perfectly fine. It took me a long time to be okay with who I am or more so to figure out who I was. I'm happy with how far I've come in certain areas but I've fallen short in others. I'll continue to work on myself.

I'm lucky to have met the people that are in my life. Unfortunately, I lost my cat in the middle of the year. He lost himself completely due to neurological issues and I'll always miss him. I do currently have a dog and a cat and I'm expecting to hear back on another dog this year. I have a new car. I've had many house expenses but we've managed. I got a promotion at work because my work was recognized.

Only time will tell what will happen this year.
