Sarah McBride just shut down Clint Eastwood’s defense of Donald Trump’s racism.
The National Press Secretary of @humanrightscampaign and first openly transgender speaker at a national party convention, wasn’t willing to let Eastwood’s comments slide.
See the rest of her list here.
damn sarah’s going for the throat
I thought we already knew Clint Eastwood was a racist.
a reminder for nonasian people
you know… with this rise in interest in east asian culture and “aesthetics” over the past couple of years also comes with a rise in asian cultural appropriation… so for every nonasian out there who would consider themselves a fan of cutesy asian things or stuff like kpop or anime, you guys have an obligation to people of the culture you’re enjoying to be informed and educated about their struggles. it’s not right to love and consume cultures that’s not your own while ignoring the people who are part of them. read up on appropriation, the fetishisation and infantilisation of east asian women and desexualisation of asian men, whitewashing in media, xenophobia, the erasure of our achievements and the model minority myth. you owe it to us east asians to be educated on topics that concern us if you’re going to continue to consume media and content we make.
EDIT: if you’re nonasian please reblog this so that other nonasians can see it!!

I think it’s moments like these that remind me why I truly do love SHINee.
When they’re in front of the fans and all they have to do is amaze the audience with their voices, it’s like perfection in the making. Fans see a different side to them; rather than having to captivate the audience with their personality, a gag, or a joke, they’re able to keep a whole room filled with hundreds of fans silent as they sing. Watching their expressions change with each note, watching them concentrate and focus just on the song with no acknowledgement of the audience, it’s truly something to behold.
I love the amount of emotion they put into each breath, the amount of passion that truly keeps them in the moment… It’s breathtaking and brings me to tears. The way they immerse themselves into one song and bring it to life in a way that only they can, it’s spectacular and cannot be replicated. These are the moments I love the most because this is the reason why they’re a global, idol group. Here, they show that they are true performers, and that this is why they were put into SHINee. They’ve worked up to this moment, trained for years to sing in front of thousands for a couple of minutes at a time. They were chosen for this, and they nail each and every single performance.
When people ask me why I love SHINee, a variety of reasons come to mind. They’re lovable, playful, fun to watch and just plain amazing, but what ultimately made me stay in this fandom is their ability to captivate an audience in a way that I’ve never seen before. This is the type of moment that I want to see in person: a performance that is filled with so much emotion, it brings me to tears. This is the reason why I am, and always will be, their fan. There is no other way to explain it.
Because when they do performances like this, they make me happy and proud to be called a Shawol.
Please stan KNK, they’re so funny and adorable 😂

“Growing up, I didn’t have any role models who were Asian men to look up to, and I definitely—still to this day, and through years of therapy—am still dealing with loving the way that I look. Loving my skin tone, not being angry and wishing that my eyes were a different shape or that my nose was a different shape because that was the standard of handsome or beauty growing up for everyone… [being] white.”
do you think that jjong is molesting taemin like some people are saying or he's abusive towards the members?!
honestly, this response won’t be long because i’m furious right now but i’ve been told that there’s some disgusting and dangerous accusations like that floating around in parts of fandom at the moment and i’m … just … i don’t know what to think. i’ve been told that they were created baselessly and basically linked to fan theory and …, no? just? no? there’s a difference between aus that exist for representation and fun, and theories that are legitimately harmful. abuse? molestation? those are, as said, not only baseless but serious accusations and, holy shit, i’m so pissed off right now, lmao. i’m can’t articulate as properly as i’d like to so this is what i have to say on the matter: no, there’s absolutely no truth to that, absolutely none whatsoever.
i want to stress to fandom right now: it doesn’t matter who it involves, everyone needs to recognize how harmful it is for people to create theories like that and spread them around as fact. abuse, molestation? (i’m just repeating myself at this point, i apologize) those are not things to be joked about or taken lightly. you know why? there are plenty of people who aren’t familiar with either jonghyun or shinee who could easily take it as factual or antis who could use it to their advantage. also, could you imagine if something like that found it’s way in toward k-fandom? can you imagine if jonghyun or the other members saw that? it’s not something i want to think about, and it wasn’t something that i wanted to address but their tags are filled at the moment and i’ve gotten more than one anon about it so it felt necessary. i don’t like responding to issues like this in fandom (and i made a post about why just last week), but i can’t let this spread further. this isn’t a situation where there should be critical discourse taking place (like when someone does something wrong and should be criticized for it). this is completely different. i won’t respond to anything else about this, but to stress one more time: be careful and mindful of what you say. this anon alone proves that people can take even the most baseless comments as if they’re fact. there’s a point when this has to stop and that’s right now before it spreads further. just stop.
On this month last year i woke up to the news that same sex marriage was legal in every state
On this month this year i wake up to the news that one man killed 50 LGBT people and injured 53 more at a gay club.
