The last three weeks for all of us CG students summed up in one picture :)
Last day of the CG module I, I just really wanted to post this :) We had a great time and it was a lot of fun, and maya was maya sometimes.
Anyway, I’ll leave you with some test shots of my work from the last few days - interiormagic. I will probably post something moving soonish.
Intro of a short sequence I did in Maya. Same room as in the second last post :)
We had to use all assest we created so far and make a short movie. This time, we were allowed to use colour, tho I only used coloured light.Â
I found the look on accident, its a combination of a super wide lense (165mm), all static meshes were selected for the green outlines and I animated the main light source to simply move forward.
The music is from the sound library at our school.
I might upload the full movie later, tho I’m not yet sure.
Ahh this is so much funÂ
Man pendulum physics are hard.
Still CGI course, this time the focus was on animation.
We had to have 3 objects interacting, and for me it was clear right away that I wanted to make a loop.Â
The 2 balls have quite the different poly structure and I kinda had to hide that. Also theres some issues with the pendulums second swing that seems a bit off and also the physics of this would never work, but eh - who cares, it’s 3D, different rules apply here anyway (or can apply) :)
Again rendered in the viewport with some motion blur added in there as well (its so much fun to work with it actually)
CGI course, yaaaaay.Â
We’re working with Maya and Zbrush, and mostly in the viewport (so only basic material stuff and no rendering - but more experimenting, wuhh)
For this exercise, we had to model a room out of basic shapes (only streching was allowed) and generate a few screenshots in the viewport. We had to play with light and shadows and basically figure out how far we can go with just that. At some point I found the Xray setting and knew what look i wanted to go for :)Â
The stacking of objects interacting with the light that falls through the window created some quite cool effects. The red thingys here and there are the lamps I didn’t hide to give some context whats going on (and to add more elements to the pictures)
It was a lot of fun doing this and I really want to make something in this style but in a bigger scale :)Â
We later reused this room with other assets we created to make a short film.Â
Comparison of the live action acting from Alex Dannecker (Link soon) compared to our finalised animation. I retimed him a little bit (only a few frame adjustments) to make it easier to follow both motions.
From the draft / sketches to the (unfinished) set to the light concept to the finalised shot :)
