painted lips twitched, a wicked grin settling there. what was it about the carnival that tended to draw people to it, even when it was closed? the clown didn't know but, ever the showman, he wasn't about to turn down any good fortune.

The ginger was in chains, her ankles and wrists locked up. Her teal eyes scan the room. "Look, as much as I would want to meet one of the icons, I'd rather it not be tonight Terrance!". She told The group. "It's Toxik now little lady..". Toxik said back, crossing his arms.

it was technically still off season. he had plans, work he was still doing, and he didn't appreciate the disruption. a quick glance over the tv screens showed him what was going on and where.

sticking to the shadows, Jack watched the commotion, curious as to just what the maniacs would do. think of it as a challenge, a test. he expected the most out of his maniacs after all. and unless they star in dress rehearsals for the new show he had coming, they had better make whatever they were up to worth this time.

the clown glared at his brother, teeth clenched tight as he tried to breathe through the pain. the old injury left him bent and broken, barely able to stay on his feet when it acted up like this.

“Bullshit. You think I’d ever forget that look in your eyes? You can fool anyone else around you, but you can’t fool me.”

Chaos

i’m still developing this, but i like the hc that Jack and Chaos are two separate beings. they usually get along and are on the same wavelength, but Chaos will take control from time to time. he’s been with Jack for a very long time and Jack’s personality and temperament have been warped by him. he’ll hold onto a host for as long as he possibly can, mainly because finding a new one takes too much effort.

Chaos is impulsive. he doesn’t like waiting around and doesn’t always think things through before acting. he focuses on instant rewards rather than long sought out ones. he doesn’t care about humans at all, they’re just things for him to mess with and eventually devour.

his hosts will always have a pandora’s box, something to contain them. for Chaos, it’s both handy and annoying. the containment, in Jack’s case his box, lets Chaos return to his realm in Fear’s lantern to rest, escape or heal. but if he returns to the box, someone else has to let him out again.

Jack does not cry easily. it’s rare that he does and he would never let anyone catch him crying. sometimes his chronic pain gets the best of him, sometimes his paranoia does and he gets overwhelmed. he cried for Chance when she was being arrested and beaten, knowing there was nothing he could do.
