“Weird how?”

“Just some work thing I needed him to get to me.” She held the brown envelope in her hand, looking it over, like just the weight of it in her palm would tell her what she needed to know.

“I don’t know like...it’s hard to explain. Maybe it’s just me being weird with people.”

“Sure, but typically not in broad daylight.”

Bina took a bite of her sandwich and when she spoke again, her words were muffled by the food. “Thanks.” She held out her hand for the package. “You hungry? I think I have some snacks in the pantry. And get some water. It’s hot out.”

“Nah, I just had a burger from Joe’s truck,” he answers. He does still, make his way to the fridge to get a cold bottle of water out.

“So what’s in the package? ‘Cause Warner was being really weird about it. I’m not sure I understood him fully because his words do that running together thing, but I think one of the statements went ‘ ask ‘er, ‘f y’think she’ll tell ya,’“ Angel adds, mimicking Remi’s voice before he took a drink of water.

Bina was halfway through the sandwich she’d gotten herself for lunch, sitting at the kitchen table of her uncle’s old house when she heard the double knock on the door. She’d unlocked it earlier, expecting Angel to show up at some point after Remi texted her to let her know he’d passed off his delivery.

“The door wouldn’t be unlocked if I wasn’t,” she called back to him.

“True but like, got to make sure you know? You act like people getting snatched up is unheard of in this city,” Angel answers as he closes the door behind him, making his way into the kitchen. Once he does, he takes the envelope out of his pocket and slides it on the table next to her plate before he took a seat across from her.

“One Remi Warner delivery for ya.”

After Angel had finished his “food poisoning,” as Remi had called his delicious lunch, he decided to go ahead and visit with Bina. He makes his way down to Bina’s house. He knocks on the door twice before he opens the door, poking his head in.

“Binaaa? Ya home?”

“Nope. Enjoy your food poisonin’.”

“Good for you, man. Y’know how old y’are, you’re outside all by yourself… Props.”

Angel rolls his eyes and reaches forward, taking the envelope from Remi’s hand and tucking it into the pocket of his jeans

“Need anything else, oh great Warner?”

“Good.” Remi pulled a small brown envelope – about the size of a playing card – from his pocket and held it up in front of Angel. “Give. To. Bina.” He enunciated slowly, eyes meeting the younger man’s.

“Y’understand?”

“Yes, I understand. I’m not five, y’know?”

“Just fuckin’ give it to ‘er. Can ya do that?”

“Yeah, I can. It shouldn’t be a problem.”

“Private,” Remi replied, eyebrows coming together a little, “ask ‘er, ‘f y’think she’ll tell ya.”

“Uh...sure. I mean what am I suppose to be asking she tells me?”

“And if it’s private, how am I suppose to help you get it to her?”

“Can y’give ‘er somethin’ for me?”

“Sure. What is it?”

He’d been on his way back to his car from a meeting with one of his dealers when he spotted Angel, sitting on a bench next to a food truck – a stroke of luck that might save him a trip to the Factory District and some time. “Hey, kid,” Remi approached, calling for the young blond’s attention as he came to a stop in front of him, looking down at his face.

“Y’seein’ Flores ‘nytime soon?”

Angel doesn’t really sit from where he is sitting. Remi had gotten his attention though, that brow furrowing when Remi asks when he would be seeing Sabina.

“Uhhh that depends. Why do you need me to?”

Angel, after realizing he had cooped himself up for far too long in his lab for the week, had decided to come out and get some food and fresh air. For now, Angel had taken his seat on a bench not far from the food truck he had purchased his burger, fries, and drink from. He was reading a book placed in front of him, lost in it for the time being as the crowds passed by him. It isn’t until he notices a shadow stopping over his book does he stop to look up and see who has stopped in front of him, eating another fry as he does.
