“I’m boring because I won’t have sex with you. Wow way to win a girl over, I’m surprised you don’t have a harem of women lining up outside your door. Same side or not, watch your tongue before I watch it for you. Clara is still my flesh and blood and I’ve spent almost thirty years caring about her.”

“Fair enough.” Bailee muttered as she lifted a brow in the woman’s direction. “And now? You still think they would come after you if you left? They’ve got other things to worry about Mal. Bigger fish to fry these days. Hydra doesn’t give a shit about you.”

“If you’re part of the recruitment division you’re pretty terrible at your job,” she shook her head. She knew Hydra didn’t give a shit about her, and she was just another body to them but she had her usefulness and that is why she felt the need to stay. “It doesn’t matter if they don’t give a shit about me or not, I’ve known that since Day One. And I work there so I know they have much bigger fish to fry than worry about a little inhuman slipping through their grasps. It’s not as sweet as leaving the enemy and joining the good guys, some things are much more complicated than that.”

“The Dougals have shown me the light.” he told her. They had actually brainwashed him with their powers but he couldn’t really tell. “I suppose I am dating your sister, since I haven’t gotten the chance to tell her yet that I’m with Hydra now and S.H.I.E.L.D. can suck it.” he shrugged carelessly.  “So…how about it, eh?” he said with a boyish grin while stepping closer. 

“The Dougals, of course,” she said as if there was another alternative. Powerful family, HYDRA pull, recruitment was a given with them. As he stepped closer to her she rolled her eyes. “Down boy. As much as I am estranged from Clara she is still my sister. Also I’m not taking in her sloppy seconds. Not to mention, I kinda hate you.”

“Things are completely stale on that front if you really wanted to know. And even though we’re not friends, it seems you’re at least a little bit curious about me, as I have to say the same about myself for you. I just want to understand where your intentions came from.”

“Don’t mistake me asking you questions as genuine curiosity. I’m just trying to make conversation since there is nothing else to do around here,” she said crossing her arms. “My intentions? I guess they came from the explosion itself. I was in the heart of HYDRA territory with nothing else to lose. Either be tortured or join so I chose the obvious.”

“I’m sorry to hear that,” she apologized. “Seriously? Aren’t you dating my sister? I know we have the same face but we’re not the same. Same side? Really? Now let’s pretend for a minute I believe you--why would you jump ship?”

“Second wave? What is that?” Annabella asked highly confused. Was is a wave like in the ocean or the name of a bar or something? Mason had never mentioned a second wave to her. “I am sorry, but I cannot remember your face or how we met. Would you mind telling me what happened?”

That was strange to say the least. She knew it was Annabella she talked to, and more importantly she was so sure she was with SHIELD or the very least rogue. “There was another Inhuman wave and everyone’s powers were switched and there was trouble adjusting for a while. You hated your new ability just like everyone else.”

Annabella had finally convinced Mason that she was an adult woman that could go out, even though mentally she could only remember her childhood. All she wanted to do was go to the shop and then she would be home. She heard a stranger call her name and she paused for a second before turning around. When she was younger, she hated everyone except Mason. Did that change with age? How was she supposed to react to the person calling her name? “Umm…. I am sorry, but do I know you?” The girl stated very bluntly.

It was a good start. Her injuries had healed up pretty well thanks to the current phase of the moon and the restrictions she had placed on herself after the battle. All she wanted to do now was draw and forget about the rest until she was called upon to do something else. The meeting with Kyle still irked her, and the need to get out an do more pulled at her even further. Glancing up she saw the woman she met during the second wave, Annabella something. Calling out to her she wasn’t surprised when she said she didn’t know her or remember her. The question was why was she there. “Yeah, sort of we met once during the second wave.”

Theon crouched ready to pounce when the balls of light grew larger, he had to look away. He jumped out of the way when she threw it, knowing that her powers could be used for harm. He watched it go passed him and then wiped his head around with a snarl. You think I’m that dumb? He growled. He ran and jumped on her, taking her down. Why are you doing this? He barked, standing on top of her.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

That plan backfired, she hoped he would chase the light and that plan was a bust. So was plan B of temporary blinding him. Wht was she on now? F? Before she could dodge he was ontop of her barking, the light in her hand fading into nothingness. “Look, I’m just trying to get the hell out of here and I wouldn’t hurt children.” She yelled hoping he would get off of her. Any injureis she sustained she could easily heal, but for now she needed to at least make it out alive.

That’s exactly how Kyle viewed her. A selfish child that couldn’t see the consequenses her actions brought. “Maybe, but if this little act of you proves me anything it’s that you’ve always been jealous of her freedom. Being the favorite child brings repsonsibility, expectations. Something she never had to live up to. She’s twice the woman you’ll ever be.” he spat at her. 

He gritted his teeth at her sarcasm and when she grabbed his neck. The way they were holding each other’s gaze was intense, waiting for the first one to give in, for the first one to break. It would be so easy, to just teleport her somewhere. Clara had to never know. The temptation was almost too much for him. Especially when he spoke of his sister. He could drop he in the middle of nowhere so she could starve and wish she never made the comment about being sent to bed without dinner. But just as it looked like he was going to take her away from this place he was the one to break first and he let go off her, taking a step back.

“Like I said, I’ll leave you to Clara.” he said, even though it was one of the hardest decisions he had ever made. “She’ll find you and when she does I’ll be on the first row.” he stated.

She wondered how she looked to him. The once quiet artist who sat in her room drawing while ignoring the rest of the world for days on end; now is dirtied, covered in the ‘enemies’ blood and acting as if she has done nothing wrong. She couldn’t blame him for being shocked and disgusted, just like he couldn’t blame her for the contempt she has at their current situation as well as him for being her sister’s cheer guard. “Freedom? Okay, riiiight. Keep on preaching to me, but everything you’re saying is your own warped views of the situation. I’ll let you keep up with that, and your blatant idol worship of her.” She sighed shrugging her shoulders feeling exhausted. This conversation, the battle, the healing, the waning phases of the moon it was all taking a toll on her.

Her hand tightened slighly around his throat, she was ready for him to try to teleport he. She was so certain he wold and then he relented and she raised an eyebrow. That wasn’t expected… She thought he would give into his urges and teleport her to another side of the battlefield but he just gave up. Good enough for her. Letting go of his throat she allowed her arm to rest comfortably at her side once again. “You keep saying that, but what honestly makes you think I won’t kill her?” she asked taking a step back beginning to take her leave. “In your mind she wins, but what happens if I win. I destroyed her darkness once, I can easily do it again.”

Theon growled at girl. He had met her when he was having issues teleporting. He thought she was new to SHIELD or a rogue. Apparently she was Hydra. He ignored the lights from her hands, despite his stupid dog form wanting them. He knew her powers could be helpful or harm, so he stayed on guard. You didn’t seem that terrible the first time we met, so I’ll let it slide if you just leave. But since you’re Hydra, I’m not afraid to attack. He barked.

SHIELD didn’t seem like the type of organization that would bring in attack dogs. So she knew that wasn’t the case as she stared down the beast waiting for it to make it’s first move. An angry husky. Why did that sound familiar. Oh shit. She knew this dog. Using what power she had left she made the light in her hands glow brighter throwing one of them hoping he would run after it. If not she had another she could temporarily blind him with as she made her escape.
