While she was taking pictures, Gen held her hand out and her assistant knew exactly what the motion meant. When the new lens was put in her hand, she screwed it onto her camera and snapped a couple more. She walked around the woman, instructing her when and where to look. Wetting her lips, Gen was completely lost in the shots she took. Every second took the drama of her love life away from her and it was so needed that she felt like she could finally breathe again. “Do you know who your first scene is with?” Gen asked when she realized that she’d been too wrapped up to talk for a few minutes. She could at least focus on the beautiful woman in front of her. “I’ve been here for awhile so I pretty much know everyone. I could give you some tips.” Since her assistant had stepped back, Gen was okay with little at least one person see that she wasn’t such a total heinous bitch. 

There was something so incredibly attractive about seeing the petite woman command the entire room in such a way. Her every command and instruction followed immediately and without fail. Rory briefly wondered what the dominating photographer would be like in bed, if she maintained a tight grip on control even there. Though something told her that the raven-haired woman liked it when her partner took the power when it came to matters of the bedroom. Women like her, the ones who always were in complete and utter control of every aspect of their ever-so-busy lives, always did. Rory could be wrong, but she had enough experience to doubt that was the case. And then she scolded herself, because what the ever loving fuck?! She was now having inappropriate and unprofessional thoughts about her sort-of-boss. “Not yet. I just know it’s a sleeping beauty scene. I’m going to be asleep, and slowly woke up...” She said, scrunching up her nose. “But my partner is still a mystery. And still a toss-up between a guy or girl.” Her kind offer did brought out Rory’s thousand watt smile onto her face. “I would love some tips! Just between you and me,” Rory said in a hushed voice, looking around to make sure that she was not overheard before she stepped closer to Gen. “I’m kinda freaking out, so tips would be amazing. I could even repay your kindness, with a drink maybe? Or a bite-” Blue eyes traveled over Gen’s body, and Rory really hoped she was as sublte as she was trying to be. “-to eat.”

She was way too tired, and honestly, too angry, to keep any attitude out of her voice. Besides, it was late and the hour for pleasantries had passed. “Cool off?” Gen hissed, putting her hands on her hips. “You gave me space to– Are you fucking kidding me?” Gen could very clearly remember the way that Tom looked when she first saw him. Hell, she remembered what he looked at when they first went out together. But those super sexy eyes she could disappear into couldn’t stay off of his friend, and that most certainly couldn’t either. “I’m not trying to cool off, Tom. I walked in on you fucking Lexie. What part of that makes you think I’m just going to cool off and pretend it didn’t happen?”

“Why are you making such a big deal out of that? I bang chicks for a living, you know that. And Lex happens to be one of those girls. Plus she’s my best friend. Why are you so bent out of shape about this?” Tom asked exasperatedly. The entire situation was truly puzzling. Why did it matter if he had fucked Lexie? He fucked her on the regular. On and off the clock. But Genesis was his girlfriend and he liked her. “C’mon, babygirl. I miss you. You’ve tortured me enough.”

When Genesis went into work mode, there wasn’t much that pulled her out. She could be so wrapped up sometimes that people needed to know to just follow her cues and not ask questions. Her lips turned up at the corners when Rory complimented her name but she didn’t reply to it. As a kid, she used to hate her name because she had a lisp back then and was always called genethith. Focusing on the bow, Gen cinched it at the lithe woman’s waist and then reached up to play with the soft golden curls. “I definitely don’t mind,” her voice came out soft and friendly, and low enough that only the two could hear it. She set the woman’s hair forward. After considering it, she brushed the hair at Rory’s right shoulder back and then gently pulled the scoop neck down to show off her bare shoulder. “Stay right there,” she said as she picked up the camera and snapped a few shots from three different positions. “Can you do this very slowly?” Gen asked as she demonstrated a slow trail of nails down her neck. “Slow, slow,” she mumbled from behind the camera, taking more pictures. “Good. Very good.” Gen didn’t want to admit it but as she looked in the lens, her breath caught. God she was gorgeous. Wetting her lips, Gen continued taking pictures, giving direction as she did. “Trail your fingers down the opening of your robe… slow… just like that. Oh, that’s perfect..” Her stomach twisted into knots and she swallowed. “Okay, let’s get a few shots of you untying the sash. One hand.” Every word she spoke led her deeper into this feeling. “Do you have any idea how sexy you are, candy girl?”

Why did Genesis voice suddenly sound like an intimate whisper, meant for her ears only. It also made her feel strangely hot, which was a bit ridiculous considering she was wearing a white lace bra, with a tiny bow between the delicate sheer cups, matching panties, and just a silk robe over it. The AC was cranked up -probably so that the heat of the lights didn’t become overwhelming- so really there was no reason why Rory was suddenly a bit flushed; or wanting to lean into the soft touch as the petite woman combed delicate fingers through her blonde hair. “Good,” God, did that came out as squeaky as she thought it did? She hoped not. But the way Genesis exposed her shoulder by tugging on the robe caught her a bit off guard. Still, she managed to do exactly as told. Following the woman’s every direction (even if she hadn’t been the photographer, Rory still would have complied with anything those tinted lips told her to do). She was so passionate, and commanded attention so effortlessly. At first the blonde had been confused as to how someone so beautiful was behind the camera when she clearly belonged in front of it. To be captured in time, preserved for others to catch a glimpse of what beauty truly meant, but then she saw Genesis work, and Rory understood. She was almost hypnotized, following every command, momentarily forgetting about the countless others in the room as she focused on only Genesis voice. Like a sailor at sea lured by a siren’s call. Her fingertips brushed against her own skin as she trailed her fingers along the opening of the silk robe just as she had been instructed, drawing out the moment as she gazed directly into the camera before casting blue eyes downward and allowing a shy smile to play on her lips while a gentle blush tinted her cheeks. “I’m just following instructions.” She claimed while slowly, provocatively, untying the sash of her robe and let it part open enough to catch a glimpse of her attire underneath.

Genesis couldn’t sleep. Huge shocked here. She sat on the couch with her legs pulled up to her chest as she flipped through the channels in the middle of the night. It was already three o’clock and every second that passed told her there was less and less of a chance that she was going to actually get any kind of sleep before the sun came up. She picked up her wine glass and had only a sip before it was empty. Frowning, the girl groaned as she climbed off the couch in her plaid pajama pants and tank top, and walked to the kitchen. The empty bottle was on the counter, which she scowled at as if it was the wine’s fault for being empty. While considering whether she should open a second bottle, the knock on the door made her jump. Who would be looking for her this late-slash-early? Then she heard his voice and froze. But that icy exterior melted into a raging heat and she rushed to the door and tugged it open. “What the hell are you doing here, Tom?”

While others would have been intimidated being greeted in such a way, Tom was well used to dealing with Genesis’ angry outbursts- coincidently enough, most of them were directed at him. And while being on the receiving end of the young woman’s icy stare could be unnerving, the man had come to learn one thing throughout their relationship. Genesis was cold as ice, but in the right hands she melted. “What do you think I’m doing here, Gen?” He asked, clearly unfazed by the tension on her face and animosity she exuded. “We need to talk,” he leaned against the door frame, crossing his muscled arms over his equally impressive chest. “This has been going long enough, I gave you your space to cool off, but it’s getting ridiculous.” Okay, maybe he felt the slightest twinge of remorse as he took one look at the dark shadows under her eyes, the exhaustion on her face that told a story of long nights were sleep didn’t come easy. And the way that even though she was clearly pissed off, and doing her best to hide it, she was also sad.

Okay, it was getting ridiculous. Tom had given Genesis plenty of time to cool off, but the stubborn woman was still ghosting him, and avoiding him like he had the clap at work. It was three a.m. and the curly haired male had had enough. If she refused to see sense, then he would just have to fuck some into her. One earth-shattering orgasm would have her getting over her little tantrum, and him back in her good graces. Or at least that’s what he thought as he made his way to her place, and knocked on her door. “Gen, open up.”

There was something insanely comforting about Rory being new to the company. She looked innocent - and while, yes, that included in the ‘touched for the very first time’ was - but also in the ‘new to this world so I still don’t call you a raging bitch behind your back’ way. Sometimes Genesis wondered if she was a little too hard. When she and he-who-shall-not-be-named first got together, people actually started to think all she’d needed was a good banging in her life. She had been, dare it be said, nicer. But in Gen’s defense, that had only lasted a couple days before she was back to herself. Hearing the blonde talk should have annoyed Gen, who was always used to everyone simply doing what she said and taking her direction. This girl was endearing in a way that Gen couldn’t fully put her finger on. “Let me guess, you’re a little nervous,” she said as she reached her hand out to coax the other into the light. “Don’t be. This is the easy part, you just have to stand here and look beautiful, both of which you have down very well.” Once Rory had walked over to her, Gen let her camera hang from the strap around her neck and moved her meticulously to get the best lighting. “I actually think that might be a good idea. Since we’re getting amped up for your big debut, watching you start to undress from a robe would get all the boys and girls tingly.” Her eyes trailed along the woman’s clothed body and even found herself curious about what was underneath the flimsy fabric. “It’s Genesis, by the way.” She spoke quietly as she worked on retying Rory’s robe into a neat bow. “She-beast is just my alias.”

Rory almost denied the very accurate observation but ended up giving a small nod instead. And for some reason, she found herself following the raven-haired woman’s direction, moving to where she wanted her. And she most absolutely refused to blush at the compliment, because that would be completely unprofessional and just ridiculous. And if the tips of her ears felt kind of warm after being called beautiful by the woman, well that was probably just the lights. “Wait, really?” surprise laced her voice at her idea being considered good. She had not been expecting that. And the photographer took advantage of Rory’s momentary shock because the blonde found herself being physically directed into position. The blonde was still trying to wrap her mind around the whole getting boys and girls tingly part to put any resistance. And then she was given a name, and oh, that was an unusual but “beautiful name,”... It took Rory a second to realize she had said that part out loud, and blue eyes widened slightly. But before she could die of embarrassment right there and there, the woman made a little quip about her alias that had amusement sparkling in her eyes before a soft laugh escaped her twitching lips. “Yeah, well I think I’ll stick with Genesis if you don’t mind.” She teased, the woman’s smile drawing some of the tension that had been weighing down her shoulders.

A dark, perfectly sculpted brow lofted at the incredulous sound in the blonde’s voice. Genesis was used to it though. It was easy to underestimate someone who looked like a Cabbage Patch Doll. Hell, most of the men in the business used to mistake her for one of the actors. They probably still would be making sexist comments if she hadn’t learned how to assert herself. Now she didn’t take shit from anyone and for as ugly as the nickname she-beast was, it told her that people both feared and respected her. When her assistant came back, Genesis simply held her hand out and let the girl put the drink in it, not once did she take her eyes off of the beautiful woman before her. She took a sip from the cup and then set it down, making a mental note to never go back to it for the sole purpose of annoying the gossiper. A soft smile crossed her lips at the other’s stuttering. “Cute,” she nodded. “Well, let’s see if we can’t tickle the fan’s sweet tooth, candy girl.” Business, she reminded herself. Genesis walked over to the set. “We’re going to start over here first. I assume you’re not going to wear that robe.”

Could one develop a kink from thin air? Because when the photographer arched an eyebrow, Rory was suddenly finding eyebrows attractive. More specifically, the thing the woman did with hers as she looked at Rory. What the fuck? Then whatever doubts there might have lingered about the woman being someone in charge, completely disappeared when she witnessed the little exchange between the photographer and whom the blonde assumed was her assistant. The poor girl looked like she was a mean look away from whimpering. But Rory was confused of why everyone feared the woman, she didn’t look scary. Maybe a little intimidating, in a sweet baby jesus, how are you even real?! sort of way, but not worthy of such mean nickname. No seriously, how could anyone call this woman a she-beast with a smile like that? “Oh, right.” She said, reminded of her earlier predicament as she fidgeted with the sash of the robe. “I mean, I could try it out. Reach all those with a silk robe kink? There might be an untapped market there.” She said hopefully, even though knowing full well there was no such thing.

Gen could do this, she decided when she felt the comfort swarm around her when it came to getting down to business. She didn’t become the go-to photographer by letting her personal life get in the way and she wasn’t going to stay on the top of the pyramid if she let it happen now so fuck Tom and his dick too. When the gossiper came back with her coffee, Gen was almost upset that the girl actually got her order correct. But, in typical Gen fashion, she decided to make the other pay for her flapping mouth. “I don’t remember asking for an iced coffee. Get one that’s actually hot this time. You think you can handle that?” Shooing her off, Genesis busied herself switching out lenses on her camera until a long legged blonde stumbled in front of her and commented a nickname that only a newbie would dare utter in her presence. “You’re looking right at her, sugar. I must have left my devil horns in my other jeans.” Dark eyes trailed shamelessly up the length of the taller woman. She could immediately see the appeal. Lately most of the stars that came through those doors had big tits and looked like they spent the last six years with a dick in their mouth, or other parts that should go unmentioned. But this girl was different and that immediately made Gen start to relax. “Are you Aurora Abernathy?”

Blue eyes widened slightly and pink lips parted in surprise at the answer she got. And if the way dark eyes roaming over her frame so blatantly had Rory feeling some type of way, the blonde ignored it. “You?” She asked, disbelief lacing her voice before a skeptical expression crossed her face. “Are you messin’ with me?” She asked with a little grin tugging on her lips, clearly not believing the girl in front of her was the force to be reckoned with everyone seemed to be so afraid of. But despite her height -Rory really had to emphasize that because the raven-haired beauty was tiny- she carried herself with a confidence that only someone who was a big deal would. Then she went and said  her name (her full name mind you, making the blonde wince at that) and Rory was left blinking mutely for a second. “Oh, my god! I’m so sorry,” she rushed to apologize. “I didn’t mean to- I mean, they just said that the sh... I mean, you’re definitely not what I was expecting.” Blowing out a breath, she pinched the bridge of her nose. “Yes, that’s me. I go by Rory though.. But I think that from now on it’ll be ‘Candy Barr’.” She couldn’t help the roll of her eyes, because seriously? That name was ridiculous. But at least it wasn’t Connie Lingus.

Genesis shot a pointed glare at one of the assistants who was talking to a few of the staff over the snack table about her break up. They hadn’t noticed she was there but the second they did, their faces turned white and red. “This isn’t school. You’re not being paid to gossip,” she snapped at them. It was better, in her opinion, to let everything think she and Tom broke up because she was a massive bitch than the truth about catching him wearing one of his best friends like a hat. “You,” she pointed at the one who had been talking, “get my coffee before I send you back to the McDonald’s drive thru window you were picked up at. The rest of you, back to work.” Knowing they were probably bitching about her, Genesis put everything aside to get back to work. Here she could focus and today was very important. She was shooting promotional shots to build the excitement before the debut of the production company’s newest star. If she let her breakup get to her it could effect someone’s career so she shook it off and picked up the camera one of the assistant’s brought to her. “Someone get my playlist going.. and for God sake, get the star out here before we lose this light.”

The blonde girl stood in front of the full-length mirror as she clutched the silk robe more tightly around herself. She was scheduled for some promotional pictures and yet she couldn’t make herself leave the dressing room. Her hands trembled slightly and she briefly wondered if she was on the verge of having a panic attack, because it felt like the room was closing in on herself and what the fuck had made her think she could do this? Joining the ‘prestigious’ production company had seemed like a great idea to the girl who had been struggling to make ends meet, and had been offered enough money to make four of her paychecks put together seem like a joke. And it’s not like she was a blushing virgin, but now that she was supposed to go out there and pose for some pictures she was second guessing her decision. She could only imagine how she would feel when she had to do an actual scene. Oh, my god, she balked at the thought. She would just have to go out there and thank them for their generous offer and opportunity but politely decline. Yeah, she could do that. That’s exactly what she was going to do as she turned with a determined little nod and opened her door only to be fetched by one of the girls from the staff. “Oh hey, I was just,” Rory then found herself rudely interrupted and ushered towards the studio. “You’re late and she is asking for you. She’s in one of her moods, so good luck. Try not to anger the she-beast.” Rory could only blink, confused as to what was happening before she was pushed, without any gentleness whatsoever, in front of a woman with a camera. She couldn’t help but notice just how beautiful the woman was, before Rory shook herself of her little stupor and looked around, slowly approaching the vision of a woman. “Hey,” she whispered, looking around so as to not be overheard. “Do you know where the ‘she-beast’ is at?” She asked, fingers doing the air quotes and all.
