WHO DO I TAKE INSPIRATION FROM FOR THE QUOTES?
Charles Xavier/Professor X- in the comics he was a bit of a creep... and he was pretty abusive at times... so I try to stick mainly to the movies for his character. I love the idea of him just adopting all of these lost mutants and becoming a father figure. Pretty much what I’m saying is that I use James McAvoy’s version of Charles in X-Men: First Class, though I try to draw inspiration from other pieces of media like the original X-Men movies, X-Men tv shows like Evolution, and the rare comic where he was a decent human being.
Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto- he’s pretty consistent throughout many pieces of media. Just a father that wants to destroy humanity to make a better world for his kids :) jk he is a war criminal and we love him for it, but we can’t excuse murder. I use primarily the movies and the comics for his character in quotes.
Jean Grey/Phoenix- if I’m gonna be honest my favorite versions of Jean are the one in X-Men: Evolution and Giant Size X-Men so I use those for her. No movie Jean here.
Ororo Munroe/Storm- she had the most character in the comics. A lot of media has white washed her or just tossed her aside. Because of that, I use comics for Storm.
Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch- some comics, also some WandaVision. Ok, I lied, a lot of WandaVision. Sue me. It’s my favorite tv show.
Pietro Maximoff/Quicksilver- I use the comics and the movies for him! Evan Peters did a great job, but I love his comic character too. He struggled with evil a lot more in the comics than he did in the movies. I meld the two together for the quotes. I do not use WandaVision for HIS character—only Wanda’s.
Scott Summers/Cyclops- in most media I have seen, he’s kind of misogynistic... but strangely enough I have not read a lot of Cyclops comics. I try to use what I know of comic Cyclops and put it together with the movies? Ish? But I don’t want to have a fully misogynistic Cyclops so I take very little inspiration from the movies
Logan/Wolverine- X-Men: Evolution. Purely X-Men: Evolution. But you can imagine him as Hugh Jackman if you want
X-23/Laura Kinney- she came from X-Men: Evolution and I have not read her comics yet so... oops. I’ll get to that later this summer.
Hank McCoy/Beast- comic Beast was peak comedy and that’s what we have here fellas
Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat- X-Men: Evolution and the comics for her. I adore her. She’s so brilliant and cute and fun!
Kurt Wagner/Nightcrawler- I piece together bits of all media for him because he stays pretty consistent throughout everything
Jubilation Lee/Jubilee- comics and comics alone here
Bobby Drake/Iceman- comics and that one scene in the movies where he came out to his parents because that gave me life
Rogue/Rogue- I love and adore her in the comics, but I also love and adore the goth Rogue that we got in X-Men: Evolution so I use both to draw inspiration for her
Raven Darkholme/Mystique- I have a huge crush on Jennifer Lawrence so I usually picture Jennifer Lawrence but I draw I aspiration from Rebecca Romjin’s portrayal, the comics, tv shows and pretty much everything else
Remy Lebeau/Gambit- comics only
Dani Moonstar/Mirage- I only know her from the comics (same with the other new mutants) so that’s where she’s from
Reminder: submissions are open and you do not need to use these guidelines to submit quotes. You can submit anything! I am always open. If you want me to do some quotes with a certain character, just request!
Anyway I thought I’d let you know who is who and where I get my inspiration for the quotes from. Let me know what you think (and if there is any more media you’d like to recommend to me!!)
