Reblog if it’s okay to start talking to you and skip the awkwardness
Ari stood up to sit on the couch next to him when he moved away from her. She was making very obvious and the god ignored her the same way he ignored her in Delos. Her eyes lit up upon hearing that the fair maiden Artemis found a man. The last time Artemis was smitten over someone was the mortal Orion whom the goddess of the hunt herself killed tragically due to her trickster brother. She covered herself a little with the blanket and was actually happy he didn’t try to put clothes on her. Hers were kept on a small heap on the floor near the door. “That doesn’t making you jealous, does it Nox? Artemis and you…there’s nothing between you two, right?” She was fishing for answers as well as confirmation. Nothing but business was between the two gods. She nodded quickly to affirm her reason for visiting them. “Nothing really. I mean, maybe I could get close to Dionysus again and you know….” she swiped her hand across her neck to indicate her act of killing the immortal. “I also wanted to see you. Is that alright?” She was laying on it thick, the woman knew no bounds when it came to something, or in this case someone, she wanted.
He scoffed a little at the question. She asked that question many times before. And even though there was some denial in what he said and what he had in mind, but his answer never changed. “ No, Ari.. I have told you there is nothing between us. Artemis doesn’t see me that way” he said, sighing at the last sentence.
At her confession he looked at her, “ Dionysus? You are back to him again?” he asked before answering her other question. “ I have no right of telling you what to do, so you can just do whatever you want Ari”

She caught her breath, and breathed in his calming scent when he turned towards her, with her face buried against his solid chest. Harlow was beginning to notice the little inflections in his tone of voice when speaking about her Huntsman. He was not her Huntsman anymore, she sadly admitted to herself. He never was hers. Noctis knew what to say, giving her advice about human and gods. He hoped he was different, but for the moment she needed to focus on their mission. She wiped her tears and looked up at the tall god. “We should go to Venice already. We can follow the lead of the woman who has possession of Apollo’s amulet.” Artemis hugged her wolf tighter and smiled, thankful for the friendship he reciprocated. “Thank you Noctis, for always being here for me.”
.He nodded and it wasn’t nothing but a sincere thought of him. Noctis have began seeing her more than someone he had to protect, but also caring for her since he really cared. But the definition itself about his feelings, the God still had no idea of what it was. ” You don’t have to mention it Harlow” he said and looked up at the time.
“Go get your coat and I’ll meet you down stairs okay?” he caressed her shoulder before walking out the room first.
Alter Ego / AU /
His the type of guy she mostly avoids, and she doesn’t even know why. Having him this close to her makes her uneasy, strange yes. She was tough, she doesn’t cower to anyone even the teacher’s respect her for the strong facade she shows. In order to run the entire school population, she needs to be brave. Him leaning a bit closer to her makes her want to kick his guts out. She step backwards to distance herself from him. “Why, aren’t you a bit conceited in there Usui Takumi? Not all girls would swoon over you, keep that in mind.” Her eyes squinted at his next words, she was instantly fired up. “You making the girls cry… “ She paused and counted the girls who cried over him in just a week and only give up when she knew itwas way more than her fingers could count. “…. is my business. I am here to ensure that females are protected at this school.” Misaki raised her brows, glaring at him. She catch the last word and she was a bit taken aback since she often use it at her work but she tried her best to appear non-nonchalant about it. It couldn’t be he saw her anyways. “And why would I want your attention? I don’t need it.”
Again with the angry face and tone of voice, the school president went on and on about the twisted accusations towards him. “Think about it madam president. How is it really my fault? If the girls leave me alone, I wouldn’t have to speak to them, they wouldn’t be giving me gifts and parading around the school as if I owe them any acknowledgement of their feelings. If they left me alone and ignored me, I wouldn’t have to disregard their confessions, I wouldn’t have to speak back to them and cause their feelings to be hurt because the women of this school doesn’t understand that not everything can go their way; and they need to realize that one cannot and should not force the hand and heart of another.” His tone of voice escalated as his rant concluded. Stressing the point clearer to the biased president. His eyebrows furrowed, concerned at the mindset of the leader of the school. One should not be biased towards another gender and lay blame so swiftly. She quickly berated him with accusations solely because the girl was crying. “Case in point. And I don’t need nor want yours or their attention, yet I still get it. Don’t I? Heol. I should have been president of this school, at least I would have been fair.” Sarcasm oozed out of his voice as he straightened up with his arms across his chest. Usui Takumi was usually a calm man, gentle in action and words, but he had enough unwanted attention and the mere fact she was falsely accusing him of being at fault of the crying girls of the school angered him to the extreme.
Finding a calm focus once again, he tilted his head and smiled back at her. “By the way, is it a job or a hobby? I’ll see you soon.” He left with those words and slung his bag over his shoulder as he whistled off.
He was so classically handsome, his god form and his chosen vessel, gorgeous beyond reason and she felt her heart skip a beat when he looked at her with playful eyes. She took the opportunity to lean closer to him, moving seductively on the lush bedding and answered his questions honestly. “I knew it, still holding her V card tightly. How does she not find you attractive?” Ari huffed and puffed up her cheeks while thinking about the goddess who was missing out on pleasure. She’s got a sexy god laying in bed with her day in and day out and she’s oblivious. “She’s so boring, Nox. Why do you stick with her? Isn’t it like dealing with an android, no emotions and all hunt and hunt some more and talk to animals and smell the trees?” She was poking fun at Artemis’ domain over the hunt, the wild and the animals. “That was part of why I was here. I actually want to help you find Apollo. For real.” Ari tried to look at him straight in the eyes to show him she was serious but she found it to be difficult to stare at the god for too long. “Oh gosh, the things I would do to you right now, Noctis Lycaon.”
He shrugged his shoulder to answer her. It was an understatement if he was not affected by her seduction. His eyes were stuck on those clear bue eyes and plushy lips. But Noctis was also known by his own strong-will. He promised Zeus to protect his Daugther, and also her choice of chastity. " Well she found another boring person to be her protector, I guess we are quite settled with that Ari" he said, raising his thick brow again. Her reason got his brows furrowed in question. " For real?" Noctis repeated. "What is in it for you?" he asked, curious about the real reason behind it. And while she was distracted, Noctis heard what she said even though he chose to ignore it. "Did you come with your own will?"

A small pout appeared on Harlow’s lips, she really wanted to see him in his boxers. Nudity and anything close to it weren’t a big deal to immortals Grecians so long as there was no malice to it. She looked at Noctis and appreciated his heavenly form more so than other immortal and mortal men. And at the same time she was fully aware of the slight elevation of her heart rate when she did see him in his nakedness. She was always able to quench it by thinking of him as her fluffy wolf. Zeus’ promise to keep his daughter free from such thoughts was wearing thin. He knew it when Artemis turned of age. But Zeus’ daughter was strong and only until she arrived to Seoul was her will tested.
The thoughts of Noctis in his dinosaur briefs were sidelined when she heard the irritation in the god’s tone of voice. “Actually…I don’t know. He and I had a fight, I tried to forget about it and think of the happier moments with him before we left the bath.” She sighed a little then ran to him with tears welling in her eyes. She hugged him from behind and wiped her tears on the back of his shirt not caring the discomfort of soaked tears could be. “He told me I was like this other woman who tried to change him. I was also very selfish and didn’t know anything about him and only looked at him at face value, never actually knowing him. He was wrong and right, but I didn’t have the energy to explain…I lost a friend, Noctis.”
They way the Goddess spoke in sadness irritated The prince of Darkness. He hated the fact that a mere human made her cry like that. If Harlow didn't see him as a friend, Noctis would already flee to make sure that guy won't ever make her sad again. But he didn't do or say anything besides in his own mind.
He let Harlow lean on him, he preferred that way anyway. "You can always make a new friend Harlow" he said as he turned, offering her his chest instead. "Those humans aren't like us, you know it's hard for us to understand them as he also probably had a hard time to understand us too.”

The few items she’d been carrying — two small books, her wallet, and her keyring, are shifted to one hand as she presses her finger to the identification scan, then leaning forward to do the same with her eye. then, she unlocks the door with her key, and they both are finally allowed entry. the security precautions are many, but all necessary, as learned with previous mishaps. she nods her head at his words, for she knows their jobs can’t be entirely the same. the she - wolf gives a short and soft chuckle, ❝ i don’t think i’m like most people, either. ❞ his promise catches her attention, though he’d had it before, and the dark - haired woman’s eyes widen a little when he notes that she has a secret. indeed, she has many secrets, and her eyes briefly look at her sharp fingernails, painted red, before she hums faintly. she’d been catching a faint scent in the air, one that was all too familiar, but she’d been ignoring it, not as keen as her brother when it comes to scouting out others of the same or similar species, when not her main priority. ❝ i’ll admit, i have a few aces up my sleeve. some of which might surprise you quite a bit. ❞ leeyeon sets her items on her desk and straightens out a stack of papers toward the end of it, filing them away before she gestures toward the variety of furniture in her office. ❝ well, noctis, we have much to discuss, don’t we ? ❞
His name, Lycaon, did not seem to ring any bell, it was something Noctis would need to explain to her later on if the two decide to team up in the near future. Noctis observed the multiple security measures, taking note of the finger print ID and retina scan, including the key entry. He was told at PSS how cases such as what she focused on were held under lock and key, but he thought it was exaggerated some. Inside were file cabinets like any other office. A single entry through the door and a possible one through the window. He would attempt to look closer if a fire escape was present or not. He found a seat facing the window and her, beginning to state the information he promised her at the start of their impromptu meeting. “I’ll get straight to the point.” Nox leaned back on the chair and crossed his legs as he told the story of Apollo and Zeus. “About three months ago, a god made a greater god angry. The lesser god fled from home determined to begin a war. In order to come even close to winning a war, one needed an army. And so, he set out to create one. Here.” Placing his elbows to his knees and chin over his clasped hands he stared back at the she-wolf. His eyes flashed from dark brown to blue then back to again. Clearly she could sense someone of similar genetic composition. “Can you guess how the god is creating his army?”
Night Stroll
Once spotting that the dog was about to transform, her breath hitched while clutching to the medical equipment as she braced herself. A sigh of relief heaved from her chest once seeing the same familiar face from their many encounters. Flashing a small smile in his direction, her dark orbs avert over to the petri dishes aligned in the small fridge upon the table. “It’s confidential information! I can’t tell you!”
She was only half kidding though. The playful demeanor still remaining in her voice whenever with him. Sure, the information was strictly prohibited from being shared to outsiders, but she knew that she could trust him. What was he going to do with the information anyways? “I’m just preparing slides so I can look at them later and identify what kind of bacteria it is. There’s a kid that had his arm severely damaged and he didn’t see a doctor soon enough so there’s a bad accommodation of bacteria. We’re trying to figure out why the macrophages didn’t start eating the bacteria up.”
Once securing the fridge with a code, she starts to peel off the gloves and take off her goggles. It was time to call it quits for the night. “You came right on time. I’m all done now. What’s up? Why’re you here? Missed me?” She gave him a small nudge to his arm before stripping off her lab coat to hang on the hooks along the wall.
He scoffed when she sealed him off from telling. "Yah, you know I have a bigger mission for you and your race too you know" he said. "And I am not telling" he said with the same manner. The way he was acting was not to offend her, but because they were close enough just to start bickering about small things like that. She was the first human he ever befriend, and the first human who knew about his form and who he really was.
But upon hearing what it was for, the God frowned. "Ah if only I could help, I know a way or two to help the kid. But I don't think it will help much with your research if I heal the kid easily," he said and jumped off the counter. " I am not allowed to do things that are not part of my mission anyway." He sighed and leaned closer to the glass where she put those little things from the human called Bacteria. " Yah you little thing, help her out okay" he said in an ordering tone.
Standing up straight he raised his thick eyebrow at the question. "Missed you? hmmm," he drifted away from her and shrugged, not admitting it. Their friendship was platonic but Nox always found comfort whenever she was around, so he liked to hang out with her. " Well, I was kind of missing drinking beer and eat chicken with you, what about we have a round of it?"
The Exchange
She had noticed the change in his face when she mentioned her marriage and it even seemed a little droll to her. It wasn’t the change of his expression but more the thought that crossed her mind. Was he interested in me? She chuckled faintly to herself, shaking her head lightly.
Her joyful mood didn’t last long: his questions made he heart squeeze a little. It’s been five years since Kangjoon’s death but the loss was still tangible to her, she hadn’t loved anyone as she loved him and hadn’t been in any romantic relationships ever since the accident. “No…my husband is not at work and not coming home.” Her reply was short, it was still hard to talk about it for her. Her throat got stiff, she wasn’t going to cry - she cried too much about it but he was the closes person to her and his words made her think of the wonderful life she had in the past when her husband was still coming back home from work and she was greeting him with dinner or just with a warm hug. She gulped, preparing herself for saying the words that were hurting her so much. “My husband died five years ago.” she opened the door letting him come in first. “So don’t worry, nobody will bother you in the bathroom.” She pointed and the door to the right from the hall, “It’s there.”
Noctis deduced her husband had either left her due to a seducer or fell ill leaving her a widower. The beautiful woman who at first impressions seemed to have a kind, trusting soul would have been a catch to any human male. He didn’t want to pry, possibly resulting in a potential embarrassing or awkward revelation, so Noctis nodded gently, showing concern in his eyes as she spoke. With her own words she confirmed his second assumption, death. She was indeed a widower and Noctis felt a tug at his own heart for asking such a personal question to a stranger. With hesitancy, the god bowed respectively showing sympathy in his eyes. Not saying much as he entered the hallway to the go to the loo. “ Thank you, I’ll only be a minute.”
He did his business, hand on his chin contemplating his next move. Why was he in the bathroom of a human stranger? What was the reason for him to follow her? Was it really for gathering information, information which she very highly did not have? He knew the reason, he knew the answers to the questions he posed. The path leading him to the beauty’s bathroom was instinctual. He was attracted to her physically and it led him to the very spot. A slight chuckle escaped the wolf shifter’s lips. He began to understand Artemis now. In her human vessel it was normal for feelings to arise which were out of their control. They busied themselves in Olympus with game and competition, here there was so much time for their hands to be idle and so the mind wandered. It wandered towards the attention of the pretty woman, with the kind smile, and the obvious trustworthy personality. Washing his hands, Nox let out a deep breath and figured out what his next plan. He’s here, in her home, might as well take advantage of the situation and get to know her without coming off as a creeper.. He left the bathroom and spotted her down the hall. "I am not keeping you from anything am i? Would it be alright if I asked you to share with me some of your pottery?"
She knew he was being friendly, as it was the wolf’s nature to be that way. But she couldn’t help smile happily hearing him compliment her after years of being apart. Despite the events that took place, she always cared for the god of night, often enjoying her time bathing in the dark thinking of him. Without any more thought, she pulled Noctis into bed with her, pushing him with all her might so he was laying down with her. “I heard you two were on a mission…” She paused for a second then continued. “So tell me the truth, is our dearest Artemis still a virgin?” She hoped he didn’t have anything to do with it if she wasn’t.
Some part of him was already expecting that would happen. These goddesses were always like that anyway. They always try hard to get what they want. It was their nature. He looked calm, letting the Goddess of breeze pull him to be next to her. Nox, slowly turned his head to look at those blue eyes. " Hmm, you know she is pretty persistent to keep it that way," he said, vaguely saying the answer though he knew she would pick it up quickly. "Is that why you’re here? because you want to know if she is still a virgin?"

Shopping? Something she definitely enjoyed since living in the human realm. She shook happily while sitting on Noctis’ lap. “I like that idea. Oh, mmm, I’ll check the weather in Venice. If it’s cold like it is here, I am going to wear my knee length wool parka with sexy undergarments underneath.” She took his words literally. And Artemis learned a thing or two from Aphrodite, even though they didn’t get along much. A woman in lingerie is like her best friend sometimes. “Are you going to wear a coat with only those boxer briefs with the cute dinosaurs on it?”
She scooted off his lap and wrapped one arm around him while she laced her fingers with his, playing with them some. “Mmm, nothing much. I went fishing with an actor friend who kind of resembles you. And I bathed with Jongsuk in our tub. I added three crystal bath balls and it created a huge amount of bubbles.” She was so happy at the volume of bubbles created. The jar directed only one ball, but she got excited.
To say if he was affected by what she said...There was no clear way to explain it. The way they always were around each other, in any form and any condition Nox have learned to suppress his own feelings and his own needs whenever Harlow tempted him, even without her realizing it. "No, I told you that I will not wear that again"
He raised his thick brow, the curiosity grew more. "Oh so you are still seeing that Huntsman?" he said in a more bothered tone while looking away. For a reason there was this funny feeling he had been feeling, but it was very uncomfortable. It was something he never felt before. But it always appeared every time this Huntsman of hers was involved.
Leave it for the goddess of the hunt to be such a buzz kill. “Nox, you haven’t changed. You’re still so handsome even in your vessel?” She rolled on his bed and stared back at him with cat-like eyes. “When will she back? Care to join me until she returns?”
He walked closer with arms crossed and tilting head. " You too Aura" he replied back the compliment to the beautiful Godess. At the mention of Harlow, he perked up and tried to located where his own Goddess. "Well She is still in the office. and who knows, you know her... she come an go as she like, just like someone here" he said and looked at her with his last sentence. The protector of Artemis walked closer to the bed and sat down on the edge of it while giving her his back. "Why are you here Ari?"
The goddess sneaked her way into their home and laid on the bed filled with the wolf’s scent. It was mixed with the queen of the hunt’s fragrance as well and it annoyed her. “The two must sleep on the same bed still. How annoying.”
Nox came back home early, he was trying to track down Harlow when he realized someone has intrude their lair. Having a good senses, he was just glad as he recognized the scent, her scent. He followed it and pushed the door to his room to find the woman on his bed.
"Ari.. You know Harlow won't like it if you stay there" he said, already knowing the reason of her being there.
Harlow's eyes fluttered open as Noctis' distinct scent filled her lungs. The wolf smelled of evergreens, fresh and crisp and safe. The goddess' sanctuary had always been the woods, finding the reason of her existence among the animals and the wilderness. Her thoughts wandered to Olympus and their island, Delos. "Noctis? I miss our home..." She snuggled closer to him until her heavy lids closed and her breathing matched his.
Being next to her was the one that kept him feeling at ease. He knew they had to finish their mission so that they could go back to their home, in Delos. He looked out the window where the city light colored the night. He would rather to see the stars, than this. But then he realized the one that making him not feeling the longing feelings of their home was her. He was just glad that she was with him. It would be a lot harder if he was sent here alone. “Then let’s finish this mission so we can go back home soon”

Red lips purse slightly, and she gives a businesslike nod as she begins to walk. her paced steps have the click of her heels echoing in the back of her mind as she wonders about this mysterious man who’d asked for her. it seems like she’s struck gold, almost, for no one ever approaches her about demons. the little devils are always so slick, the only ones who see them usually die right after. there’s no time for them to recruit her, and there’s nothing that can be done about their death. but someone who has seen them, and seems to know a fair amount about them — leeyeon briefly wonders if he is a hunter. ❝ similar field ? i’m intrigued, truthfully. ❞ the wolf shifter pauses for a moment, ❝ as i’m sure you know, most that see demons don’t live very long to see much else. ❞ her head lifts to survey the area, and with a turn on another few blocks, they’d be near her second office. the first is at headquarters, but she can’t bring anyone there without a written permit from her superiors.
❝ you said your name is noctis, is that correct ? forgive me, it’s a lot processing information, i’ve been taught to do it extremely quickly. ❞
He knew the woman was analyzing her thoughts quietly. A strange man who seemed to be well-versed in demon lore approaching her in the late afternoon of a busy street in Seoul and asking to meet privately...strange indeed. "Somewhat similar field, I should say instead." A faint smile appeared on his lips. If things go well with their meeting, Zeus would most likely approve of their continued search in the city, and not pull Artemis and him out of their search prematurely. "I am not like most people, m'lady." He left it at that before they approached the building housing her office. "I most likely won't scare you with what I've seen, what I've experienced. However, I am more worried when I reveal to you what I am. Though, again, I promise you, I am not a threat. I am on your side, most of the time. Of course, it seems you have a little secret of your own..." He nodded introducing himself using his Greek name, getting ready for the next set of inquiries such as why the Greek name when clearly he looked Korean. "Yes, Noctis Lycaon."
