My grandma's hands, though wrinkled, shriveled, and weak, were the tools she used all of her life to reach out and grab and embrace life. Her left hand showed the world that she was married and loved someone special--my grandpa. Her hands were strong yet gentle, and they were always busy. It was her loving hands that held me for the first time on Christmas Eve when I weighed only a pound. She had six children, eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. These hands were the first to reach out and hug someone. They were the hands that lifted me up, wiped my tears, turned the pages of the books she read to me, cooked many a meal for me lovingly, and that taught me how to fold my hands in prayer. Her hands were an every day part of my life. Now my grandma's hands can rest, knowing that they have done their best. She will forever hold my hand and my heart, and I know today she was stroked, caressed, and held by the hands of God when He led her home. 💛

It’s kinda cool how someone can just pop into your life all of a sudden and become so important to you within such a small amount of time. I think that’s what makes life so interesting though. There’s always a reason to be hopeful for the future because you never know what good things will come your way next.
