It has been literal years but every time I see Martin’s tweets posted somewhere and his word is shared as truth while her post is not shared it sort of reiterates the fact that we trust men to speak about feminism more than we believe women who experience it.
Reading her account of how their boss treated her blows me away. Men are so emboldened that they will literally admit to illegal discrimination casually and face no consequences.

Mulling over how MLB botched the power balancing of the Cat and Ladybug since they're supposed to be equal - the box is in the yin and yang symbol - and it led me to thinking about the differences between the base concepts of creation and destruction since they're so vague in a vacuum.
For me, the difference between the two is the context of what surrounds them, how they're presented, how the narrative frames them both. You destroy a blank canvas by creating a painting, you create noise by destroying silence, things along those lines. You can't have creation without destruction the same way you can't have destruction without creation because past how creation is often relegated to the heroes the same way destruction is often relegated to the villains, they both boil down to the same concept, change.
To both create and destroy, you change something, no matter how massive or minute it appears, something changes.
Linking back to Miraculous, this could've been a neat story arc of Ladybug and Chat Noir thinking they're completely different due to their power sets but slowly gain a deeper understanding of both creation and destruction as their powers start to mirror each other while they grow closer as partners, realising they have far more in common than just their superhero duties.
If creation and destruction at their core is about change, then their opposite isn't each other, the opposite would be stagnation. (Unrelated side note: it reminds me of the love hate apathy trio)
Gabriel could've represented how continuously and willingly stagnating in the past to the point of completely rejecting the present and future can damage the relationships you still have and deeply hurt those around you past the point of repair.
Chloe could've represented how one can overcome stagnation, how change isn't instant, how change can hurt while it's happening but will still be worth the effort when you can live a healthier, happier life, because it's never too late to change for the better.
I struggle to become invested too deeply in modern cannon MLB like I was back in the Season 2 era because Miraculous has been "Wasted Potential and Botched Storytelling: The Series" since Season 4 for me. But hey, it makes itself useful as a springboard for AU's, what ifs and fanfiction prompts.
I will warn you now, you have just opened up the floodgates. To start, I have many opinions about their friendship. While I do go into some detail about what frustrates me about it in the set of tags you screenshotted this from, there is much more material to work with. Which is in part why, in the last few years, I don't really think of Sam and Tucker's behavior in Phantom Planet as very out of character? Their group switches between hot-and-cold pretty often. Of course some of this is for plot convenience, but that plot is our canon so. This is why we have fanfiction.
Speaking of fanfiction. This could just be my corner of the DP fandom, but I see a lot of conversation and hcs around this idea that Danny, Sam, and Tucker have trauma bonded over the Accident and their newfound responsibility. Obviously, this is not the case. I also have my own opinions about how unhealthy relationships based on trauma-bonding are but. That's a rant for another day.
But with this idea of a trauma bond, I see so many push how inseparable the three are. How they would do everything together, how they would go to the same university, move into the same apartment, chat over the phone constantly if they're not with each other in person. There's just this pressure and expectation that their friendship is set in stone.
The first episode of the series literally sets up the shaky ground their friendship rests on. In "Mystery Meat", Sam and Tucker create opposing protests and demand Danny choose a side. In "What You Want", Tucker becomes jealous of Danny's powers and, thanks to a wish from Desiree, gains some of his own. (He also does some rather concerning things with those powers, mind you, but that is also a rant for another day.) And more annoying is that, at the end of "What You Want" Danny apologized for 'showing off'? ...anyways!
I will briefly touch on "Teacher of the Year" and how terribly the boys treated Sam about Doomed, and how she wouldn't understand it for some reason (I mean we all know the reason, misogyny wwooooo).
And then we have Season Two, with "Memory Blank" where Sam wishes she had never met Danny, which took back his powers as well. Based on this episode, I don't think Sam knew the two guys for very long before the show began. It had to have been less than a year, because Sam also didn't know that Danny hates Christmas. Which is interesting, because we see in "Doctor's Disorders" that Sam did know that Tucker didn't like hospitals and had to explain it to Danny... fascinating. But that's more to establish a possible timeline than anything else.
In the episode itself, she's very... I know many people put the blame on Sam for the Accident, and honestly that first time? That was a pure accident, the blame should wholly be set on his parents. But the second time, when she knew how painful it would be? ...We can talk about that time. But even before she tries to fix her mistake, and before she makes the wish, she gets mad at Danny for breaking his promise to watch a movie with her. Because he was too busy fighting ghosts.
And you'll find that's a pretty common theme and what tends to annoy me about Sam sometimes. She's constantly espousing about this great responsibility Danny has, and then gets angry when that responsibility ruins their time together. Same thing happens in "Identity Crisis". Danny splits himself into "Fun" and "Super" Danny, so that he can have fun while sticking to his ghost hunting commitments. Even when Super Danny runs off to save the day, Sam still expects Fun Danny to help. When the whole point was that one part of him didn't have to. Of course, Sam did tell him earlier in the episode that they didn't mind helping him with the ghost hunting before, which is progress from "Memory Blank", but it's ultimately meaningless by "Phantom Planet".
This may be a smaller thing, but Sam and Tucker try to keep Valerie away from Danny in "Reign Storm" although it's rather clear that there is a budding relationship between the two. It could be because they know that relationship would not end well, but given the fact that earlier in this special, Danny asked Sam if there was anything she wanted to say to him before he (possibly) went to his permanent death and Sam hesitated... their determination to stop that blossoming romance could have been for other reasons.
"Beauty Marked" and "King Tuck". A lot could be said about these episodes. I will keep it succinct: Sam is not wrong about the misogyny, and some of Danny and Tucker's behavior is definitely deserving of the title. Also just kinda smarmy (like taking advantage of the pageant for all the girls' attention? ew...). Similarly, the mini-skirt comment in "King Tuck"... mm. MM. Pisses me off. These two episodes are a little more in the weeds of it, since it's not a direct show of their friendship and more about how their values are not aligned. The hard part about Tucker in this episode is that he is, in part, manipulated by the staff but it's been repeated behavior long before this.
And again, "The Fright Before Christmas". I am still... very disappointed in the choice to make Sam view Danny as strange for disliking the holiday season. And yeah, she admits that she doesn't celebrate the major holiday Christmas, but she does celebrate Hanukkah and I would think... I had hoped that she would understand how isolating it feels to grow up and not celebrate Christmas. But maybe that was asking for too much from the very Christian Butch Hartman.
"Double Cross My Heart" has got to be one of the worst episodes about their friendship. Danny very clearly does not like Gregor (true name: Elliot) and yes, it can be jealousy driving it and that's what causes them to dismiss him. But that makes me wonder, what do they think he's jealous of, exactly? This episode does lead more into the questionable status of Danny and Sam's relationship. (Which is hypocritical, since they tried to keep Valerie away from Danny too.) But he's also upset by how much Tucker likes Gregor, or do they believe it's all connected? And even if Danny had been wrong about his assumption that Gregor was part of the GIW, he had been right that there was something suspicious about him, and it's sad to see that he's dismissed for it. He had been right about Johnny 13 too.
I talked about "Livin' Large" in those tags, but it is... so bad. Danny is an absolute asshole the moment he has money. You can definitely see why Sam tries not to be so obvious about it. He replaces them with robots, because he's that filthy rich. And blessedly, he learns his lesson. But he keeps those robots, because they come up again in "Phantom Planet".
And of course that leads to "Phantom Planet". The other post phrased it perfectly, and shows how frustrating the turn in their relationship is. Especially frustrating when, in the end, Danny still gets the girl. But of course, keeping in mind all these other episodes, it really doesn't feel like their sudden opinion change is actually all that sudden. Or, no more sudden than a lot of the other episodes.
And I don't think they're horrible, irredeemable people for these conflicts. (Well. I have choice words for Tucker's sleazy moments, but don't worry, we can fix him with fanfiction.) They are very painfully teenagers. And that's okay! However, if they never grow out of these moments, it's very unlikely that their friendship will be a permanent one.
I also have a lot to say about how different their priorities are. It's not such a big deal when you're a kid, but when you grow up and your dreams and aspirations take you far from home and far from friends, it can be hard to maintain a lot of those friendships. It's even harder when a lot of the memories you have with them is mixed with annoyance, exhaustion, and potentially festering resentment.
Of course, this isn't all to say that they shouldn't be friends. I think Sam and Tucker have amazing chemistry, for all their meat vs veggies debates. I really love the bromance between Tucker and Danny. In the end, I just get very frustrated by this idea that their friendship is an easy one. Or, when we separate them in fics, it's weird and wrong somehow? Even when their friendship didn't implode, they just went to different universities and grew up.
Again, this is mostly just annoyance with certain fanon. Or maybe the comments my friends and I get all the time asking when Sam, Tucker, Jazz, or Dani will show up in our fics even though they weren't tagged or we already said they were dead... It could be either case-

I was high off my ass last night and had this dream where I was in this dense ass forest and sitting there was a tall woman. She was so tall I couldn’t see her face but she was wearing gold and I was like “uh…hi?” And she said “I made you, do you know that?” And I nodded and she was like “I hear your thoughts. Why do you hate my creation? Why do you try to destroy yourself? I made you perfect as you are. Please don’t break my heart”. Then she started crying and it flooded and I woke up with fucking heart palpitations like what does it Mean™️????
I had a dream just this morning/last night where I was staying in a hotel in Japan with my family. It was nighttime, so everyone was going to sleep, but as I was walking back to my bed from the en suite bathroom, two people burst in from a connecting door, kinda like the ones in American motels where it connects to the next room for easy access in case of emergencies or something. The people were a young girl, maybe 10 or younger, and an older guy, 18-20. When I asked them why they were here, they said "Leader burst into drink," which I took to mean someone they knew/were close with was an abusive drunk, and they were hiding.
Right after that, a very tall lady walked in through the front door. I couldn't see any of her face except for a smile that looked so perfect it felt weird to look at. Like, she didn't have any missing teeth or super sharp teeth or anything like that; they were just so perfect it looked like someone drew them. She was so tall that she had to hunch over to fit in the room, and her shoulders were brushing against the ceiling. She had shoulder-length hair that was very dirty and greasy. She kept trying to offer me candy and trying to shoo me into a specific corner of the room, but she didn't touch me.
Then another lady, maybe mid-30s to early 40s, threw the door open, looked around the room and then sprinted at the little girl and knocked her onto the floor. I got so mad that I ran over and started pulling the woman's hair and trying to drag her away from the little girl.
The last thing I remember was the tall lady touching my shoulder, and then I woke up with my heart beating so fast I thought I was dying.
So if ghosts can revert into their core, what if Dani did when she was destabilizing?
What if cores needed a safe resting place with access to ectoplasm? And it's instinct for ghosts to protect and nurture cores. As they're very vulnerable.
Danny acting on instinct absorbs the core or cores??(other clones?) into his body. To keep them safe.
So he carries these cores around until they mature and are stable enough to take form.
However, this takes time, like years.
So I propose. Newest JL member Danny Phantom just suddenly gasping and keeling over in the middle of a meeting or fight??
JL members start panicking. Like wtf?? What's wrong with Phantom? An attack? Is he hurt?
Phantom just sits up and continues the meeting or fight like normal until it happens again and they're like " Are you hurt? Poisoned? What is it!"
Danny just shrugs and goes " It's fine, just contractions".
"Contractions?..."
"Yeah! They suck, but I'm glad they'll be here soon. It's been like 4 years".
Just the JL or whoever panicking and being super protective over there newest and youngest member, who, through a series of misunderstandings, thinks Phantoms been knocked up for 4 years by his arch nemesis.
it'll be even worse when they find out Vlad tried to clone him. And then they all failed. And the only way they could live was if Danny did proper ghost pregnancy.
so his nemesis not only tried to clone him. He the abandoned said clones and left a child to pick up the pieces. Said teen decided to become a single parent to save their lives. And. How many did you say there were? How many! Ok. So. We need you to move in with one of us. Cause that many in one go? That's going to be a nightmare!
I want them to all come out as little baby man style snake ghostlings. That grow to the size of a normal baby over like, a month. And Danny has to keep them in a special baby enclosure. Cause the babies are curious. And small. And they keep trying to go walkabouts. So he comes to the next meeting with... Naga babies? Uhh Phantom? Are they meant to be snake hybrids?
So I looked it up on the Danny phantom wiki and there are 4 for sure clones and one maybe clone, and Dan. I’d like to think that Dan destabilized after his timeline no longer is possible, and Danny absorbed his core after Clockwork told him to check Dan’s thermos. I am going to count all 6 for this.
Now instead all of them coming at once I like another poster’s idea of it taking 4 years to gather energy and then have the “births” be spread out over months.
Now onto the scene.
Darkside was once again attacking earth and it was all hands on deck for this fight. Since Darkside’s Omega beams only affect living things Phantom is running interference and taking the beams for other League members. Darkside is increasingly getting frustrated and knocks Superman to the side for a second so he can get a punch in on the black and white pest. Though Superman is quick to re-engage the fight, and protect their new 18 year old member. After that Darkside realized he isn’t going to get anything from this invasion until he can figure out how to neutralize the infinite realms ghost, and calls retreat.
The League regroup after the last of the Parademons are gone, ready to congratulate Phantom for the difference he made. But before the rest get there Phantom lets out a gasp and doubles over grasping at his chest.
Superman has picked him up and is flying to the nearest Zeta tube in the blink of an eye. Calling over the coms, “Phantom is injured. His Core sounds strange. I’m taking him to the Watch Tower medbay.”
Batman is the first to respond, “The doctors will need someone who knows about infinite relms beings to help. Zatana. Who in the JLD is the best for this?”
“Constantine is the only one who has had any direct contact with the infinite realms. I’ll drag him up there.”
Up in the Medbay the doctors are trying get Danny to uncurl from the scrunched up ball he was in. Non of their equipment is designed to work with ghost and they ask him if he can change to human form. Danny has the white ring of light form and it spreads a few inches before it slams back together and vanishes. Danny groans and grips his arms around his chest tighter.
Superman is pacing in the waiting area outside hearing everything, wondering what is taking Constantine so long to get here and if he should go get him. Then the zeta tube announces the arrival of Batman, Zatana, Constantine, and strangely RedHood.
Constantine rushes right past Superman with out even glancing at him. Batman then asks for a report of what happened.
“Darkside got a hit in on Phantom during the fight. He didn’t show any signs of something wrong until after the enemy retreat. His Core is humming louder then Normal and has a reverb almost like there are two cores now.” Superman answered while looking curiously at Red Hood. Noticing the slight green glow through the eyes of his mask. He is strangely not in a murderous rage, but instead seem anxiously focused on the medbay window, watching Phantom
Red hood didn’t look away from the Door as he answered the unasked question. “A second before you called out on the Coms the Pit went crazy. Never had it fill me with worry and anticipation before though. Just knew I needed to be here.”
Batman’s scowl grew at that. But a new green light from the mad at grabbed their attention. Constantine had a small palm sized portal open and was funneling a toxic green glowing substance out of it and into Phantom. Phantom’s pained face relaxed for a few minutes until a shudder went through his entire body. Next moment a little glowing blue ball phased out of Danny’s chest. Danny seemed to melt in relief and finally uncurled and changed back to human form. Constantine switched to funnel the green stuff into the ball and grew a moment before the Glow Brightened. Constantine stopped and closed the portal as the ball of light expanded and changed shape. When the Light died down a small little creature that looked like a mix between a cat, snake and Phantom in his ghost tail form was floating down to land on Danny.
“What the F**k?”Red Hood said what they were all thinking.
Constantine gave Danny one more Once over before telling the doctors don’t touch the baby ghosts and walked out of the room. He leans on the wall next to the door and takes a swing from his flask. “The kid can answer things better then me but give him a day to rest. Delivering a premi is a lot harder then a fully ready ghostling.”
This post is getting a bit long and not sure how to connect the rest of ideas. So here are summaries of their reactions.
Constantine tells them that there are five more ghostling cores developing and that each one will be born a few months apart. Danny then explains the cores came from destabilized clones, and he has had them for the past four years. Batman is putting Danny on the bench until all of the ghostling are born, and he and Superman are now very ‘mother hen’ like.
They all quickly do the math on on Danny’s current age and how long he has had the cores, and Red Hood while checking his equipment asks, “Alright what’s the as***le’s name?”
Danny tiredly sighs, “Don’t bother with Vlad. He broke more Relms rules than me so he is serving time In Walker’s prison.”
Oh gosh, danny and his baby clones. All of the League members barring him from the field. Absolutely not! You could go into labour at any moment! Be a liability! We can't take the risk to you, the team or your babies!!!!
Also, Jason turns up wherever he is, calling Constantine every time. Like, yeah, he's gonna pop another one. No I don't know how I always know. Meaning he is now definitely Uncle to all of the babies.
I know you said they come out one at a time but I can’t help but imagine Danny giving birth to a whole swarm of tadpoles at once like a daddy seahorse vomiting up babies.
Danny having to fly around after his escaping babies like mad, as they try to flee to every corner. Poor guy will need a ghost proofed fish tank to corral the little brats. Forget a push chair. Danny has a high tech vivarium on wheels for his sextuplets.
Danny having to fend off so many curious people asking about his babies. No! Fuck off! He's here to get them some sun! Leave him be!! The babies are up against the tank walls staring out woefully. But pleading baby eyes. Let them out of baby jail! They will be good!!
Bet he sets them up a whole room on the watchtower for when he's on duty. His house is fully ghost proofed. Babies can't cause too much chaos there. But he has to set up a place at his work place too. Else they could escape into space.
I like to imagine that ghost instinct/child rearing is actually somewhat similar to cats. In the sense that Danny will be exhausted and instinct will have him going up to the closest person he trusts well enough and dumping all six of his babies on them before immediately conking out.
Even Constantine is lost because, while he has observed ghosts interacting with ghostlings, he's never seen the more intimate parts of it.
