"Death of Sappho" by Miguel Carbonell Selva, 1881
I posted a new reel over on Instagram, but wanted to share a few photos here too. ♡ This comes from the "Witch this Journal" prompt to create a manifestation vision board, & I used what I had to lay out what aligned with some of the things I am looking for within this new year. No doubt, it will be challenging. & as I have been feeling a bit 'in-between', I have also accepted the messiness that comes with it, and will trust the process. But for now,... Going into 2025, I look for strong cups of coffee, good art, photo worthy moments, and an abundance of flowers. ♡
One of my favorite paintings, "Sirin and Alkonost. The Birds of Joy and Sorrow" by Viktor Vasnetsov. Based on Slavic folklore of Sirin and Alkonost, one singing sorrows and the other of joy.

The Monas Hieroglyphica, published in 1564 by astrologer & mathematician John Dee - the alchemical symbol of Mercury representing the entirety of the zodiac, cited in A. Roob's Alchemy & Mysticism (TASCHEN).
Details from the painting Medea meditating on killing her children (1852), by Bezzuoli.
