“Yeah, I can totally get that for you.” Christopher stated after hearing her. Reaching up, he grabbed the item for her and handed it over to her. “Anything else that I can get for you?”

Krista smiled in relief at him as she took the item out of his hands, “ Thank you so much. I sometimes hate being short. Can’t reach a lot of stuff lately.” She chuckled before looking up at the top shelf. “ I don’t think I need anything from up there.”

“Most likely a lot. Like every year.” Carson stated, looking over at her for a moment with a small shrug.

Crystal nodded, “ I guess so, but it just seemed like we’re getting a lot more this year than we did last year.”

“Thank you! Take your time though.” Alyssa stated after she heard the from the kitchen. Honestly she didn’t mind waiting for Sara.

Once she was done, Sara brought the cup back and placed it on the counter in front of them. “ There you go, anything else, or just this one?”

“I can understand that. I’m actually the same way. Treat those the way you want to be treated. My mom always raised me like that.”

Selena chuckled. “Yeah? Eh, don’t worry. It’ll change before you know it anyway.” She said, obviously not knowing how ironic her words were. “Not too bad then.”

Crystal shrugged, “I mean there’s always that saying that people change right?” She asked rhetorically. “ Yeah, I think so too.”

“Just that, thanks.” Sylvia said but then she shook her head. “No, sorry, can I add on one of those pretzels as well, please.” She pointed out the ones.

“No worries.” She told her after placing the cup on the counter. “ Sure, these are actually fresh too. I just put them out not that long ago.”

“Oh, don’t even worry about it. It’s fine.” Sylvia smiled, shrugging because she truly didn’t mind a bit. “I get that. Uh, just a large flat white, please.”

She nodded, “ Of course. Anything else or just the flat?” Sara asked as she started on the drink.

Rosa smiled back at her. “It’s all good, don’t worry about it.” She didn’t mind, she wasn’t overly impatient. “Just a regular tea would be great, thank you.”

Sara returned the smile as she nodded her head, “ Sure thing, one tea coming up. Anything else? Or just the tea.”

Selena chuckled. “I guess you know me too well.” She shrugged, looking back at her sister for a moment. “Well, hopefully. Sometimes feels like it’ll never come.” She frowned at the words and shrugged again. “Anyway, what are you up to?”

Her sister was right, Crystal did know her well enough. She nodded her head, “Yeah I get it. I sometimes forget what month we’re in.” She chuckled. “ Just working, and doing house chores when I can get them done.”

Claire smiled, nodding. “Oh, sitting by the fireplace - with a big mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows of course. One of the best things about winter for sure.”

Crystal chuckled a bit, “ That honestly sounds like heaven. And I couldn’t agree with you more on it. I will probably just do that whenever I have a day off.”

She chuckled. “Seriously, no worries! I’m glad I could help.”

She nodded, “ I do appreciate it, you know. Not many people would stop and help.”

Nathan smiled at her. “Oh, it’s fine. Don’t mention it. I’m glad I could help you out.” He said with a chuckle. “Ah, you know what they say. Good things come in small packages.” He joked.

She chuckled, “ Ain’t that the truth.” Krista said as she thought about her daughter. “ I know I’ve said this before, but I do appreciate the help.”

”Oh, okay - no worries!” Sylvia called back through, tapping her fingers on the counter and standing patiently, but she was hungover so she was a bit down.

“Sorry about that, I was putting something away when you walked in.” Sara explained as she walked into the front. “ I’m the only one this morning, so it’s a bit hectic getting things ready for the day. But enough of that, what can I get you today?”

Rosa wandered in, feeling a little hungry. She looked around and saw no one and was a bit confused until she heard the voice as she moved towards the counter. “Oh, no rush!”

Hearing her customer’s voice saying that she nodded to herself, and got done what she needed done. It stinks having to be the only one opening that morning, but it is what it is. She put down the towel and headed into the front of the building, “ Hey sorry about that, I was putting things away before it got too busy. What can I get you this morning?”

“I dunno, the snow kind of matches my mood lately.” Selena did her best to make it sound like just a joke as she looked back at her sister. “But I guess it’ll be over before we know it.”

Crystal chuckled as she shook her head at her sister. “ When are you ever in a mood?” She joked at her before nodding her head after. “ That’s true, I’m sure we’ll be getting spring time before we know it.”
